These past two days have been full of activity (at least for someone who’s a bum). Over the past two days, on average, I’ve been at about a 5.5 to 6.5. That’s pretty good :) Yesterday morning’s battle to get out of bed ended at 10:15am (woohoo!), so I made it to MZI by 11am. I did still have to battle Dad when leaving though. My mind was fairly agitated and I craved loud, fast music with a heavy beat to drown it out. So that’s what I listened to on the way to MZI (at least as loud as I could get Mom’s car speakers to be without getting the sound to distort on the bass end).
After MZI, I took Tony to the Santa Clara Valley Humane Society to look for Rocky. Going there brought back memories of ten years ago when I used to volunteer there. The sadness factor was still there—how could it not be sad to see so many animal that are so healthy, have done no wrong, and are so trusting and know that half of them are going to be put to sleep just because: 1. There are too many irresponsible people out there who just don’t care enough about their pets and 2. There aren’t enough funds to keep them alive (stupid money issue again)? Andrea and Charlotte no longer worked there, I was disappointed to find out. I wonder if they would have remembered me anyway… Tony and I looked at all the dogs there and searched through all the files on D.O.A. animals, newspaper listings, and lost/found files. Not much to go on… I asked for all the information and paperwork necessary to volunteer there before I left. I really want to help out somehow, but I know I have to get better myself, if I’m going to be able to do it on a regular basis. How can I work at a depressing place without getting depressed myself? So many needless deaths…
After our futile search at the Humane Society, we stopped by Miyake to get something to eat for lunch. I called the Wadas to let them know I’ll be half an hour later than usual. I had kanpyo rolls and a croquette lunch set. Too much food! I dropped off Tony before I headed over to Campbell to tutor. Tutoring went well, nothing out of the norm :)
I went walking for over an hour with Mom and it felt so good!
