The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Feb. 10, 2024
***
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “heavy/light/dark.” Use “light” and/or its opposites. Bonus points if you use all three. Enjoy!

I don’t mind the dark of night. I’ve never been afraid in the dark of the house or of outside. As long as I can remember I’d get up in the middle of the night and go out to look at the stars. This is when I was a little kid and my parents didn’t know I did this. I still must look at the stars every night that it’s clear out in the sky.
I’m not overly fond of bright sunny days. It’s too bright and it hurts my eyes. I seem to see air sparkles, or I don’t know what it is, but a shimmery kind of atmosphere on bright sunshiny days. I’d much rather have rainy days, then if there’s no thunderstorms, which I love, then I want clear sky darkness to see the stars.
There’s a woman singer I like, Jana Stanfield, who describes her songs as ‘heavy mental’, meaning they are heavy with meaning in the lyrics.
This song isn’t from her, but I’d say it is a heavy mental song.

Here’s a song about light and dark that is heavy with sound and meaning that I like, and with the words in the video, the music, and especially the lyrics, as they are very uplifting and hopeful.
“The Light”, by Disturbed
“… sometimes darkness can show you the light …”
