If you support end of life choices & want the choice of a Voluntary Assisted Death, if diagnosed with a terminal illness ๐Ÿ”ถPlease Act Now๐Ÿ”ถ Donโ€™t put off contacting TDs to tell them you support the Dying With Dignity Bill. Tell them now, in order for the Bill to progress.

"To impede or obstruct this choice is to take away someoneโ€™s dignity, to subtract someoneโ€™s autonomy, and ultimately to disrespect their moral agency.ย " #WeSupportVicky The question is will our politicians? Will you?

Dr @Liz_ORiordan tells it as it needs to be. The need for truth & support for patients in the face of additional or futile treatments & respecting when a patient decides they have had enough. @IDsMAiD1 @IMT_latest @drbosheaGP @DrMarkMurphy @drbriankennedy @walls2 @janielazar
โ€œHow many tests and treatments do I want to go through that might make me feel ill and miserable?" @Liz_ORiordan on telling the truth as a doctor and supporting patients to feel OK about their onward journey - whatever they decide to do.

MND is cruel. @charliebird49's plea last night to take care of one another, to make time for people matters more than ever. He spoke openly, bravely of his fear of how he will die as has @PhelanVicky their journeys resonating with many in Ireland. Holding them both in ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ’š

We want action. NOT INTENTIONS. If we don't get it done by Christmas, we'll certainly get it up and running in the first session of next year and that will be our intention." @LeoVaradkar this is what was said last year. #AssistedDying #ActionNotWords #Vicky

Ireland is more than ready Claire. It is wanted. Needed and politicians must not be allowed to kick this into the long grass, which they would still be doing if dear Vicky had not come out in support of it. Please let's talk. Legislation can provide choice&protect everyone.

If you have ever sat with a dying person, talked with a dying person, looked them in the eye and heard what they really want when they say they have had enough, then you would understand why the choice of an assisted death should be legislated for. #assisteddying #VADforIreland
