Ashland, a global leader in specialty ingredients and formulation innovation, collaborated with 3DforScience to create a high-impact mechanism-of-action video for Collapeptyl™, a next-generation hyaluronic acid–peptide hybrid. The objective was to translate advanced biomimetic science into a visually compelling narrative that aligns with Ashland’s premium brand identity and speaks to both scientific and creative audiences in the cosmetics industry.


The animation guides the viewer from the microscopic to the sensorial. It begins inside the skin, traveling through a dense collagen network that illustrates the Collaverse™ in motion. Environmental stressors such as UV exposure, free radicals, and time disrupt this balance, visually reinforcing the causes of skin aging.

Our team worked to ensure that each visual element reflected credible biomimetic science while maintaining elegance and clarity. Collagen fibers, hyaluronic acid, and peptide interactions were modeled to feel alive and dynamic rather than abstract. Data-driven claims were translated into intuitive visual cues, allowing complex performance metrics to be understood instantly without overwhelming the viewer.
Starting from Ashland’s scientific narrative and brand guidelines, we developed storyboards that balanced education and emotion. The visual language combined immersive 3D skin environments with refined transitions into lifestyle imagery, ensuring continuity between molecular science and consumer perception. Each scene was refined to maintain consistency with Ashland’s visual identity while reinforcing Collapeptyl™’s positioning at the intersection of science and beauty.

The project followed a streamlined yet collaborative workflow, integrating script refinement, storyboard development, 3D skin and molecule modeling, animation, and final brand-aligned editing. Continuous alignment with Ashland’s teams ensured that the final asset met both scientific standards and aesthetic expectations.
