Soldiers could request transfers over State Laws they Felt Discriminatory in draft policy

The US Army is circulating a draft policy that would allow soldiers to move bases if they feel state or local laws discriminate against them on the basis of race, religion, sex, or gender, according to Military.com, citing two sources with direct knowledge of the plans.

Apparently the “woke” military is less concerned about bullets whizzing by the soldier and more about having their feelings hurt. It would seem the army would want to first consider the best location to place the individual for its “readiness” than for their comfort level. They say they want to “Shield service members?” What happens in foreign countries? So LGBT and Trannies no longer will need to serve in the Middle East? Just request a transfer? Where does this end? The word “cater” comes to mind.

The policy would ostensibly sanction soldiers to declare that certain states are too racist, too homophobic, too sexist or otherwise discriminatory to be able to live there safely and comfortably.

“Some states are becoming untenable to live in; there’s a rise in hate crimes and rise in LGBT discrmination,” Lindsay Church, executive director of Minority Veterans of America, an advocacy group, told Military.com. “In order to serve this country, people need to be able to do their job and know their families are safe. All of these states get billions for bases but barely tolerate a lot of the service members.”

The Army’s consideration of a policy to protect soldiers from discriminatory laws is part of a wider Defense Department campaign to start shielding service members from increasingly divisive laws and rhetoric from state-level lawmakers.

US Soccer teams face huge fines who do not shortlist non-white job applicants

 

Major League Soccer (MLS) teams have been handed a new diversity hiring policy which requires two or more non-white candidates to be in the ‘finalist pool’ – with potential fines topping $100,000 for clubs failing to comply.

MLS Commissioner Don Garber claimed the move is a continuation of efforts to “diversify the MLS ecosystem at every level”.

Ecosystem? No doubt this will soon expand into other sports as well. Golf should be ripe for the next sport. Will they get a “handicap?” Literally recall golfer Casey Martin?

The Supreme Court ruled decisively that Casey Martin, the disabled golfer who has been battling the PGA Tour over its walking rule for the last four years, has the legal right to ride in a golf cart during tournament play. The 7-to-2 decision rejected the Tour’s argument. (May 30, 2001)

The English Touring Opera (ETO) has cited “diversity” to justify not renewing the contracts of 13 musicians, nearly half its orchestra. Though employed on rolling freelance contracts, many of the players had been with ETO for 20 years or more.

MLS Diversity Hiring Policy for MLS Sporting Positions

Prior to hiring any position listed in Table 1 below, the Team Operator must do the following as promptly as possible:

  1. Notify the League Office of the open position through the League’s Diversity Policy Portal (DPP).
  2. Ensure the finalist pool includes two (2) or more candidates from underrepresented groups, whereby at least one (1) candidate must be either Black or African American.
  3. Provide the League Office with information related to all candidates in the finalist pool through the DPP. 
  4. Demonstrate an equal interview process with comparable interview experience for all candidates in the finalist pool through the DPP.

The new rules, which the MLS board announced are aimed at a ‘more robust consideration of non-white candidates for open positions’, apply to sporting roles at clubs in the most high-profile soccer competition in the US.

They order that one of the candidates must be Black or African American ‘as part of a renewed effort to prioritize opportunities for Black candidates’. The policy previously only required one ‘diverse candidate’ to be interviewed for an open position.

As part of ongoing efforts to establish and develop a deep pipeline for sporting staff from underrepresented groups, the updated policy will apply to MLS clubs, MLS’ youth academies – MLS NEXT – and soon to the entire MLS ecosystem, which includes MLS NEXT Pro.

