Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. i. 😀🎀💝🎁🌺🌹MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY. WEDNESDAY APRIL 15, 2026. "INSTRUMENT RATED (7)" ‘Lead me, O Lord…make straight Your way before me.’ Psalm 5:8 NIV INSTRUMENT RATED for direction. The compass has always been the pilot’s best friend. Most planes are equipped with two. How can you know the will of God? ‘…A man named Agabus, who also had the gift of prophecy, arrived from Judea. He came over, took Paul’s belt, and bound his own feet and hands with it. Then he said, “The Holy Spirit declares, ‘So shall the owner of this belt be bound by the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem and turned over to the Gentiles.’” When we heard this, we and the local believers all begged Paul not to go on to Jerusalem. But he said, “Why all this weeping? You are breaking my heart! I am ready not only to be jailed at Jerusalem but even to die for the sake of the Lord Jesus.” When it was clear that we couldn’t persuade him, we gave up and said, “The Lord’s will be done”’ (Acts 21:10-14 NLT). Notice, the confusion here was not over God’s will; that was clear. It was over fear concerning Paul’s life. Here we have a perfect example of letting our emotions get in the way of our spirit. It is by our spirit, not our mind, and certainly not our emotions, that we understand the ways and directions of the Lord. ‘For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God’ (Romans 8:14 KJV). You must not be led by ‘voices, dreams, and “fleeces”’ (Judges 6:37-40). Sometimes these things support and confirm what you sense in your spirit to be God’s will, but they are never to be the sole deciding factor. Your compass is God’s Word! DANIEL'S PRAYER LIFE "Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before." - Daniel 6:10 The story of Daniel tells us how we are able to touch God and how God touches us. Daniel represented God's holiness in a time of wickedness. Just as Daniel lived in Babylon, we live in a wicked modern Babylon today. As Daniel was able to remain faithful to the living God in those days of idolatry, so are we! No matter how bad the time is and will be. Daniel could not only hold on to his faith, but also pray in such a way that God could speak to him and touch him. This certainly applies to us today, because God is always the same (see Hebrews 13:8). In Daniel 6 we read that Daniel was appointed as one of the three government administrators supervising 120 officers. Daniel surpassed the others and the king intended to appoint him all over the kingdom. That caused jealousy and the other government administrators tried to find a fault in Daniel. A man of great faith What strikes me is that Daniel was a praying man. He prayed three times a day and did this faithfully. His enemies could not find anything against Daniel, so they convinced the king to draft a law that any person who would make a request to a god or person except for the king within thirty days, would be thrown into the lions' den. Daniel continued to pray to the God of heaven, even though he knew it could cost him his life. Daniel's prayer life made him a man of great faith. When Daniel was thrown into the lions' den, he did not say a word. His faith in the living God shut the mouth of the lions (see Hebrews 11:33). We see that Daniel's life was very blessed. God revealed to him the mysteries of the future. While in exile and living in a sinful environment, Daniel remained holy, devoted and pure before the Lord his God. Morning Prayer Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. ⏤ Psalm 119:105 A thorough knowledge of the Bible is worth more than a college education. ⏤ Dwight L. Moody Father, please bless the words we’ve read together this morning. We’re grateful that here in this world, we can read the very words of Heaven and hear Your voice speaking to us. Help us to honor and love Your word. Help us to keep its truths in our hearts so that they can bless and transform our lives. Help us to lean on Your promises like we lean on a staff for support. Help us to take refuge in Your word, just as someone fleeing danger would hide in the cleft of a rock. Let Your word be a lamp to guide our way, showing us the right path. May it be our counselor, guiding us through life’s challenges. Let the lessons we’ve learned this morning touch and bless everything we do today. May its holy truths inspire us, strengthen us, and give us life. Let them be a source of motivation, stirring within us and energizing us. May they build up our character and show us our duties at every step. We can’t live without You. We need Your presence every moment. May we receive Your strength to make us strong for every task and challenge. We pray for everyone in our home. We also pray for our loved ones, wherever they are, that they may be kept safe and in good health. We pray for those who are sick, for the poor and troubled, for those traveling by sea, for those in danger, and for orphaned children. A man in receipt of his wages is given what he has earned and has what he deserves. In the same manner, sin has its own particular price and the wages of sin is death. The just and fair deserts of sin is death – and death is the loathsome reward for sin. Fair Reward The just deserts of the sinner are not a negotiated salary but are ordained of God. No sinner will be unfairly treated, but all will receive the only fair reward for sin.. and the wages of sin for every sinner is death.. and death is non-negotiable. Faces of Sin There are many faces of sin and different kinds of sin but every sin deserves death. There are open sins committed in the body and veiled sins that mature in the mind. There are hidden sins and visible ones, for man’s very nature is streaked with evil – and the just decree of a holy God is death – for death is the reward for sin. Terrible Master The terrible master of man is sin and man is the slave and servant of sin. This profound reality is a devastating truth that touches every strand of humanity – and every man deserves his due reward and each must be paid their just desert. Pleasure of Sin The pleasure of sin maybe sweet for a moment but its bitter taste is never-ending. The seeds of evil are vanity and the buds of iniquity bear the bitter fruit of sin, for the wages of sin is death…. BUT the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Payment for Sin The price for all sin was paid for in full by the blood of the sinless Lamb of God. The sins of the world were paid for by the blood that flowed from Christ’s veins – mystery of mystery that God’s own Son should die for me – and die for you. Forever Forgiven And from His unblemished sacrifice.. streams out God’s grace to a fallen race of man. And from His justifying righteousness issues forth regeneration for those who believe. And Christ received the wages for my sins and yours so we could be forever forgiven. And He paid the price in full so that we could receive the gift of eternal life instead. Salvation in Christ The gift of God is salvation through Christ and eternal life is a beautiful consequence. Salvation is offered to all and given to those that believe on the Son of God: for all have sinned and the wages for all is death – but God sent His Son so that all who believe in His work on Calvary would be saved. Total Righteousness And His gift to all who trust on His name is a justifying righteousness:- regeneration; sanctification; glorification; a new creation in Christ, and the grace of God and peace with God, and faith and hope and love and joy, and the indwelling Spirit and a heavenly inheritance – and eternal life: for He washed us from our sins in His own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father, to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. i. 😀🌹🎀🎁💝🌺 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY. TUESDAY APRIL 14, 2026. "INSTRUMENT RATED (6)" '......The Father seeketh such to worship Him.’  