Ordering calendars for relatives.

I'm feeling nervous and relieved at the same time. No, no, not because of any drug I'm on ;) I placed the order for 25, 18-month calendars on Shutterfly.com just about an hour ago. That's a BIG order! Yesterday I tried to narrow down the number of images to use from about 500 to 2 dozen, and Lyle stayed up to work on the ones that made the cut to get them ready to upload to Shutterfly. I was too exhausted after my walk with YI to do much of anything last night so poor Lyle had to deal with it. Why do I have to get so drained every time I see or talk to her?? How unfortunate.

Anyhoo, I uploaded 22 this morning, narrowed that down to 19: 18 for the months and 1 for the cover. If I had more time, I could have published the calendar using iPhoto. They have more options and nicer layouts. Alas, I don't have time. I don't even know if there's enough time left to get the calendars through Shutterfly before I get on the plane next Wednesday morning. I called up Shutterfly to see if they could give me a discount on the 25 calendars (doesn't hurt to ask?) and to my surprise, they did give me $3 off each, which means we saved $75 total off their current promotional price or $200 off if we compare to their regular price. Plus, they gave my account free shipping for 3 future orders because there's some business promotion going on. Lucky!

Thanks, Lyle for suggesting that I call them first. So now I pray that the calendars will get to us in time and that they turn out decently. I could have asked for next day delivery (next day after their production time), but that would have cost another $138.99... too much.

I found this LJ update widget for macs. I hope it works...

widget works + Mr. Jones on the balcony

I just spent 2 hours frolicking on the balcony with Mr. Jones. He was doing most of the frolicking, I was mostly having fun watching him do the things he does only on the balcony or other open spaces that remind me that he is, in fact, a rabbit: binkies. He even did a binky so big his legs slipped from under him when he landed and he had to pretend that nothing of the sort happened.

Toward the end of the 2 hours, when I stepped inside to read an article online--I was right by the screen door to make sure I could see him at all times--I noticed something funny. Mr. Jones became a rock. He just stopped moving, may be except for the tip of his sniffing nose. He just sat there at attention looking straight at me through the screen door the entire 5 minutes I was inside. After being stared at that long and consistently, one cannot help but feel the need to do something about it.

I started to feel bad. Mr. Jones staring at me like that made me feel like he was telepathically telling me not to abandon him. I tried staring back at him and mentally telling him I'll be right there so go enjoy yourself in the meantime, but he continued to be a rock until I couldn't ignore him anymore and I went back outside to keep him company. I'm weak ;P

Once I was back outside with him, he immediately "unstuck" himself and started hopping and then grooming. He also came up to me so I could clean his weepy eye after he had made his attempt to remove some of the crud. I guess this mind control thing only works in one direction.
