Neighbor Houses # 4 & 5

These are my thoughts and memories of the houses in our neighborhood when I was a kid.

Owen’s House:

This house was directly across the street from ours. It was an okay house, sort of an orange wood frame house. I’m not sure how many bedrooms, as I can’t remember ever being in it.

Funny thing though, they had another house, a big white house, right behind this front by the street house. I don’t know why, unless the back house was original, then they built the front house? Anyway they both were there.

They had three older boys and a little girl. We didn’t have much to do with this family, but the lady and the little girl would sometimes come over for coffee with my mom. The boys were rowdy and not many got along with any of them. In fact, our other neighbor was always calling the police on them for getting in her yard. She’d also say she was going to call the FBI on them. But, I didn’t know what that meant, and I heard what she said as Yippie Yi. Like some kind of western cattle drive? Yippie Yi get along little dogies? haha 🙂

Couch’s House:

Next door to the Owen’s house was the Couch’s house. It was very small stucco, set way back on the property lot so you could hardly know it was there. They had at least one older girl that I know of, and she was pretty, but didn’t hang out with us kids.

This is a month of blue! It’s a fun challenge created by Becky of “The Life of B”, and each day we show something blue. The only rule beside blue, is that the photo MUST be SQUARE!

As an added bonus, I’ve found songs with blue in the title or lyrics, or at least something to do with the photo. 🙂

Combining two challenges today: July Squares and Pull Up a Seat.

What I have are blue chairs, or rather three blue chairs and a little blue love seat.

I was trying to be funny with a take-off of the movie, “Three Men & a Little Lady”. haha 😉

Anyway, all these old blue chairs I found at yard sales and an antique shop recently.

The photos show a small child’s sky blue lawn chair that has a slatted back, and arm rests, too.

Then there is the antique plush velour fabric high backed chair (studded back).

Next is a cotton fabric glider/rocker with wooden arms.

Last is the couch or love seat which has overstuffed back pillows and arms, of a blue fabric with small white flowers.