John 4:23 INSTRUMENT RATED for discouragement. God has promised to give you ‘…beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness…’ (Isaiah 61:3 KJV). Satan can’t stand it when someone other than himself is receiving praise and honour, so the spirit of heaviness will lift when you begin to praise your God. It will fall off you like a garment. The weight will be gone. Your pity party will turn to a scene of gladness. Here’s something remarkable: Jesus said, ‘…The Father seeketh such to worship Him…in spirit and in truth’ (John 4:23-24 KJV). When you begin to worship God - instead of you seeking Him, He starts seeking you! And since He knows where to find you at all times, He blesses you, strengthens you and causes you to rise above your discouragement. You can literally praise your way through the storm! When an instructor is teaching a new student to fly, he constantly reminds the student to keep the nose of the plane up. New students are likely to keep the nose of the plane down so they can better see where they are going. Also, the plane has a natural tendency to fall - if you let it. When you keep your head up and your eyes on Jesus, your heart begins to rejoice even in the toughest test. It takes effort, but it’s worth it. Remember, you don’t always win every fight in the first round. But if you hang in there and keep answering the bell with praise, you will be victorious. Why? THE PLACE OF TROUBLE "Some went out to sea in ships to buy and sell on the great waters. They have seen what the Lord can do and His great works on the sea. For He spoke and raised up a storm that lifted up the waves of the sea. They went up to the heavens and down to the deep. Their strength of heart left them in their danger. They could not walk straight but went from side to side like a drunk man. They did not know what to do." - Psalm 107:23-27 These sailors ended up in a place called trouble. It is a place where sooner or later every Christian will end up. In this place you do not see a way out. You do not have more options. No more escape, no help and no rescue in sight. Faith is tested Strangely enough, the place of trouble is a place where God can take you to, because the Bible scripture says: 'He spoke and raised up a storm.' There are storms in life that are not from the evil one or because of sin. God sometimes puts you in a place for His purpose to test your faith. In verses 28-31 of Psalm 107 we read: 'Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble. And He took them out of all their problems. He stopped the storm, and the waves of the sea became quiet. Then they were glad because the sea became quiet. And He led them to the safe place they wanted. Let them give thanks to the Lord for His loving-kindness and His great works to the children of men! Trust Him fully God continues to bring us to the place called trouble, until we learn to fully trust Him no matter what happens. He did that over and again with Israel. He had promised to take care of them during the journey through the desert. Yet they again doubted His goodness and protection and He had to bring them back to this place called trouble. Are you also at that place? Has God allowed you to be there? He is testing you. We seek Your blessing before we go out. We aren’t strong enough on our own for the tasks ahead today, so we ask for Your strength. We can’t resist the temptations we’ll face without Your help, so we ask for the grace to overcome them. We don’t always know the best choices to make, so we pray for the wisdom to walk in holiness. Graciously remember us, Your children, O God, and don’t hold our sins against us. Instead, in Your mercy, bless and save us. Teach us to do Your will. Help us to live today in a way that pleases You. Let us not grieve You or hurt Your heart of love through carelessness, unbelief, or disobedience. We ask You to bless us in our work and all our daily duties. Help us to be faithful in everything we do and skilled in our work. Help us to see our everyday tasks as part of our Father’s business. In this way, may we glorify You through the work of our hands. We don’t just pray for ourselves and our own home. We pray for our neighbors. May Your blessing rest on their homes. Some of them don’t know You. No prayers rise to You from their homes. For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” 11. Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.” 12. The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.” 13. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” 14. He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. *TOPIC:* BRINGS REDEMPTION. *THE MESSAGE:* To redeem is to liberate by payment of a ransom. Today's text contrasts the curse of the law with the blessing of faith in Christ. Relying on the law, which is based on performance, brings a curse because no one can perfectly obey it (Deut. 27:26). In contrast, justification comes through faith, as seen in the life of Abraham. Christ has redeemed believers from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for and bearing their punishment. Through His sacrificial death, the blessing promised to Abraham comes to the Gentiles so that all may receive the promised Spirit through faith. Therefore, Christ's redemptive work is sufficient in securing your righteousness before God. Have you been redeemed? If not, invite Jesus into your life today and begin to live worthy of your new identity. *REFLECTION:* Jesus alone redeems. *PRAYER:* Thank You, Jesus, for paying the price for my redemption. "INSTRUMENT RATED (5)" '…Do not be dismayed, for I am your God…’  Isaiah 41:10 NIV INSTRUMENT RATED for depression. Depression, if left unchecked, can cause you to do some crazy things, like walk away from a good job or a healthy marriage, or turn to alcohol and drugs. The dictionary defines depression as ‘to be flattened vertically or dispirited’. Now you know why sometimes you don’t want to get out of bed in the morning. The word ‘depression’ is not mentioned in Scripture. The closest definition to it is ‘heaviness’. ‘Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop…’ (Proverbs 12:25 KJV). The toughest battles you will ever fight will be those with your own mind. What’s the answer? Start speaking God’s Word - out loud! ‘For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. So we may boldly say: “…The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”’ (Hebrews 13:5-6 NKJV). Pastor Sarah Utterbach points out: ‘People say, “The Lord has promised never to leave me nor forsake me”, then they go right back to discussing their problem. Live as children of light… and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them' (Ephesians 5:7-11). The root of the problem The Netherlands has dethroned God - people do not want the living God - and the effect is seen everywhere, especially among the young people. The more churches are being closed, the fewer Christian norms and values will be considered. This is the root of our problem. God has been replaced by moral standards of the wicked man who does not want to know God and His commandment. However, it is impossible to have peace and prosperity without God. We are today at a historical moment of church history. God calls us to be involved in the great work to take possession of the Netherlands. I want you to believe that this is a word of God. What we need are people who long to break down and destroy the strongholds of the evil one. This is not possible in your own strength; you need the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the only One who is able to do this through us. We do not fight against people, but against invisible beings (see Ephesians 6:12). Perhaps the evil one has taken your husband, wife, son or daughter into captivity. However, we are able to break down the strongholds of the evil one in Jesus' name. We should not fight against each other, but rather help each other in the fight. If someone falls, we should help him or her to stand up again. He knew what men considered Him to be – the reincarnation of some past prophet: ”But who do you say that I am?” was His question, “what think ye of Me?” Each one of us needs to consider Jesus. Each of us needs to be equipped with a right thinking of Him. Simple Question The multifaceted, superlative attributes of God are indeed most astonishing, and we do well to consider them in reverence and awe. For He is almighty, immutable, transcendent and eternal. He is divinely omniscience. He is the omnipotent, omnipresent, tri-unity – He is indeed sovereign and infinite. And yet these holy and godly abstractions are condensed into concrete reality.. in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ, and He asks His simple yet searching question, “what think ye of Me?” Astonishing Answer We are not expected to attempt to understand mental abstractions of God’s character.. although His unsurpassed, preeminent, excellent magnificence is ever before us. Yet in the simplest and most wonderful way He told us Who He is: “He that has seen Me has seen the Father.” He who has seen Me has seen God. John 14:9 Generating Centre We are expected, by faith, to listen to His Word and to accept His explanation, for Jesus is the only medium, the only link – the only channel to the Father. He has made us His dwelling place and we are indeed the temple of the most High, but modern ethics and thinking considers God and humanity as one and the same! But this is to distort the simple fact that God was manifest in the flesh in Jesus, so that He might become the generating centre of all Who believe in His name. Heart Submission Jesus proclaimed ‘I and My Father are One.” – for “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1 The believer is one with Christ when His Spirit resides within. He wants us to rest in Him and submit to His leading and guiding through His Spirit. Indeed, heart submission is His