Odd Thoughts
❓❓❓
Sometimes I find myself thinking odd thoughts. Why, I don’t know. Maybe you do, too?
Here’s something.
Have you ever been reading a blog post from one of your regulars, and what you’re reading is totally different in some way? Like, the subject is slightly different than their usual, or the tone/voice sounds off and not like the usual? I have this happen every once in awhile.
Then you think to yourself, how dumb I am. I was reading a different person’s blog the whole time. Then it all makes sense.
I see my email notices list and click on one I want to read, but somehow I clicked the one above or below, and so I’m on a totally different blog than I intended … but I think I’m on the one I wanted. So it sounds all wrong. This happened the other morning already. I read a blog by someone I’m pretty sure is a guy’s blog. But the one I was reading sounded like a girl was writing it. What was going on? Then, I realized I was on a different blog than I thought. haha 🙂

And here’s another …
You follow all kinds of people’s blogs and get to know a little about them through their posts. Sometimes there are a couple of bloggers who could be almost twins, in that they sort of look alike (if you’ve seen photos), they write about the same type of things especially if they both do the blog challenges, and you wonder if they even realize this, or if they know of the other one’s blog. I could switch their names and their posts could almost be mirror images. Not that they are copying the other, because they aren’t, and they don’t even know each other, as far as I know, and they live in different countries, even. But they are so alike it’s strange.

Hi Barbara, I have had this happen!
It is funny and weird when it does!

Thanks, Carol Anne! It is kind of funny and weird, isn’t it! It takes me a minute to figure out what’s going on, then I have to laugh about it. 🙂

I have definitely done the first one. And when I read several memoirs at the same time, I get confused. XO

Thanks, Ellen! It is odd when this happens. And in books too, if I’m reading several at a time, I kind of mix them up of which characters go with which book. haha 🙂

The first one has happened to me because two bloggers that I follow have similar blog names.

Thanks, Sadje! Oh I’ve had that situation, too. The blog names are the same, or almost the same. I have to stop and think which one I’m actually reading. 🙂

I’ve even commented using the wrong name 😂

I think I have, too. But I do that more in real life. I forget people’s names sometimes, or they – to me- look like they should be a certain name and it gets stuck that’s what I’ll call them, right but mostly wrong. So far no one has gotten mad about it. haha 🙂

I agree with this completely.

Thanks, Nicole! So strange when it happens, and then you realize why and what you did and the reason it was sounding off to us. 🙂

If you follow a lot of bloggers you’re bound to get things mixed up now and again. I sometimes get names mixed up with just a few that I follow.

Thanks, Glyn! I guess it’s more common than I thought. I try to use a blogger’s name in my comments, because it helps me to remember who I’m talking to. It also helps to see the little picture they use to put a name to a face, or in some cases the emblem they use.. 🙂

I use the Reader to check out blogs, and every once in a while it opens a different link than what I click on…. and YES, it sometimes taken me a while to realize I’m not reading who I thought I was reading!

Thanks, Bill! Glad I’m not the only one this happens to. It’s kind of weird, and then you get that ah hah moment when you realize what has happened. 🙂
