| Mr. Jones | Keeper |
Mr. Jones is a rex mix, so his fur is very soft and lush. He is very friendly and one of the most popular bunnies at the House Rabbit Society. I had my eye on him for a couple of months. During those months Gaburi died (10.5 yrs old) and Mr. Jones was adopted out to another person who wanted a pair of rabbits. Although the two got along at the shelter, when they were at the adopter's home they fought. Poor Mr. Jones came back to the HRS with multiple bite wounds.
Last weekend as I helped with the labeling and sorting of the HRS newsletter, I saw Mr. Jones again. Since I missed the opportunity to adopt him earlier I jumped at the chance this time. Karen, Mr. Jone's foster Mom, was sad to see him go. We promised to visit the shelter from time to time so she can see him. Estimated age: 3-5 yrs old.
Keeper was originally named "Mr. Buns." His previous owner/Mom had to suddenly ship out to Iraq because she was in the army. Heather from Rabbit Haven in Santa Cruz posted a message about Keeper on the rabbit newsgroup. I saw it and remebered how much I enjoyed my last trip to Santa Cruz. I emailed her saying I would be willing to transport him to Richmond and be his foster Mom until HRS had room for him. Of course, I already had in mind that I may very likely adopt him as well, which is exactly what I ended up deciding.
His coloration is just like Pecha's. A Himalyan. I was shocked when I first saw him because Heather had described him as cream colored and I had a totally different image in my head. He is 6 yrs old, laid back (like a Santa Cruzan!), and likes to hang out under my computer desk.