dear desire for each of His own: “Abide in me, and I in you” John 15:7 Submit or Resist But submission is a choice. Some chose to resist His Spirit – and some choose to quench His Spirit, while others in the conceits of their own hearts, by self-effort, seek to imitate Him. Many make great effort to emulate and copy the life of the Lord Jesus. Many also seek to carry out His commands through their own will and ability.. but we can never become like Him though endeavour, imitation or self-effort. Human Strategies We can never be like Him by applying human strategies or human programs. We cannot curb the fleshly tempers or appetites by conscious effort or monastic existence. This is the thinking of the world but it should never be that of the believer. When a man attempts thus to design his living, to reflect that of Christ, he will fail. A wayfaring man that so errs in the ways of God, is wise in his own conceits. Pure Diagnosis God will often apply His chastising rod on the back of such a man or woman of His. God uses all the facts and realities of life to humble us before His throne of grace, and through our self-analysis or introspection we discover our efforts are in vain.. until at last the Holy Spirit gains our attention – until in the end He makes His pure diagnosis of our vain, self-efforts. Painful Process He will then take us through His profoundly, painful process. He will use this and that heartbreaking strategy to gain our exhausted attention, until in discouragement we see that we are not, by effort, able to become like Him.. until in desperation we cry:- “depart from me for I am a sinful man O Lord..” Luke 5:8 – until all such aspects or attitudes are rooted out by the Spirit’s two-edged sword. Central Citadel Any aspect or attitude of our lives which are not of Christ have their roots in Self, but the central citadel and supreme stronghold of Christianity is Jesus Christ alone, The very person of the Lord Jesus Christ is to be the central focus of our hearts. He is the Alpha and Omega of all life’s struggles. He is the the supreme Staff and Standard. Either you submit willingly to being conformed into the image of His Son – or through time, He will apply innumerable painful strategies to make you like Him. How we want to excuse their little foibles and disregard their faults and failings. “What would Jesus do..?” – we ask ourselves… He would love them and He would forgive them… we tell ourselves. Really!!! Part Truth That may be the truth but it’s not the whole truth, but only part of the truth! And a half truth is no truth if the whole truth is not supplied, Jesus would indeed love them, but Jesus would also correct them. Half Truth How important it is to discipline ourselves into disillusionment. How vital to come to the place where we see men and women as they truly are.. where we see ourselves as we truly are. But in our foolish and shallow Christian walk we often prefer to trust in our illusions. Whole Truth The one taken in adultery was given the whole truth and told to go a sin no more. The one that was healed was also told the whole truth and told to go a sin no more: “Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.” John 5:14 Loving Aright If we truly love God rightly then we will love others aright, but if we do not love God rightly, then we can never love others aright. If we truly love others rightly we will love them with His love. If we truly love others we will remove all man-erected illusions – we will see and love men as women through the eyes of disillusionment. Christlike Eyes Through Him our love will have no cynicism, bitterness, cruelty or dissatisfaction.. and through Him we will not overlook flaws and weaknesses – faults and failings But through Him we will love with the sharpness of a double-edged sword. Some chose to resist His Spirit – and some choose to quench His Spirit, while others in the conceits of their own hearts, by self-effort, seek to imitate Him. Many make great effort to emulate and copy the life of the Lord Jesus. Many also seek to carry out His commands through their own will and ability.. but we can never become like Him though endeavour, imitation or self-effort. Human Strategies We can never be like Him by applying human strategies or human programs. We cannot curb the fleshly tempers or appetites by conscious effort or monastic existence. This is the thinking of the world but it should never be that of the believer. When a man attempts thus to design his living, to reflect that of Christ, he will fail. A wayfaring man that so errs in the ways of God, is wise in his own conceits. Pure Diagnosis God will often apply His chastising rod on the back of such a man or woman of His. God uses all the facts and realities of life to humble us before His throne of grace, and through our self-analysis or introspection we discover our efforts are in vain.. until at last the Holy Spirit gains our attention – until in the end He makes His pure diagnosis of our vain, self-efforts. Painful Process He will then take us through His profoundly, painful process. He will use this and that heartbreaking strategy to gain our exhausted attention, until in discouragement we see that we are not, by effort, able to become like Him.. until in desperation we cry:- “depart from me for I am a sinful man O Lord..” Luke 5:8 – until all such aspects or attitudes are rooted out by the Spirit’s two-edged sword. Central Citadel Any aspect or attitude of our lives which are not of Christ have their roots in Self, but the central citadel and supreme stronghold of Christianity is Jesus Christ alone, The very person of the Lord Jesus Christ is to be the central focus of our hearts. He is the Alpha and Omega of all life’s struggles. He is the the supreme Staff and Standard. Either you submit willingly to being conformed into the image of His Son – or through time, He will apply innumerable painful strategies to make you like Him. "INSTRUMENT RATED (3)" ‘The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.’ Psalm 119:130 NKJV IN ORDER for you to be instrument rated, an instructor will accompany you on your training missions. The instructor will place a long-billed cap on your head, so that all you can see is the instrument panel in front of you. That’s because this is all you’ll be able to see when you’re flying in storm conditions. You must learn to work your instruments and radio, doing many turns and being able to bring the plane down within a few feet of the landing strip. And you must do all this without ever looking to see where you are, without the confirmation of your senses. This simulated blindness, causing confusion to the average person, is soon overcome by disciplined training. The flights ‘under the hood’, as the procedure’s called, become merely routine flights. What happens when unprepared Christians are plunged into darkness by the trials of life? They begin to question what’s happening. Everything was going well; all they could see ahead was fair weather. But now they’ve lost their sense of direction because they have not spent time in God’s Word. They have not been taught to trust God regardless of what they see or feel, so they get discouraged, sometimes backslide, and sometimes even blame God and get swallowed up in bitterness. Paul writes to Timothy, ‘Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analysing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth’ (2 Timothy 2:15 AMP).                                                     Bible In A Year: Lev 26-27, Ps 56, Pro 10:8-9. GOD'S PLAN FOR HUMANITY "For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight." - Ephesians 1:4 Hundreds of years before Jesus came to earth, the prophets had already predicted that He would come. Somehow people could not understand this great plan of God. The Bible teaches us that God's plan of salvation and deliverance was ready before the creation of the world. This is impossible to grasp with our limited mind. Nobody understood it God sent His Son to earth at the right time and in a special way. He was born by a simple virgin who loved God. Jesus' contemporaries did not understand that God was fulfilling the word He had spoken through His servants earlier. When Jesus began His ministry, many did not understand what He was doing and hated Him. Even His family did not understand Jesus. The hatred of the theologians of that time was so great that they wanted to kill Him. His own fellow citizens did not understand Him. 