 

Specific updates to the MLS diversity hiring policy include:

  • The addition of a definition of “underrepresented groups” to specify that this term includes Black or African American, Hispanic/Latino(a), American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Hawaiian/Pacific Islanders, Canadian Indigenous, Canadian First Nations, Women, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
  • A new requirement to demonstrate an equal interview process and comparable interview experience for all candidates in the finalist pool for an open sporting position.
  • Clarification of public sanctions for teams that fail to abide by the policy, including up to $50,000 fines for first offenses, up to $100,000 fines for second offenses, and fines of more than $100,000 (pursuant to the Commissioner’s discretion) for third offenses and beyond. Previously, the Commissioner had sole discretion to impose sanctions as he saw fit.
  • A new commitment to review the policy annually and update it as needed.
  • The addition of a specific list of first-team sporting positions and academy sporting positions to which this policy applies.
  • The creation of a Diversity Policy Portal (DPP) in which clubs must submit all details of vacant sporting positions and include information related to all candidates in the final candidate pool.
  • The addition of specific guidelines for a process to request waivers to the policy, which will be granted only in extenuating circumstances.

Oscars new requirements for ‘Best Picture’ – includes cognitive disability, deaf

 

This should insure mediocrity in the film industry. “People with cognitive or physical disabilities, or who are deaf or hard of hearing” counts for inclusion in the requirements to be in the “Best Picture” category. Apparently Walmart comes to the film industry.

I am a big movie fan. I love my big screen TV with Netflix and Prime subscriptions especially now being hunkered down. Fortunately, I love the oldies. Our one theatre closed months ago forever thanks to the government. Let’s see how this works out for the theaters still waiting in the wings for the next blockbuster and mercy shown by our fearless government leaders.

The diversity and inclusion initiative has been a heavy focus for the Oscars the past few years, shown by the expansive membership initiative. Today, as part of the Academy Aperture 2025 initiative, AMPAS announced new representation and inclusion standards in order to be eligible in the best picture category.

For the 94th and 95th Oscars ceremonies, scheduled for 2022 and 2023, a film will submit a confidential Academy Inclusion Standards form to be considered for best picture. Beginning in 2024, for the 96th Oscars, a film submitting for best picture will need to meet the inclusion thresholds by meeting two of the four standards.

 

 

At least two of the following creative leadership positions and department heads — Casting Director, Cinematographer, Composer, Costume Designer, Director, Editor, Hairstylist, Makeup Artist, Producer, Production Designer, Set Decorator, Sound, VFX Supervisor, Writer — are from the following underrepresented groups:

• Women
• Racial or ethnic group
• LGBTQ+
• People with cognitive or physical disabilities, or who are deaf or hard of hearing

At least one of those positions must belong to the following underrepresented racial or ethnic group:

• Asian
• Hispanic/Latinx

• Middle Eastern/North African
• Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander
• Other underrepresented race or ethnicity

Bag Man Biden’s first campaign stop at Comcast – collecting on merger of NBC?

 

I read that Biden last night was visiting his old friend at Comcast no doubt “collecting” his chits from the hey day of the merger of NBC and Comcast. You see, the Obama administration made NBC agree to become the radical news source that it is for the merger to occur. Now that we know what sticky fingers Biden has as a bag man with his nefarious business deals, it makes sense for Biden to make his first collection at Comcast- owner of NBC and MSNBC. No less the visit with the “diversity officer?” Now that is a real knee slapper. Hey, anyway, it’s always good to have a friend down D.C. way.

Former vice president and Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden will attend a fundraiser at the home of an executive of Comcast, which owns NBC.

David Cohen, a senior executive vice president and the chief diversity officer for the company, will host a fundraiser at his Philadelphia home on Thursday, Common Dreams reports. The event will also include Democratic members of Congress and important donors.

Comcast owns NBCUniversal, which runs NBC, MSNBC, and other news networks.

Biden spoke with donors on Wednesday, according to Politico.

Let’s step back in time, oh say around 2011. I’ll throw out some highlights.

Slowly, we are learning more about the merger of Comcast and NBC. Not that NBC could carry George Soros’s water any more than they do, but it is stunning that there is no shame.

The pending merger between NBC Universal and Comcast appears to have received Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski’s support because of the companies’ recent promises to the NAACP, Al Sharpton’s National Action Network, the National Urban League and several Hispanic and Asian civil rights organizations. The two media giants promised more “diversity” in new and existing programming, and in all levels of the company and they promised more minority characters in existing television programs and more new programs targeted at the specific racial minorities.

