The Katy High School Softball team captured its State Title in 2026

A perfectly timed fastball by Katy High School freshman pitcher Haley Schmitt and a quick throw from catcher Maddie Smith to first base picked off the runner to seal the deal. A sea of red erupted in the stands at McCombs Field in Austin as Tiger fans cheered the newly crowned UIL 6A Division II Softball Champions. The team stormed the pitching circle to celebrate as the 7-2 victory over Forney capped off a dominating 39-5 season.
