Well, I’m sure you’ve probably seen some of my own paintings here before. I like painting on canvas, and also on rocks. I use all types of paint brushes, from wide ones, and very small pointed ones, and even one shaped like a fan on the end. That one is fun.

But, I’m going another way this time. I was thinking about brushes, and remembered those huge brushes in the car wash that slap against your car.

First they squirt some pretty colors of soap onto the car and windows, then the brushes sort of paint the colors around to make sort of abstract art. It’s usually very pretty. Sometimes it’s one color, and sometimes it’s several colors. You get a whole art show right there in your car.

Here’s a photo of the brushes, and also after the soap/paint stuff is streaking down the front window. This one was orange and red, but I do have photos of blue, and multicolored.

Another neat way to paint I found out was by this painting my husband had made for me while he was in Korea. It was done by a street artist in a matter of minutes, and is so beautiful. He used only a bamboo stick frayed at the end for his paintbrush to do these intricate designs of birds and fish and flowers in all colors. The painting is long on a piece of paper and spells my name.

#RDP #74 – Zest

RDP #74 – ZEST

***

Today for the RDP challenge, the word is ‘zest’.

What to say about zest?

All I can think of is soap. Zest soap. I might have used it before, but can’t remember. I think the ads they ran on TV and in magazines are to make you feel all zesty or something. Maybe it would give you a burst of energy to lather up with their zesty smelling soap?

###

Oh, there’s the zest you can grate off of a lemon or orange to put in a dish of food you’re cooking. I’ve probably done that a time or two. I don’t go around zesting fruits on a regular basis, though.

###

There is a saltine cracker called Zesta. I’ve probably had those at one time or another, but usually we get another brand. I don’t know why, as saltines by any name are all about the same, aren’t they?

###

~warning~spur of the moment bad poem ahead…

Lather up with Zest

Their ads say it’s the best

It gives you a fruity feeling

Orange or lemon zest

It’s easier than peeling

You may say this is crackers, and

Poetry is not for slackers
