Flower of the Day – Hypericum

I was just going to call this photo ‘little red berries’, but then I saw the label on there, which said it was Hypericum. Not sure if they are just added decorative items for floral arrangements, or what, but they look nice, especially this time of year. To me, they look like cranberries.

Okay, I read about them, and here’s what I found out. They are also called St. John’s Wort, they are poisonous, but are used to treat many medical conditions. That seems strange to me, but others know better than me. They are considered a weed by many, and seem to take over if left to spread. Florists do use them a lot in arrangements.
