Kehoe beach and Rabbit transport

My mother repeatedly stabbed me in my nightmare. That bothers me a little--like what the hell is going on in my mind. But then again I also had a nightmare where a 2 flocks of flamingos were involved...

Sunday was a very nice day. Lyle drove us to Point Reyes. We had planned to go hang out at Muir Woods and maybe sketch, but it was really crowded so we kept going northward on highway 1. We ended up parking by Kehoe Beach near Tomales Point and walked the trail leading to the beach. We were starving by the time we sat down to eat our Togo's sandwiches. Once our stomachs were satisfied, Lyle and I took a very nice, long walk up and down the beach. The weather was the best and the scenery was stunningly beautiful. Spending half the day there definitely lifted my mood. I kept wanting to touch/poke any creature I saw on the beach and Lyle kept getting grossed out by that. I don't know, I just like to touch everything... There was a flock of snowy plovers feeding along the water's edge too. Lyle wanted to see one get caught in the incoming waves and tumble (like the soft shelled crabs were doing). I had a good laugh when it was us that got caught unaware by one. Lyle got the brunt of it, ironically.

Despite the wonderful day, I am still very tired. I'm just going to let this take it's course. Tomorrow I'll be going down to Scotts Valley to pick up 3 abandoned rabbits and transport them up to the Richmond House Rabbit Society. I'm glad the mom, dad, and son are going to be together in one place again. No one knows why they were separated in the first place. Heather from Rabbit Rescue(?) told me they were being kept in unpleasant conditions right now and HRS would be like heaven for them. Knowing that makes me happy :)

Preparing to go to Santa Cruz.

Ooh. I'm a little excited about tomorrow. I won't enjoy seeing Lyle go to Texas, but I think I'll have a good time in Santa Cruz before I pick up the bunnies. Lyle's flight's at 8am, so we'll have to get up early. I hope that will help me get back on my early to bed early to rise routine again. I've been going to bed later than I would like since I came back from Japan.

The Rabbit is ready for tomorrow's trip. I folded down the back seats so the back area is nice and flat--I want the bunnies to have as smooth a ride as possible. The two pet carriers are in the back and I'm going to take my binoculars, tripod, and camera in case I see pelicans on the wharf. I'll test out how good the new(er) binoculars. They haven't been used in open spaces yet. It'd be nice to be by the open sea too :) Blue waters here I come!