'And they were ashamed of Him and turned away because of Him' (Matthew 13:57). Let's not say: 'Nobody understands me.' If there was One who knows what loneliness is and how it feels to be despised and rejected, then it is Jesus. The climax of this desolation took place on the cross. Put your faith in God alone Even the disciples did not understand what Jesus was doing. However, Jesus knew why He came to earth. He knew He had to fulfil a Master Plan: salvation for humanity, for anyone who wants to receive it (see John 3:16). Jesus had to fulfill His purpose alone. He did not put his faith in people, but in God the Father alone. This is an important lesson for us. We thank You for all the blessings of the week, which came to us in so many ways—through Your providence, through our friends, through our work. We’ve had food to eat and clothes to wear. Almost certainly the first consideration is death – your own physical death. Perhaps it’s the thought of a raging battle-field or risks like those at Dunkirk.. Maybe protecting a loved one or a threatened stranger needing your gallant sanctuary – and death of this mortal body so another can live, truly shows great character and love. For Their Sakes In the case of John 15:13 our thoughts immediately fly to the Lord Jesus. He died on the cross, uttering the words: “it is finished“, so that we might live. But take a closer look at the deeper meaning of this greatest of all love: “For their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified through the truth” John 17:19 Total Surrender Laying down of that precious life was more than forgoing His physical life alone, it encompassed a note of total surrender of every aspect of human life and existence. He sacrificed His entire holy life to the Father – “Thy will .. be be done“, Luke 22:42 – but He did it for our sake: “for their sakes I sanctify myself.” John 17:19 He did it for you and He did it for me. Christ demonstrated throughout His whole life, what true submission to God means. Willing Submission Think about it…. He laid down the thing that most of us cling to unrelentingly. He subjugated His entire being to the will of the Father… completely – total temporal subjection, utter spiritual and sensual subordination: “I do nothing of myself, but as my Father has taught me I speak these things.” John 8:28. What a challenge to each of us – to see the willing submission of the Lord Jesus. I wonder, do you thus submit to the will of your Lord and Saviour? – do I? – or are we entangled in the tentacled web of spiritual insubordination ? Wilful Perversity Insubordination means that we do not submit our impulses or intuitions to Him. Insubordination means that we do not yield our lives to His leading and guiding – Yet Christ, although He was God’s Son, learned to be obedient throughout His life. He learned obedience by the things which He suffered .” Heb.5:8. Insubordination means we resent His correction and are aggrieved at His discipline. Insubordination means disobedience, wilful perversity – and even rebellion. Illegitimate Children The writer to the Hebrews gives some important insight into obedience, but if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.” Heb.12:8. These are challenges we all need to explore honestly, thoroughly and earnestly, for we are soon to meet Him in the clouds. Are we ready or will He find us wanting? Fleshly Logic To submit our will to His is one of the biggest challenges any one of us faces, for it conflicts in every possible way with our own self-preservation and fleshly logic. Our will touches every aspect of our active being…. but how difficult we find laying it all at the Masters feet. Spiritual Struggle Sometimes we struggle throughout our entire Christian life to utter the words… Thy will – not mine be done…” Luke 22:42 Thy will be done, in every sphere of my sovereign being. We occupy our little lives with this and that.. working for Him and helping as we can.. while He simply waits and waits for us to expend all our ‘huffings’ and ‘puffings!’ He waits and waits while all our individual energies are slowly curbed and constrained – and little by little He dislocates each muscle, each tendon, each sinew of our will. Abiding Reality He desires each life to be sanctified for His use, and patiently waits for submission, until like our Lord we can say:- “I do nothing of myself.. but as the Father leads.” – until we too can say with Paul:- “I am bought with a price … I am not my own.” Each one of us needs to be brought face to face with the reality what we are. We need to face up to the challenge of one abiding reality – GOD – We need to face up to the Reality of Who He is. “I AM WHO I AM.” God’s Ambassadors While on earth we are the hands, the feet, the ambassadors of almighty God. The church, which is His body are the only human representatives of I Am. Should we not tremble at the awful reality of Whom we are denying into our lives. If or when we kick against the pricks of His sovereign rulership. Let us in humility of heart lay all we are, at His feet? "INSTRUMENT RATED (2)" ‘The precepts of the Lord are right…giving light to the eyes.’  Psalm 19:8 NIV IN THEIR effort to steer around one storm, many pilots end up in another that’s even worse. But the instrument-rated pilot can fly directly into it. He can be totally ‘fogged in’, yet watch his instruments and fly without fear. But in order to do this he must have many hours of training in simulated storm conditions. Trouble, to him, is normal. He has gone through it many times and knows what to do in an emergency. He knows how to use his radio and receive help from the radar centres. He knows how to stay on the radio beams that are criss-crossing the skies for his safety. The mountain that suddenly looms before him first shows up on the controller’s radar scope, so the controller can guide the straying plane around it. Actually, if a pilot is not instrument rated, it’s illegal for him to be in a storm. Why? Because if he hasn’t taken the time, or felt it important to do his homework and be prepared, the billions of pounds’ worth of equipment is no use to him. How do you prepare for the storms of life? By spending time in God’s Word. In-depth knowledge of your Bible is necessary if you’re to be ‘certified’ to navigate life’s storms. If you wait until trouble comes to find a Scripture to help you, you have waited too long. GET TO KNOW YOURSELF "Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone." - John 8:7 While Jesus was teaching, the teachers of the law and the Pharisees came to Him. They came with an evil purpose. They brought a woman caught in adultery and they made her stand before the group. They were always out to set a trap for Jesus in order to accuse Him. They said to Jesus: 'Teacher, this woman has broken the law of Moses. She was caught in the act of adultery. Moses orders us to stone her. What is Your opinion? They tried to trick Jesus, but He did not answer them. He bent down and started to write on the ground with His finger. This was a difficult situation. Jesus had to decide while everyone else was watching. According to Jewish law, there was only one punishment for such an act. He who always preached about forgiveness and love, now had to tell them to stone her. If the woman was not punished, they would say: 'We got Him. He is disobedient to the law.' The Bible does not say what Jesus wrote, but it might be that He was writing some of their sins on the ground. Do not quickly judge Jesus teaches us here that we should not be quick to judge someone else. We should be careful with our words and not easily point the finger. Paul says: 'You who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things' (Romans 2:1). Jesus put an end to this conversation with a few words. He stood up and said to them: 'Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone.' This story is about knowing yourself. This seems to be incredibly difficult. After Jesus spoke, they all left; one by one. Jesus straighten up again and said to her: 'Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you'? And she said: 'No one, Sir.' And Jesus said: 'Then neither do I condemn you.' Jesus did not condemn this woman and said to her: 'Go now and leave your life of sin.' Are you a religious ‘thinker’ or are your thoughts concentrated on Christ? How easy it is to rely on denominational type doctrine for our spiritual thoughts, How undemanding to rest your eternal future on your own spiritual knowledge. How facile to rest your spiritual growth on a reservoir of religious facts, How easy to consider .. sanctification rests on the accumulation of past bible studies. Spiritual Concentration But this type of thinking causes a spiritual stupor to descend upon an individual. This type of thinking causes men to drift into a deep, spiritual sleep. The one that is devoted to doctrinal type thinking, has no need to think, and one that considers their own spirituality is sufficient, is sorely deceived. It is not more knowledge that is required – but a deeper concentration on Christ. It is not more spiritual activity that is needed – but Christo-Centric Concentration. Meaning of the Cross “Wake up!!” “Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain” Rev.3:2 “Repent!!” “Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen.” Rev.2:5 Rouse yourself and get eyeball to eyeball with the cross of Christ, There is no greater need than to truly and fully understand the meaning of the cross. Oswald Chambers Oswald Chambers puts it this way:- “a devotee to doctrine does not need to ‘think’, but a man who is devoted to Christ is obliged to think, and to think every day of his life. He must allow nothing to dissipate his thinking. It is not courage that men lack today, but concentration on Jesus. We have to get out of our laziness and indifference and excuses, and rouse ourselves to face up to the cross of Christ.” Humble Heart We must return to a place where we are prepared to expose our inner souls to Christ. We must invite Him to examine the inner recesses of our ignoble, rebellious hearts. We must allow Him to remove every semblance of ‘self’ from the throne of our lives. We must permit Him to expose each deeply hidden, mortifying memory. