Squares – Geometry

For Becky’s challenge:

Happy New Squares

Becky has given us the topic/theme of finding geometry shapes in our photos.

This is a fun challenge, and the main rule is that our photo must be in the shape of a Square. Find more information  at the link above.

This is a windmill that has circles and exes, and lines and triangles in a spoke type wheel. There’s even a trapezoid in there by the wheel.

I took this photo at a farm with a corn maze one year.

However, this photo I was holding up the original by the front door, and the sun was shining on it. The wind was blowing the tree branches around, which cast shadows on the photo. I think it turned out pretty cool.

Monthly Shape Adventure – Parallelogram

This month is all about parallelograms. I really didn’t know what this was, so I looked it up. I found that a parallelogram can be a square, a rectangle, a diamond shape, and a rhombus (a slanted rectangle}. All it has to have is 4 sides, with 2 sets of parallel lines (at the top and at the bottom).

I couldn’t find slanted one, but all these can be called a parallelogram. Also, I can now say that I know how to spell it, which is easier than saying it! 🙂

Here’s a funny little video about parallelograms.
