You are completely worn out and you are not in the mood for any further demands on your resources. The situation - such as it is - has rendered you quite helpless, unable to continue the mental battle that you have been pursuing for some considerable time. Enough is enough. All you would like to do now would be to have some time for yourself, to find a peaceful situation where you can recuperate in your own time.

Constant need for all that’s new and exciting might lead you to be flaky or unreliable at times. You often lose interest in mundane, day-to-day routines and you have a tendency to start new projects before finishing old ones. Being grounded in what counts doesn't mean being boring! There is a place for your adventures and great, bold taste for life, but remember that sometimes life calls for a hot, comforting—and yes, boring—bowl of homemade chicken soup—nothing more and nothing less.

Dreaming:
Yikes! No wonder you dread going to sleep most nights.
For you, sleep is even more troubled than your waking life--though maybe not by much. In fact, it’s likely that neither your waking or dream lives are easy-going. How do we know? Dreams are very much a reflection of our real lives. If you're having recurring nightmares, sinister sightings, and the like in your sleep, then the chances are there’s something wrong during the day.

Fight or Flight:
You are a fighter who sticks around to confront whatever you come up against.
You rely on instinct and emotion. You run straight at danger as opposed to away from it and often without considering the consequences. This precipitous reaction can and probably has gotten you into trouble. It’s also probably saved you and/or others from harm.

Anxiety:
You're a proverbial bundle of nerves.
On edge in every way, it doesn't take much to strike fear in your heart and anxiety in your mind.

Clutter:
You may have mess, but at least it’s controlled. Or so you like to tell yourself. You know exactly where it is, and for you, that makes it all “ok”. In fact, much like an alcoholic or addict, you often comfort yourself by saying that you could “take care of it at any time, if you so chose”.

Fashion:
In your world view, high-fashion takes a backseat to function, practicality and other more important societal concerns. To you its what's inside that counts the most. There are better causes to support than Salvador Ferragamo. And anybody who thinks otherwise may not be viewed very favorably.

I'm feeling alive :D

Whee! Yesterday I was in Tahoe again with Seri. We went to North Star this time. I had it easy because Seri drove the whole trip. Thank you, Seri. :) I have a few very sore spots from the falls I took though. No matter, it was worth it. I wonder how Seri's doing. She fell pretty hard on her butt. I can't wait until we go again in a week or so. So spoiled am I!

...And, I finally visited the Oakland Museum of California on Sunday, March 16, with Lyle. That's something that I've been meaning to do for a couple of years, but just didn't. I am so glad we went because not only did I get to see the California native plant/animal/habitat art show, I found out that the museum has specimens and dioramas of native animals and habitats. What luck to have a local place I can go that not only houses animal specimens but is not crowded, so I can draw in peace. The other thing that made me feel a little better was the quality of the artwork in the show. This may be arrogant of me, but I was only impressed by a handful of them, so I felt hopeful that I wasn't a lost cause. May be next year I can enter a work or two? Aside from my laziness, I had been intimidated in the past about entering my drawings. The works of my classmates at Santa Cruz and the other science illustrators are so high caliber compared to what I saw at the museum. Did I assume incorrectly that most of the artists represented were going to be professional science illustrators?

Anyway, off to bed now so I can wake up early enough to go there tomorrow. I wanted to go today, but they're closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

70six.com is open :)

My brother's online T-shirt shop opened this weekend too. I am always impressed by his designs. Go brother!

Message from brother:
70six was created to fill the wants of T-shirt lovers with an eye for Asian influenced designs. The references are currently limited to my Japanese- Chinese-American upbringing, but there are plenty of people and places on this planet to help expand the boundaries of this T-shirt brand in the future. I hope you enjoy my T-shirts designs as much as I have enjoyed creating them.

Out-matched by squirrels :P

The squirrels have managed to chew a large hole through the container where I keep all the bird food/seeds. I am amazed that they were able to do that. The container is pretty sturdy, or so I thought. They are after the sunflower seeds mostly, but chewed a hole in the bag of raisins too. I've wedged a piece of wood where the hole is, but I have little confidence that will deter them for very long. I wish the seeds, peanuts, and apples I put out for them would satisfy them enough so they don't go after the rest of the supply.

It is pleasant sitting at the desk by the window upstairs. I can hear the birds chirping all day and I can see the water. The only thing I don't like is that I can also hear construction work as well. I really need to redouble my efforts to switch to a more "normal" schedule. It'd be better for me if I could be awake longer when the sun is out. More time to soak in the light, more time to listen to the birds.