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.” 1Peter 5:6. We must allow Him to humble our hearts before His throne of grace. Magnified Mortification Christo-Centric concentration is the most difficult thing to achieve for a christian, for concerted, concentration upon Christ, means magnified mortification of me! Understanding and appropriating the facts of the cross is a saint’s most trying time, but “deep calleth unto deep,” and there is no other way to achieve a reality of Him. Satanic Strategy But Calvary is the secret. Satan’s satanic strategy is to destroy man’s relationship with the Lord. He can’t remove our eternal security for that is set, secure in Christ…. but he seeks to damage our relationship with Christ. And satan, that old serpent, the devil, the accuser of the believer. Satan has his favourite strategies to secure our downfall and complete our shipwreck. Satan usually uses the flesh, the old sin-nature, self.. “I” the old Adam, who is a usurper. Three Strategies Satan more often than not uses the same strategies as He used in Eden’s Garden: 1) Pride : “ye shall be as gods…” 2) Shame : “they fled from the presence of God … ” 3) Arrogant attacks on God : “the woman you gave me …..” But God never leaves us alone to fight for ourselves, God will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” 1Cor.10:13 Escape Route But we must be prepared for Him to bring us to an absolute, end of ourselves. We must be prepared for Him to press us to the depths of our own despair. You must be prepared to be utterly, completely and totally broken before Him, and He will lift you up into newness of your life in Him with His own life in you. Refining Tools He may not send you a shining angel with tidings of great joy. He may not drop manna from heaven, nor supernaturally unlock your prison bars, but He may speak through a donkey, or He may speak through a friend. We may not be specifically instructed by a prophet to wash in the Jordan seven times, but He requires us to submit to the Spirit’s inner searchings and His refining tools. All semblance of self must be removed, if He is to take up proper residence within. James Ussher Usher put it this way: “The believer can never overcome the old man even by the power of the new, apart from the death of Christ, and therefore the death of Christ unto sin is indispensable. And unless the Cross is made the basis upon which he overcomes the old man, he only drops into another form of morality: in other words, he is seeking by self-effort to overcome self, and struggle is hopeless.” Ian Thomas Ian Thomas also said: “I must recognise the enemy within the camp – the flesh.. the old nature.. self.. "INSTRUMENT RATED (1)" You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures…’   Matthew 22:29 NIV DID YOU know that most small-plane crashes are not caused by mechanical failure, but pilot error? In most cases the pilot was not instrument rated, so he or she depended on two things which can fail you. Let’s look at each: 1) Sight. As long as the pilots can see roads, bridges and landmarks, they can fly safely. But when the storm comes or the fog locks them in, they’re in trouble. 2) Senses. In aviation terms the problem is called ‘vertigo’. If you blindfold a person, sit them in a revolving chair, spin it around for several moments, then stop the chair and ask them in which direction they’re spinning, they couldn’t tell you with certainty. There’s a sensitive device in our head that’s like a carpenter’s level. The force of the spinning sends the ‘bubble’ as far as it can go to one side. When it can go no further it begins to return - even though the person’s still spinning in the same direction. So they have the sensation of stopping and beginning to spin in the opposite direction, but it’s only a sensation. If they were not blindfolded and could see, they could ignore those sensations and would have no difficulty knowing in which direction they are going. It takes many hours of training in simulated storm conditions to develop the ability to confidently fly by the direction of your instruments and ignore your sensations of vertigo. I PRESS ON TOWARD MY GOAL "One thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 3:14 Paul writes about something which is quite current today. He says: 'I press on toward the goal.' To press toward something means that you exert maximum effort. You have to do something; you stretch out to something. What is this goal Paul is referring to? He says very clearly that he wants to win a prize. What is the price that lies ahead of him? This is heaven which we can enter through Jesus. Life is sometimes hard and difficult. Although Paul was a servant of God and the power of the Holy Spirit was in him, he knew what it was like to have days without food and nights without sleep. He knew what it meant to be in prison. He suffered shipwreck, was stoned and mocked. If anyone has had a hard time, then it was Paul. We can also experience difficult times, but then it is best to say: 'I press on toward my goal.' Many Christians are shipwrecked because they do not have this in mind. However, if you want to go to heaven and meet Jesus, you must have this goal in your life. Say: 'I will go for it. I press on to enter heaven. I am totally committed to this! I am looking forward to it. I long for it. I fight the good fight for the true faith!' Determination To achieve the prize, we should have perseverance. We need determination. Readers, the price is great. There is no better price anywhere else, so we must be prepared to do something for it. You cannot win the prize if you are lazy and do not get up. This fact converted the women's sorrow and uncertainty into joy and hope. They were the first witnesses to the resurrection of Christ, which reflects the inclusive nature of the gospel message. Jeremiah 21:8 Life and Death It has been said, “in the midst of life we are in death,” yet for the believer, it is truer to say that, “in the midst of death we are in life.” There is no death in the sphere into which a risen Christ brings His own children – how could it be? Did He not abolish death on the cross? Death is a done deal. The Last Enemy In His wonderful plans the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 1Cor 15:55 God is love and God is light and God is life, and at rebirth, God breathed into us the breath of His life. On the cross, He forgave our sins and took the punishment in our stead – forgiven. At His resurrection, He broke the power of the last enemy in us – death. Our Life in Christ Satan cannot touch anyone that has a new life in Christ. He cannot touch the SOURCE of our life in Christ, for God is its source. He cannot touch the CHANNEL of life to us, for Christ is our channel of life. He cannot touch the POWER of life in us, for the Holy Spirit is life’s power within. He cannot touch the SPHERE of our life, for heaven is the sphere. He cannot touch the DURATION of our life, for eternity is the duration of our life. Satan cannot touch the source, channel, power, sphere, or duration of our life in Christ. Christ’s Own Life God emptied the scene of death in us and filled it with His life – Christ’s own life. It is not death but glory that lies before the believer – Christ’s own glorious life. If only the believer had the eye of faith, to see it and believe it. Abundant Life Death is forever behind the believer. It is true that many have fallen asleep in Christ – physically died, but to sleep in Him is never death, but life and life more abundantly. Those asleep in Christ for 2000 years of church history, will rise first. Yes, scripture tells us “the dead in Christ will rise first.” 