To get the civil rights groups on board with their merger, NBC Universal and Comcast worked out several Memorandums of Understanding, or written agreements, with the different groups, dividing them by race. The separate agreements included an Asian American Memorandum of Understanding, an African American Memorandum of Understanding and a Hispanic American Memorandum of Understanding.

Under the terms of the FCC order approving Comcast’s takeover of NBCU, at least half of NBC’s 10 O&Os have to find a nonprofit news center with which to work within the next year. The order cites the KNSD-VoiceOfSanDiego.org alliance as the model for what it would like to see in other NBC markets.

Proponents of the growing nonprofit news movement are hoping that NBC’s FCC-mandated efforts will bear fruit and encourage other commercial TV stations to seek out nonprofit partners.

There’s just one problem with this: Voice of San Diego is a member of INN (Investigative News Network) which is funded by the Open Society Institute, the URL of which is “www.soros.org.” Yes, these “non-profit” journalism centers are funded by George Soros.

NBCU will strive to ensure the presentation of diverse viewpoints by seeking the expanded participation of minorities on its news and public affairs programming,” the companies promised in writing to black leaders. “To advance this goal, NBCU will consider suggestions from the African American Advisory Council of individuals who could be considered for such participation.”

“In addition, Comcast Cable is committed to launching a package of 40-60 Spanish-language channels in all of its major Latino markets, with a balanced mix of programming serving all demographics and strongly promoting a diversity of Latino voices,” the companies promised in writing to Hispanic leaders. “Comcast Cable also will more than double its 600 hours of Latino VOD content, continue to add SAP-enabled offerings, and offer thousands of choices within a few years.”

The media giants also agreed to allow black leaders to have influence over NBC’s news programming. In addition to programming “diversity,” the Comcast and NBC Universal Memorandums of Understanding with different race-specific civil rights groups promise “diversity” in company employment, in supplier and vendor procurement and in “philanthropy and community investment.

I’m going to make him an offer he can’t refuse.

NYC terrorist strike came via ‘Diversity Visa Program’ thank Chuck Schumer

 

The Mark Levin broadcast last night revealed that the latest terrorist to strike us here in NYC, washed up on our shores via the “Diversity Visa Program.” Needless to say, I lit up like a Christmas tree as I have been posting about the dangers of this program since my earliest days of blogging. We learn that this Visa program was thrust upon us by no less than Chuck Schumer according to Levin. The bill passed in 1990 and became effective in 1995. Here we go just for the memories:

I first wrote a post back in 2010 about this absurd Diversity Visa program that allows thousands to come to the United States from terror ridden countries.  All in the name of political correctness that puts us all at risk. So our very lives now depend on the luck of the draw? If we are very lucky the ultimate power ball winners will not be terrorists who will come here to kill us. At the least, another drain on our society. Those will come who have no skills, health problems that we will have to take care of, a religion that has no respect to our Judeo-Christian heritage. Now? We have the concern of Ebola.

The Congressionally mandated Diversity Immigrant Visa Program makes available 50,000 diversity visas (DV) annually, drawn from random selection among all entries to persons who meet strict eligibility requirements from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. They end up with Green cards can bring their extended families to the USA.

A group calling themselves the “22,000 Hopefuls” are suing the US state department to try and stop a re-drawing of its 2012 Diversity Lottery.

The 22,000 people had received a promise saying their applications had been accepted and would be considered from 19 million entrants after entering a yearly “Green Card lottery” programme offered by the US government.

But US officials later retracted the results after they said a computer glitch for drawing the people was discovered.

If we thought that the Federal mandates of hiring candidates solely on the basis of race was only at that level, it has now filtered down to State and Local levels. No doubt they received a federal grant to promote this ignorance. No longer hire the brightest and best, let’s let ’em die so we can do the quota thing. You can’t make this stuff up. It’s a real-life story out of Phoenix, the capitol of Arizona and the nation’s sixth-largest city. It has more than 1.4 million residents and, among its official mottos is “value and respect” of diversity. This means “more than gender and race,” according to the city’s official website. It also encompasses “uniqueness and individuality” and embracing differences. “We put this belief into action to provide effective services to our diverse community.”

