SOCS – mouse

For Linda’s challenge:

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS March 1, 2025

***

The word ‘mouse’ is from the ancient Sanskrit word ‘mus’ which means thief,

***

This is a fuzzy pink cat toy mouse that is sitting on some wrapping paper that has pink hearts and stars on it.

***

Cute pink mouse that was on my grand-daughters t-shirt when she was little.

***

4 more cat toy mice – gray, blue, and 2 green ones. They all had names, but I forget what they were. Oh wait, the last two I remember – Blue Louie, and the green one on the end was Mel Gibson, for some reason. haha!

***

Another cat toy – stuffed gray mouse with pink ears and a very long tail. This one we named Ratina.

This little mouse is dressed in Santa Claus clothes and holding a stocking. My mom painted this one.

This photo is I think a cute mouse or rat, it is silver, and is a small charm on my charm bracelet. It was given to me by my very good friend. This was back in high school. You know when you meet someone for the first time, and it seems you’ve known each other forever? That’s how it was, and we both felt it. Could it have been we knew each other in a former life? We thought so.  It is engraved on the back with the letters, “BC”, which is for her name. Why a mouse/rat? I have no idea now, but it must have meant something back then.

Well, all the caves I can think of, and have actually been to visit, are Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico, and Inner Space Caverns in Georgetown, Texas. They are both awesome to see all the cave formations. It’s amazing how the beautiful structures are underground, and learn how they were formed, and discovered.

These photos are of a couple of things from the gift shop in Carlsbad. First is a silver charm for my bracelet, and it is a bat. The next photos are of a coffee mug that we use all the time. There is a picture of a flying bat, and it says “Bats Need Friends Too!”, and the name Carlsbad Caverns National Park.

I know I had some photos of Inner Space but can’t remember where they are. It was years ago when we went, and was before phone cameras were a normal thing to have with you.

And this is interesting … My parents took their honeymoon at Carlsbad Caverns! This was in August 1944, and I have the little souvenir booklet my mom filled out. It is leather with a tie/strap on the left. It is embossed with a picture of a Native American on a white horse in the middle, and says “Honeymoon Book”, and Carlsbad Cavern N. Mex.

Hope everyone is staying safe and having a wonderful weekend! 🙂
