Flower of the Day – Red Yucca

Flower of the Day – Red Yucca

***

These were part of the landscaping outside a restaurant. They’re pretty typical of the type we see around here.

When I got closer, I noticed the large, green pods. Could they be seed pods?

So, I searched around and found out it is called Red Yucca, and is native to this desert area here in west TX, and on to the south into Mexico.

Flower of the Day – Roadside Flowers

A few years ago we were stopped at a red light, so I took a photo of the landscaping flowers right beside us on the road. I don’t know what all there is, but I see a short yellow bushy plant, tall orange ones, and I think pink roses in the back.