1Thess.4:16 Then those believers in Him that are living – that are still alive, will meet Him in the air: “Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air.” 1Thess.4:17 Living Faith Enoch, the seventh from Adam beautifully exemplified this living meeting in the air: “By faith, Enoch was translated that he should not see death, and was not found, because God had translated him: but before his translation, he had this testimony, that he pleased God” Heb.11:5 Origin of Death Sin entered the world and death entered the world by sin. The origin of death is sin. Sin snapped the link with the source, channel, power, sphere, and duration of life. Sin handed man over to death, with nothing in himself to defeat sin and death. Sin broke all fellowship with the living God. When sin is present, there is no fellowship save in His Life. Light can have no fellowship with darkness, love can have no fellowship with fear and life cannot fellowship with death. 2Cor 6:14 Man’s Choice Man has a choice – and that choice is by faith and not by sight or works. Choose life or choose death – there is no middle ground, Man must meet God on a new principle – one decreed by God Himself – a principle we see in Abel, Enoch, Noah, and many others – even faith. Law of Faith “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved…” Acts 16:31 Then once saved we are to live by the law of faith, we are to stand by faith; walk by faith; live by faith; pray by faith. God prepared him for a time of death and destruction, of chaos and hunger. Joseph did not know about this. However, God had chosen him to save many lives at that time, including those of his own family. Just as God isolated Joseph for a special task, so is God segregating a group of Christians today. This group is - as in the life of Joseph - also in a time of great testing and struggle, so that they will increasingly get to know the voice of the Good Shepherd. A special purpose If you belong to this group, then like Joseph did not understand, you might also not understand why you have to go through struggles and difficulties. You might wonder why God allows these difficulties in your life. God has already seen that we have set our hearts to follow Jesus Christ in everything. So, God has a special purpose for everything we go through, like He had with Joseph. The reason why Joseph became a great servant of God was that he passed all the trials. He did not allow hatred, bitterness or a feeling of revenge in his heart because of what his brothers had done to him, but he continued to humbly trust his God. Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. i. 😀🌺🌹🎁🎀💝 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY. THURSDAY, APRIL 9, 2026. "INSTRUMENT RATED (1)" You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures…’   Matthew 22:29 NIV DID YOU know that most small-plane crashes are not caused by mechanical failure, but pilot error? In most cases the pilot was not instrument rated, so he or she depended on two things which can fail you. Let’s look at each: 1) Sight. As long as the pilots can see roads, bridges and landmarks, they can fly safely. But when the storm comes or the fog locks them in, they’re in trouble. 2) Senses. In aviation terms the problem is called ‘vertigo’. If you blindfold a person, sit them in a revolving chair, spin it around for several moments, then stop the chair and ask them in which direction they’re spinning, they couldn’t tell you with certainty. There’s a sensitive device in our head that’s like a carpenter’s level. The force of the spinning sends the ‘bubble’ as far as it can go to one side. When it can go no further it begins to return - even though the person’s still spinning in the same direction. So they have the sensation of stopping and beginning to spin in the opposite direction, but it’s only a sensation. If they were not blindfolded and could see, they could ignore those sensations and would have no difficulty knowing in which direction they are going. It takes many hours of training in simulated storm conditions to develop the ability to confidently fly by the direction of your instruments and ignore your sensations of vertigo. I PRESS ON TOWARD MY GOAL "One thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 3:14 Paul writes about something which is quite current today. He says: 'I press on toward the goal.' To press toward something means that you exert maximum effort. You have to do something; you stretch out to something. What is this goal Paul is referring to? He says very clearly that he wants to win a prize. What is the price that lies ahead of him? This is heaven which we can enter through Jesus. Life is sometimes hard and difficult. Although Paul was a servant of God and the power of the Holy Spirit was in him, he knew what it was like to have days without food and nights without sleep. He knew what it meant to be in prison. He suffered shipwreck, was stoned and mocked. If anyone has had a hard time, then it was Paul. We can also experience difficult times, but then it is best to say: 'I press on toward my goal.' Many Christians are shipwrecked because they do not have this in mind. However, if you want to go to heaven and meet Jesus, you must have this goal in your life. Say: 'I will go for it. I press on to enter heaven. I am totally committed to this! I am looking forward to it. I long for it. I fight the good fight for the true faith!' Determination To achieve the prize, we should have perseverance. We need determination. Readers, the price is great. There is no better price anywhere else, so we must be prepared to do something for it. You cannot win the prize if you are lazy and do not get up. Praying, fasting, knocking on the door, seeking, separating yourself, reading the Bible, telling about the gospel and taking time for God. Roll up your sleeves and work for God. Are you determined? Galatians 6:14 2 Aspects of Salvation The death of Christ is the most wonderful thing that deserves our thanks, for through the death of the innocent Victim our sins were forever forgiven. The resurrection of Christ deserves our most glorious worship and praise – for by His resurrection He also broke the power of death in the life of the believer. The death and resurrection merit our greatest gratitude and excellent thanks to God. Both, indeed, deserve the greatest and most triumphant celebrations of all believers. Sin’s Penalty / Power But what does it mean: this aspect of the cross of Christ, in which we should glory alone? What is this cross, by which the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world? How many truly glory in this sombre aspect of the Cross, which means self-surrender? How many prefer to simply focus on the initial surrender – forgiveness of sins.. rather than the glorious surrender of a life, utterly yielded to Him – a life that is truly, totally, and completely broken before the Lord. Surrendered Life Praise God for those that focus on the initial surrender of a forgiven sinner, but how crucial that we go on to that glorious surrendered life of a saint. What is it that prevents us from keeping our focus on this life, yielded in utter surrender? Well, it is anything that takes the place of Christ …. absolutely anything. Anything that comes before the totally surrendered life becomes a hindrance. Anything that is placed before a life surrendered to Christ becomes an obstacle. Anything that eclipses a life self-surrender to Christ becomes a legalistic impediment. Not one of us should consider ourselves exempt from these interfering encumbrances. Legalistic Impediments Legalistic rituals, rites, and ceremonies can most certainly impede spiritual growth, but what are these things? How can you identify such hindrances? What can become legalistic rituals, rites, or ceremonies? What can become such interfering encumbrances in the life of a believer. Anything! ANYthing!! ANYTHING that we do ourselves as a means of sanctification – any experience or any devotional undertaking which we think will make us mature. Prayer and devotion; Bible reading and preaching; alms-giving and obedience are all good – all are good, but any one can become an impediment if we see it as a means to an end. Anything we deem necessary to bring us close to Jesus, can become a hindrance! Legalism in Galatians We need to examine ourselves to see if we have become like the foolish Galatians. We need to see if we are trying to use such methods and means for self-sanctification. We need to check if any such self-effort is leading us away from the crucified life. 2 Aspects of Faith It was Paul that recognised this failing in the Galatian Christians and cried out, O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you… Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish, having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?Galatians 3:1 Sanctification Trap These are serious and sombre words that each of us would do well to examine. These are grave accusations that can be true of any believer who’s trying hard to do well! The Galatians were forgiven, born-again people, who were not relapsing into sin, but they were foolishly falling into the trap of ego, self-righteousness, and pride. The Galatians had become sanctimonious moralists. They had become hypocrites. Outwardly they were clean and polished but inwardly they were ‘full of dead men’s bones’. 