To diversify the lifeguard force, Phoenix will spend thousands of dollars to recruit minorities even if they’re not strong swimmers, according to an official quoted in a news report. Blacks, Latinos and Asians who may not necessarily qualify can still get hired, says the city official who adds that “we will work with you in your swimming abilities.”

Earlier this year the Obama administration made history by hiring the government’s first “Chief Officer for Scientific Workforce Diversity” to mastermind a multi-million-dollar effort that boosts the number of minorities in biomedical research and slashes discrimination in the federal grant process. The effort was initially launched last year after a government-sanctioned study uncovered a “disturbing and disheartening” lack of racial diversity in the field.

Before that the administration created a new office help build a “diverse and inclusive workforce” at all federal agencies and Obama appointed a “Diversity Czar” at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to help advance the goal of greater inclusion and diversity in government programs. Who could forget the race and gender employment quotas required at private financial institutions under Obama’s financial reform measure (known as the Dodd-Frank bill) to overhaul Wall Street? It’s all in the name of diversity.

Obama’s Friday’s Orders -Just one day, Diversity, EPA

The usual Friday dump of our Leader’s new edicts and orders. While our heads were turned for our weekend break, the behemoth moves on. Looks like August will be a match for July when Obama unleashed 608 regulations in July, costs 9.5 Billion.

Maggie’s Notebook has done a great deal of work breaking down the Diversity bit– slide on over.

Considering who pays taxes or should (those who work, or should), in 2004, 83% of all income taxes paid-in came from White taxpayers; Blacks 13%, Hispanics 10%, Asians 3.6%. That means 40% of taxpayers, even if they are zero-tax-filers, are other than White. If you think it isn’t relevant that Whites pay 83% of all taxes, even though we are only 63.7% of the population, including children who pay no taxes, (meaning White taxpayers number less than 63.7% considerably), then you likely approve of Social Justice

Diversity:

President Obama did just that on Thursday with an order designed to coordinate a “government-wide initiative to promote diversity and inclusion in the federal workforce.” Executive order 13583 creates a council of deputy agency chiefs and federal workers charged with developing a government-wide plan to improve diversity in recruitment, training, and promotion of federal workers, all due within 90 days. After that, each federal agency will have 120 days to develop guidelines of their own.

It’s about time, too.  According to the Federal Office of Personnel Management, minorities represent only 38.8 percent of the federal workforce and a mere 43.9 percent of the federal workforce is female.

It’s a national disgrace, but hopefully, this bold act of leadership will start to right the wrongs.  After all, if the EEOC has the courage to fight for the rights of dwarfs who can’t see over the counter at Starbucks, surely the Federal Government can ensure that there are more people of color answering the phones at the IRS.  Business Insider 

EPA:

In January, he signed an executive order directing agencies to use the “least burdensome tools” that take “into account benefits and cost” and “[promote] economic growth … and job creation.”

Either the Environmental Protection Agency didn’t get the memo or it was lost under the growing stack of regulations the agency is advancing at record speed.

Last week, the EPA said it would soon release updated ozone regulations that are going to kill jobs and impose substantial costs on the U.S. economy – at least $90 billion, by its own estimates, and $1 trillion annually between 2020 and 2030 according to industry estimates. Washington Tmes

Need another one? Syria
Executive order 13582 should do it.  It freezes the assets of the Syrian government in the U.S., imposes sanctions on the import of Syrian oil and forbids American investment there.

Of course, Syria is only ranked 31st in Oil production worldwide, right behind Ecuador, and 90% of that oil goes elsewhere, but it sounds good and no one will know.  Better issue a tough statement too, condemning “the disgraceful attacks on Syrian civilians”.  Do it in writing though, so you don’t have to answer any questions.  Send Hillary out there:  she loves those microphones.

Immigration: And of course. Let’s blow off Congress with:

Sure, you’ve on record as saying that you don’t have the authority to halt deportations and that you’re required to follow the laws as Congress passed them, but that kind of thinking is such 20th century stuff. Janet can blow that away.

Have her write a letter to Congress saying that she has the discretion to focus on “priorities”, and that she and the Justice Department will review all the ongoing cases to see who meets the new criteria. Just tell her to say something like “This case-by-case approach will enhance public safety”.
