Fr Peter McVerry starkly spelling out the unequal, unfair application of law in Ireland; for the haves & have nots. @PMVTrust

Unable to get any patient tested for #COVID19 for about 6 days. Most GPs would have a similar experience. Have told persons with likely symptoms to self isolate. Important to be aware of this, Ireland has unknown but large number of symptomatic persons in the community.

Weird headline. At least 300 GPs stayed, listened, discussed this issue for 4 hours. ‘At least 40 GPs walk out of meeting on abortion services’

The 8th Amendment was designed to prevent abortion. It has harmed and killed Irish women and has not prevented abortion. It has placed unsafe abortion in Ireland, forced 170,000 to travel and prevented access to healthcare. Time to right this national shame. #together4Yes

I’m conscious that the language used during #cblive was insulting & stigmatising to the 10,000s couples and women negatively affected by #the8th. And there was no testimony from @TFMRIRE on the distress they experienced. Onwards & upwards to #VoteYes on 25th May. #Together4Yes

Tired after a long 2 weeks, 20 hours wearing a mask on-and-off in GP, 60 hours in-and-out of PPE in a hub, teaching in @RCSI_Irl . Kitchen is a state. Dog under-walked. Maybe that partly explains my frustration, but the COVID19 commentary is off-focus & opinion-laden. (thread)

I have spent 6 years (gulp) on a PhD. Viva is this Thursday morning. It is a hard life-event to prepare for, so was feeling a little frazzled earlier, until a colleague just told me just to enjoy it....🤞

I’m very proud to be one member of a growing network of doctors providing abortion services in Ireland @IrishTimes@Doctors4Choice⁩ ⁦@Startdoctors

Doesn’t really matter who @SimonHarrisTD & @mairenihuigin debate against on #rtept. They have facts, medical & legal evidence, front-line medical experience and human rights on their side. #Together4Yes

Sounds like many in 🇮🇪 are coming around to the fact that we don’t have a State-funded primary mental health care system (based around GP). One of the biggest, yet unspoken, travesties of our current health service.

Proud to see a national movement of #men4yes. Men need to show our sisters, friends and partners, that we support a compassionate response to the complexity of crisis pregnancy. Together we can reverse the damage & distress caused by the 8th Amendment. #together4yes

What an incredible team and national movement which @Together4yes represented, from the Co-Directors to the Canvassers, placing women’s stories front and centre. #Together4Yes brought Irish society and politics together, to care and show compassion for women in Ireland. So proud.

This is shocking from a FG Minister. Actually celebrating the removal of a healthcare service for a vulnerable patient group.
