OCTPOWRIMO – POEMS – # 15 – MY WILDEST DREAM
Today we were asked to think of our wildest dream. If we could dream anything, and it would come true, for one day, what would it be?
The poetry form I used, is called the Minute Poetry form. It consists of 3 stanzas, of 4 lines each. Each line has the syllable count of 8-4-4-4, 8-4-4-4, 8-4-4-4, 8-4-4-4 …and the rhyme scheme goes aa bb cc dd ee ff …It is also supposed to be written in strict iambic meter.
MY WLDEST DREAM
I send my words up into space
Another place
Into the sky
They will not die
My words pour down upon the land
a helping hand
for all mankind
program their mind
My words rain down from high above
For peace and love
Around the world
Kind words unfurled

I did have one of my wildest dreams come true. I did send my words (my name) into space. It was a contest for the Maven Haiku to Mars project, back in 2013. It is amazing to think of it happening! Here’s the certificate I got for submitting my haiku.
