I have had over 250 consultations this week Stress or anxiety has been the primary or secondary concern for the vast majority of people. I appreciate we need social restrictions but there needs to be some adaptation to bring some fresh positivity into people's lives. Please.

My admin staff came in to work every single day during an epidemic. They put their own health at risk to facilitate the care of others. If you think it is ever ok to be rude, abusive, derogatory or dismissive towards a medical secretary - you are a dick.

Finally happened - finally lost my temper with someone with a cough refusing a Covid test. I feel bad but I'm so tired of people with respiratory symptoms asking for a consult but being awkward about getting tested first. If you have a cough, you need a PCR test. End of story.

The HSE gets a lot of slack. It's a big, slow moving, easy target. Yet, despite all (bed shortages, covid, cyber attacks), the teams still keep going. Doing what they can, for who they can. It's far from perfect, but it keeps on going. That deserves respect.

My little boy Theo has been in hospital since Monday. His GP and the staff of UHG have been nothing short or incredible. He’s well on the mend and we’ll never be able to thank them all enough 😊❤️🙏

I have seen 40 patients so far today. Now after my last appointment I have 30 patients charts to review for queries and prescriptions. Then I will review approx 80 blood tests. Then I will look at my post. Then I will hopefully go home. This is a normal day for an Irish GP.

In Ireland up to 500 people die of flu each year, this is over twice the number of people who have died from Corona virus. This is a terrible outbreak & needs to be controlled but if you are worried about catching a deadly virus, please get a Flu vaccine. It could save your life.

To the @GardaTraffic 👮‍♀️who stopped me a checkpoint and was so nice when I told him I was a GP on my way to work; thanks, you made my morning 😊

I’ve looked at a thousand of these but seeing your own partner’s is pretty special 😊🤰❤️

My sister's advice to my parents on phone scams: "No one will ever call to give you money. As long as you remember that, you'll be fine." Perfect.

Having quite a few requests for letters exempting people from wearing masks. There is about as much chance of getting one of these from your GP as getting a letter exempting from having to wear clothes in general. Masks may be hot, stuffy, uncomfortable but they are saving lives.

Can we please get a brief dispensation from the Medical Council that we can tell someone they are being fucking idiot without fear of being reported? Isolate if you have symptoms or are a close contact! Calling people with coughs and they are out shopping! Mental.

This is Harley, who is currently training up to be our practice therapy dog. No real point to this tweet. I just love him ❤️🐶
