Fishbone and Pepper are running around right now and I’m using the laptop to write while I keep an eye on the two of them to make sure they don’t get aggressive. Pepper is behaving rather timid and Fishbone is very curious about Pepper, but he keeps hopping away. Sometimes Pepper follows Fishbone, but if Fishbone turns around, he starts hopping away again. Pepper is also leaving a trail of poop behind him, though not as much as he does at Brian’s-he, he. Having them out together really emphasizes the size difference between them. I think I was wrong about Fishbone being twice the size of Pepper. It’s probably more like two and a half to three times bigger. I’m really glad Fishbone isn’t acting aggressively. Pepper is also probably either too timid or too young to be pursuing Fishbone in a sexual manner (thank goodness!). He’s so different from Pecha, who was always trying to mate with anyone available, even stuffed toys.
I need to make sure Brian pays more attention to Pepper. Pepper is not very used to humans or any sort of contact it seems. Brian, pet and touch Pepper in a loving manner more! At least an hour of petting and direct interacting is necessary everyday to create trust, not just letting the bunny out to run and watching it run around. It’ll get bored quickly like that. Oh, and two more hours of free run on top of that too.
I think it was with you I was last year talking about RHDV and vaccinating rabbits? This year I've seen occasionally news that the virus has spread to Canada and US as well, and thought about…
