About Us

Membee is a wholly-owned subsidiary of  IRM-Systems, Inc., a privately-held database software development firm that specializes in serving associations, membership-based organizations, and other not-for-profits. Formed in 1991 with an intention to build membership management software, IRM Systems has steadily expanded over 30 years from a small start-up to an established software provider with over 500 client organizations and thousands of users worldwide.

With a culture of innovation and a reputation for never accepting that using technology needs to be “hard”, the company continued to push boundaries with the release of Membee in mid-2009, the new fully web-based version of IRM’s industry leading membership software platform. Harnessing the power of the Internet  was a risk at the time and it just seemed appropriate that a new symbol be found that represented the new product.

A global search and competition was held for a new look and that is where we first met our little bee. We took a liking to the little guy almost instantly because of what he (could be a “she” – we’re not sure) stood for – hardworking, smart, enterprising, and part of a greater community.

We could write volumes here but the short version is the merging battle ready mature technologies, along with some solid economics, and a adding in a sprinkle of cutting edge innovation like AI, the future is bright for membership-based. Never before have organizations with great need and the absence of great resources had the opportunity to truly put technology to work for their cause or profession.
