Earthquakes!

We’ve been having some earthquakes this week! Monday night was one 4.9 and then this morning we were shook by a 5. 0.

We do have them here in west TX sometimes. The comments on our news channels have said it was felt all over the region.

We felt them all the time in Japan, some pretty big, so we know how they feel. This was just a little shaking at our house this morning. It lasted quite a few seconds, though. The news said however, that there have been as many as 62 this week. I guess some were too small to actually feel.

Anyway, it’s something to talk about. 🙂

Earthquake

Earthquake

December 16, 2022 – 5:45 p.m.

I meant to write about this then, but got busy with other things.

Anyway, we had an earthquake here. They say it was a 5.4.

I was sitting here at my computer desk when it started shaking. It lasted about 30 seconds maybe.

When my husband came in from the garage I told him I think we just had an earthquake. He said he didn’t notice! haha

Then the local news and social media sites were swamped with calls and texts.

It’s not unheard of that we’d have an earthquake here, but it’s sure not common. When we lived in Japan we got used to them happening almost every day. Mostly small ones, but enough to shake the house and make our hanging lights sway back and forth.

So, that’s about it. Strange thing about earthquakes, you never know when one will happen. Not like tornadoes and hurricanes and typhoons, where you are having storms and some kinds of warnings. I’ve been in all of those, too. 🙂
