Last week, three classic NES games were made available for the Nintendo Switch Online. These games can be played for both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The games are Pac-Man, The Tower of Druaga, and Mendel Palace.

Pac-Man is a game that pretty much needs no further introduction. Namco first released Pac-Man in 1980 and became the defining game during the Arcade era. Now the NES version of Pac-Man is available on Nintendo Switch online.

The Tower of Druaga is an Action role-playng maze game where you scale 60 floors of the titular tower in order to rescue the maiden Ki from Druaga, an eight-armed and four-legged demon who plans to use the Blue Crystal Rod to enslave mankind. It’s basically like a ‘fantasy Pac-Man’ with combat and puzzle-solving.

Lastly there is Mendel Palace. Mendel Palace is a 1989 puzzle game by Game Freak (creator of the Pokémon series) where each level is a 5 X 7 grid of floor tiles surrounded by a boundary wall. You flip the floor tile you are standing on to propel the enemy dolls away and reveal new floor tiles underneath. The enemies can be destroyed by flipping them into a wall or impassable block.