2 Aspects of Righteousness In true sanctification, there is no place for anything except, that I should know Him. In true sanctification, the only reality is the Lord Jesus Himself. If we really know Him we will pay no attention to other experiences. If you truly know Him, no outward garment of self-righteousness will be donned. Internal Hypocrisy Oswald Chambers puts it this way:-‘There is only one thing – and that is our relationship to Jesus Christ. What is needed today is not so much a revival as a resurgent form of awakening – the incoming of the tremendous life of God in a new form. The spiritual cure for triviality, is a new note of greatness born of the realisation of what it cost Jesus to produce His salvation in us – a sanctified life. Only when we continually face the cross, are we safe from the dangers of triviality and internal hypocrisy.’ Self- Surrender Study and prayer mean nothing if we use them as our means of sanctification. Self-discipline and flagellations will never draw the un-crucified heart closer to the Lord. Preaching and proselytising of itself, is of none-effect – for God knows the heart. So what is required? Only a complete and total self-surrender.. a heart that is truly, totally, utterly and completely broken before the Lord – a life that has reached the absolute end of ‘MY-self – to focus upon HIM-self. So let us grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen. We don’t know how You kept us from wandering into dangerous paths and instead led us on the right way. We thank You not only for the close calls but also for the safe and peaceful paths You’ve led us on today. It’s been a good day because You guided our way. Now we leave the day with You—its work, its responsibilities, its mistakes, its sins. Where we’ve messed up—will You forgive us? Where we’ve done wrong—will You make it right? Where we’ve broken things—will You restore them? The poor pieces of our obedience, scattered along our path—will You gather them up and turn them into something beautiful? You have a way of using even our brokenness to build something good. So, we give You this day with all its imperfections, asking You to make it a day of grace and beauty. "LET GOD SHOW YOU WHERE TO GO" ‘…Leave…go to the land I will show you.’  Genesis 12:1 NIV WHERE YOU are matters. You can’t grow bananas in Alaska, but you can grow them in Jamaica. What’s the point? Simply this: sometimes you need to change your location in order to succeed in what God’s called you to do. Look at the life of Elijah. ‘The word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Get away from here and turn eastward, and hide by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there”’ (1 Kings 17:2-4 NKJV). Ravens normally don’t deliver food, they eat it. But when you do what God tells you and go where He sends you, you move from the natural realm to the supernatural one. God not only has a plan for your life, He has a place for it. Yes, you must have the right strategy, but you must also be in the right spot. ‘…I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go’ (Isaiah 48:17 NIV). If your heart’s desire is to honour God in all things, He will show you the best location to succeed in. Indeed, He will go ahead of you and rearrange circumstances to your advantage. He did it for Abraham. ‘By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going’ (Hebrews 11:8 NIV). A GOSPEL WITHOUT SUFFERING DOES NOT EXIST "We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself." - 2 Corinthians 1:8 Paul was a man who loved God. He wanted nothing more than to exalt Jesus. Yet this servant of God often had to deal with suffering in his life. He says in 2 Corinthians 4:8-10: 'We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.' Why Lord? 2 Corinthians 11:24-28 also shows us Paul's very human-like experiences. His life was full of suffering. Maybe you have also called out to God and said: 'why Lord?' Paul teaches us a bit about this why. When we suffer, we will have compassion for people who also go through the same. Paul speaks about the God of consolation who comforts us in our troubles in 2 Corinthians 1:3-6. So, we will be able to comfort and encourage those who are struggling, with the same comfort we have received from God. If I have a deep pain in my heart, I do not go to the psychiatrist or read a do-it-yourself book, but I go to Him who said: 'Come to Me.' I will also be strengthened and comforted if I am able to go to a brother or sister who has also suffered similarly but is completely recovered through faith. Such people have a lot of understanding and love which they have received in their darkest hours. Suffering produces a wealth of knowledge of God! Another purpose of suffering is that you learn never to trust yourself, but to trust God. Put yourself in God's hands. He will never let you down! https://www.theblessingdevotional.com 2. Salvation is entirely a result of God's grace, not a human efort. Redemption is solely God's initiative and sovereign mercy. Faith is not a meritorious act but a means of receiving grace. The exclusion of works removes any basis for personal boasting. The believer entirely depends on God for salvation without prejudice or restriction. To preach or teach that a member must make some sacrifices either by offering money, "buying the blood of Jesus," or paying for plots in heaven and so on are mere deceits. I have heard people say that man’s coincidences are God instances. How can life’s stumbling blocks become wonderful stepping stones? How can onerous obstacles be transformed into effortless opportunities? I believe it depends on the attitude of a Christian’s heart.. and the choices he makes in his the human conscience. I believe it’s through a Christ-centred approach rather than a self-centred life. Seeming Contradictions It seems the word of God is full of antonyms and seeming contradictions, for instance, Paul tells us, “For my strength is made perfect in weakness.” and: “Whosoever will save his life shall lose it, and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it”. Luke 9:24. How can this be? How can we “count it as joy when we fall into various trials”? How can God take the negatives and transform them into glorious positives? How can we possibly thank God for our trials and for life disappointments? How can our hearts be unfeignedly thankful for life’s deep embarrassments? Moulding Tools We would all prefer glorious green and verdant pastures, but God sends us thunderclouds and distressing disasters instead, and we are in anguish that God should so treat His own children! But such anomalies are God’s amazing methods to prepare us for future service. Such absurd contradictions are the moulding tools He uses to train His children. Jewels of Light God gives us “treasures of darkness” to prepare us for jewels of light, and He leads us through the valley of the shadow into His own place of peace and rest. We would never guess that His best treasures are hidden in deep distresses, and yet we are often required to walk the path of pain and perplexity, with no explanation and a heart that would fain but break. Yet the valley gives time for reflection to enable us to draw close to Him. God wants each of His children to recognise His sovereignty and our own lack. God’s Anomalies Sometimes He removes life’s carpet of flowers and pools of great joy, replacing them with insurmountable barriers to our own pain and chagrin. He places us in deep darkness so we can see His radiant star. He breaks our hearts to anoint us with His love. The perfume within Mary’s broken bottle never smelt so sweet and fragrant as when poured over the head and feet of the Beloved – a body prepared for burial – so that you and I could live. A Quiet Spirit And He breaks our legs as did the kindly shepherd to the little straying lamb, so that He Himself can find us and gather us up in His loving arms: and carry us on His shoulders. Luke 15:5 So that He can clothe us with the ornaments of meekness and a quiet spirit. He does this to prevent our foolish hearts from self-dependence: “For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2Cor.12:10 Divine Barriers Don’t seek to break down the divine barriers erected for your training. Don’t allow moral, intellectual, or spiritual insanity to drag down these obstacles. These are obstacles that are strewn in your path, to perfect you in Christ. He who began a good work in you will continue until you are like Him.” Phil.1:6 Spiritual Progress Don’t rebel before your spiritual progress is completed. Don’t kick against the pricks or you may forgo what He desires to teach you. Don’t seek to circumnavigate the slow, steady, majestic, difficult way He’s planned – do not weep. Paths of Peace Burdens and barriers in our path are used by a Holy God – a Heavenly Father. May we all accept His clouds and mysteries as