Flower of the Day – Honeysuckle

Don’t you just love the scent of honeysuckle flowers!

Honeysuckle blooms have yellow and white flowers and dark green leaves. This is from my own honeysuckle bush/vine in the back yard several years ago. I don’t have this vine any more but it looked good for quite a long time.

These are leaves on the Virginia Creeper Vine on our fence. They turn a pretty red in the fall. This one is just beginning it’s change of season from green to red.

Our side yard fence is covered in these wonderfully bright red leaves. The vines are a Virginia Creeper, and was planted by our used to be neighbor many years ago. Thanks, Kelly! We enjoy seeing these every fall. 🙂

These are just a very few of the leaves of the Virginia Creeper vines that grow over our backyard fence. They turn this pretty red and rust color every Autumn. Our friend who used to live next door planted them years ago, and they are still going strong.

My honeysuckle vine has started blooming again! Here are some photos I took yesterday afternoon. I thought last year it was gone, because it barely had any leaves, and didn’t flower at all. I guess since we’ve had some rain this year, it came back. I’m glad, as I’ve had this honeysuckle vine for quite a few years. There were two little starter plants when I got them, and now they have climbed up taller than the back fence.

The first photo is of one whiteish flower, and some greenish yellow buds. The next two are of the full flowers, and some yellow parts, too. I love how they smell! 🙂
