Exact steps or command run after this patch: Ran a Node/tsx terminal probe that imported listGatewayAgentsBasic from src/gateway/agent-list.ts and listAgentsForGateway from src/gateway/session-utils.ts, then passed a config containing one identity-only agent, one explicit-name agent, and one unnamed agent.

@byungsker Thanks — I took the missing-name edge case suggestion and pushed a small follow-up.

What changed:

added a regression test for the name === undefined && identity.name === undefined case in listGatewayAgentsBasic
added the same missing-name coverage for listAgentsForGateway

A few clarifications on the other notes:

the precedence is intentionally configuredName ?? identity.name, and that is already called out in the PR summary
check already passed on this branch, so the optional entry.identity?.name?.trim() path is type-safe here
the current scope is the shared gateway agent listing/summary helpers (listGatewayAgentsBasic and listAgentsForGateway), which also feed status/usage surfaces, rather than a single UI-only call site

I’m keeping the PR scoped to this fallback behavior and its regression coverage.