He leads us into His paths of peace – until we see Him as He is. Morning devotion for today. i. ⚓🎖☕🥣🍹🍿⚓ *THE WORD FOR TODAY* Humble yourself, and try to make it right Tuesday 7th April 2026 “If you have been snared with the words of your mouth…Go, humble yourself.” Proverbs 6:2-3 NASB (1995) In 1755, a twenty-three-year-old army colonel was running for a seat in the Virginia assembly, when he made an insulting remark as part of a campaign speech. It was addressed to a hot-tempered man named Payne, who responded by knocking the colonel down with a hickory stick. Soldiers rushed to the colonel’s assistance, and it appeared a full-blown fight would ensue. But the would-be politician got up, dusted himself off, called off the soldiers, and quietly left the scene. The next morning, the colonel wrote to Payne requesting his presence at a local tavern. Payne obliged, but he wondered what motives and demands the colonel might make—perhaps an apology or even a duel. To Payne’s surprise, the colonel met him with an apology, asking forgiveness for his derogatory remarks and offering a handshake. Others may have viewed the move as politically expedient, but Colonel George Washington considered it personally imperative if he was to enjoy internal peace as he continued with his political campaign on his way to becoming America’s first president. Jesus said, “Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. SAVED AND YET MISERABLE "When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?" - Luke 18:8 It was a great moment for Israel when they stood on the other side of the Red Sea and watched the water pour back over the Egyptians, their chariots and horses. While they were looking at this spectacle, they must have been praising and worshipping God with their hands up high. There was dancing with joy. Never doubt again If they had been asked: 'Will you ever doubt God's goodness and omnipotence?' they would have said: 'No, never.' But their great trust only lasted for three days. In Exodus 15 we read that they grumbled against Moses, and with this against God, because the water was bitter. It is the same in our generation today. You might have some difficulty with the above and say: 'still, there are quite a lot of believers.' May I remind you that of the 600,000 Israelites (only adult men counted) who left Egypt in high spirits, only two - Joshua and Caleb - entered the promised land? Dear reader, we can be redeemed from the power of the enemy and still never come into the fullness of Jesus Christ. Saved and yet miserable! The truth is that many Christians have been saved and yet they have been wandering their entire lives in the desert. Plagued by depression, fear, insecurity, etc. But God absolutely does not want His children to perish in the desert of life. The promised land was a good land, a land of abundance. This is how our life should be: a good life full of abundance. People, who had seen so many miracles from God, perished in the desert because of doubt and unbelief. If we want to be successful in these last times, then our faith in God should be strong. This faith must be founded on the Word of God. The evil one is always looking to bring down our faith. We want to live today under the influence of Your cross. Help us remember that we belong to You, bought by You at the cost of Your precious blood! Help us live in a way that honors You. Proverbs 25:2 Mysterious Thought What a mysterious thought, that it is God’s glory to hide things from view, and we wonder how do those that are kings search out the hidden things? Today many ‘preachers‘ and ‘prophets‘ love to ‘reveal’ hidden things of God. They often come from ‘dreams‘ and ‘visions‘ and missions spring-up from their roots! Gnostic revelations and mystic thoughts – oh, and how men run after such ‘ministries’! Secret Things Secrets and mysteries belong to God, but many love to pretend they know His thoughts. Many love to share God’s ‘secret things’ with others, and many others love to receive them. However: the secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.” Deut.29:29 True Revelation How do kings really search out His hidden mysteries? How are His concealed secrets revealed to those who desire to find them out? True revelation lies in one realm and one realm, alone – the word of God. True revelation lies in the Holy Spirit inspired, God-breathed scriptures. Final Revelation God may gracious illuminate the mind of man from His own Spirit-revealed revelation, but God’s revelation to man is an open secret in the scriptures of God: for God, spoke in many ways and means, in time past to the fathers, by the prophets, Hebrews 1:1 But God’s last and final revelation came through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. He was the One appointed heir of all things through whom also He made the worlds. Spirit’s Illumination It is only by Spirit’s illumination of Scripture that revelation is unfolded. If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God. John 17:7 God may indeed conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search it out – not through dreams, visions, and experiences of man – but via God’s Word: through searching the scriptures daily; through comparing scripture with scripture – through the illumination of the Holy Spirit – The Holy Spirit teaches: comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 1Corinthians 2:13 Spirit’ Guidance Life’s circumstances may indeed be a gateway to understanding, Experience also can teach us many things but they are not an end in itself. The Spirit of God takes life experience and combines it with His Word. The Spirit uses this to teach us the truths that He would have us learn. It is the Spirit of truth, Who will guide you into all truth. Humble Heart But God wants a heart that is entirely yielded to His leading and His guidance.. a heart that is totally, utterly and completely broken and humbled before Him.. a heart that is emptied of self, so that Christ can rule and be all in all. It is then that through life’s circumstances, some of God’s secret things can be revealed. Trials and Temptations God reveals patience and other graces through life’s trials and temptations. God develops faith in the man or woman that is thus broken before Him. James tells us to count it all joy when you fall into various trials. James 1:2 Questioning ‘How’ Nights of black temptations and trial give way to mornings of joyful illumination.. but how do we understand the value of trials if we don’t know the word of truth? And how do we learn that God is working in life to procure ultimate perfection in us? How can God use all things together for good if we do not feed on His manna? How do I learn to rejoice in my sufferings for you, if not from Scripture? Word of God Paul tells us, “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials.” 1 Peter 1:6. God reveals that faith and spiritual fruit is perfected through sufferings… but He also reveals that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Revelation and Illumination God combines the revelation in His word and illumination through His Spirit – to bring to light many hidden truths He wants you to understand. The purposes of God’s mysteries are not to tantalise or to tease us, for like Moses, who was shown the glory of God, we can only be shown so much: thou canst not see my face, for shall no man see Me, and live. Exodus 33:20 A Glass Darkly Yet more and more mysterious revelation from God was unfolded within scripture, until God Himself in the form of Man, showed His face, shrouded in servant-hood. But the day is coming when we shall see Him as He is. The day is fast approaching when we will know as we are known – but until then we see through a glass darkly. Yet in the power of the Holy Spirit, we have the mind of Christ. Wisdom and Glory Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God – how unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out! We asked You to help us keep the promises we made on Sunday and to live out the spiritual insights we gained. We’re thankful for the help You’ve given us today. You’ve watched over us, guided us, and blessed us. We’re grateful for everything You’ve done for us today. But we also admit our shortcomings. We didn’t do everything we promised to do. We found ourselves too weak for some of today’s challenges, temptations, and burdens. We ask You to forgive us. We always need Your forgiveness because we always fall short. But tonight, we pray that You’ll help us grow stronger so that tomorrow we’ll do better and live closer to You. We want to grow in grace, overcome our faults, develop good habits, and become stronger against temptation. So our prayer is that You’ll cleanse us, make us more like You, and fill our hearts with more of Your Spirit so we can live better lives. If we’ve hurt anyone today with a careless word or action, please forgive us and help us make it right.
