How we die matters! If you're over 50, or have life limiting diagnoses, if you don't have an End of Life Plan, you're letting down yourself & your loved ones Consider thinkahead.ie or look at youtube.com/watch?v=ch3ND1… @EndOfLifeIE @IDsMAiD1 @DWDCanada @IMT_latest

A large proportion of Irish people having vaccine provided by The State would be very likely to make a personal donation if asked, to enable a citizen in a LMIC (eg Malawi)to be vaccinated ? RT if think this is a runner #WHO @DrMikeRyan

Direct Provision is shaping up to be the Mother & Child scandal of our era.
Shared bedrooms, communal toilets and showers, canteen for over 200 asylum seekers, and a kitchenette shared by 19 men. Now we hear of yet another #COVID19 case in a Direct Provision centre where dozens share 1 kitchen. Heaven help us! #EndDirectProvision #refugees #Ireland

It’s called NPHET, not NC19ET. Surely they should either go for a name change, or else start to meaningfully reflect on all of the other conditions that the other 32,000 people who usually die each year are dying of !? Eh ? #COVID19ireland

If you believe that Contraceptive Care should be made available free of charge to people who need it in Ireland (er....like it is in every other EU State 🤔🙃), please RETWEET this (front page ST yesterday). Simon Harris & Co to be applauded in moving on this..

The longer the pandemic goes on, the more we need to consider health issues other than Covid 19 From a GP perspective Increased alcohol/THC use Overweight Mental health issues Carer Burden Delayed Cardiac & Cancer diagnoses And GMHS (see below) are all of growing concern

    Replying to @FergalBowers
Proper thing Fergal. It’s personally upsetting and also it is an attack on quality and effective journalism - as such, an attack on an important aspect of our democracy. Enormous respect for your balanced and objective reporting always, and especially this last 18 months…

On duty at my GP Co Op Mid fifties man attends with forehead laceration Seen, sutured & discharged 22 minutes We see same numbers as local ED If he attended ED it takes hours 🙄😳 ? Why ? @IMT_latest @RCGP_RoI @aausgp_ireland @CormacLucey @irishmednews @RealEddieHobbs

49% of our NCHDs in Ireland are not on any formal training program. This is incredible. Profoundly unfair for them and fundamentally unsafe for public patients. @eilishor @FergalBowers @foley_rs @IrishHospice @SageAdvocacy @IMO_IRL @IMT_latest

Just over a year ago a 16 year old died after lying in ED in UCHL for over 10 hours of no active management. HSE had 1 consultant and 3 NCHDs trying to care for over 250 acute cases Quit virtue signalling and fix your HR issues folks 🙄😔 @IRE_FJD
Sepsis carries a 5 times higher mortality than acute myocardial infarction & stroke. Treat all patients presenting unwell with infection with a high index of suspicion for SEPSIS especially those who are immunocompromised, the very young, old & pregnant. #RecogniseSepsis

Having GP Teams work more hours - we're already dangerously over stretched We need more GPs & a lot more GP Nurses @IMT_latest @PriscillaLynch @gmcrotty @astaines @illonaduffy @eilishor Asking GPs to work extended hours may be unsafe newstalk.com/news/we-have-t… via @NewstalkFM

A 10 minute chat with any Intern, SHO or Registrar will remind you how utterly appallingly the HSE continues to treat our finest young people, up to and including IMGs working as NCHDs in our peripheral hospitals. Worse than Dickensian…. @IRE_FJD @loreillysf @DrMartinDaly
I am absolutely horrified at the latest missive from @HSELive with regard to asking new consultants to accept a contract which does not exist - Am I surprised?- No- the distinct dislike and "hate" of doctors is endemic in HSE - Relationships fractured before employment

Dumping on a major scale Profoundly disrespectful of these patients and their GPs/GPNs What are we doing with these when they arrive ? @IMT_latest @WalleyRay @illonaduffy @mike0callaghan @gmcrotty @Medcafe1 @austinpbyrne @austinoc_austin @gpbuddy @karencanning
