A Case Study: Flow Therapy & 3DforScience
Flow Therapy is on a mission to redefine heart disease treatment by going beyond symptom management to unlock natural healing through Enhanced External Counterpulsation (EECP) therapy. To help communicate this innovative, non-invasive solution, Flow Therapy partnered with 3DforScience to produce a clear, engaging 3D animation that explains EECP’s mechanism of action inside and outside the heart — and how it brings new hope to patients and families.

The animation follows the entire EECP journey: cuffs gently wrap around the patient’s legs and hips, inflate sequentially to push oxygen-rich blood back to the heart during diastole, then rapidly deflate before systole to reduce cardiac workload. Inside the heart and vessels, viewers see how this improves circulation, widens existing pathways, activates dormant vessels, and encourages new collateral vessel growth — all contributing to better heart health with zero surgery or medication.

Our team worked hand-in-hand with Flow Therapy’s clinical experts to illustrate the inside-out effects of EECP. Each scene merges realistic patient views, precise anatomical models, and smooth, clear infographics — balancing scientific integrity with an uplifting tone that reassures patients and educates healthcare providers.
Starting with Flow Therapy’s trusted protocols, we mapped out storyboards highlighting three layers: what happens on the body (cuffs and heartbeat synchronization), inside the heart (blood supply and oxygenation), and system-wide (vessel strengthening and inflammation reduction). Each claim was supported by animated callouts and easy-to-follow visuals.

Unlike traditional diagrams, this animation immerses viewers in the patient’s experience, showing how the therapy feels, how it works, and why it delivers lasting benefits. This multi-layered approach makes EECP easy to explain during consultations, webinars, and community outreach.

From initial script and sketches to final rendering and voiceover, our production stayed in sync with Flow Therapy’s medical and communications teams. The result is a polished, flexible visual asset ready for patient education, physician training, and online promotion.

This animation is now a cornerstone of Flow Therapy’s mission to break the cycle of heart disease limitations. It helps patients see EECP not as a mysterious machine, but as a clear path back to energy, freedom, and a life without limits.
“Flow Therapy trusted us to turn a clinically proven but often misunderstood therapy into an inspiring visual story. Together, we help patients and doctors embrace a future where heart health means living fully again.”
