Weekend Sky # 95 – Thunderheads

This was several years ago looking out from our front yard. It’s a huge white and dark gray cloud I believe they call a thunderhead. Usually there are storms below. These were a few miles from us though, but it makes a pretty picture with the dark blue sky behind it.
They are actually called Cumulonimbus. They tower very tall, and are capable of producing super cells with tornadoes, large hail, and severe winds.
We have these mostly in the spring around May.
