Good evening, brethren.
1. Evening devotion for today.
i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)
*DATE:*
MONDAY 13TH APRIL, 2026.
*SUB-THEME:*
THE CROSS: CULMINATION OF GRACE.
*TOPIC:*
BRINGS REDEMPTION.
*TEXT:*
GALATIANS 3:10-14.
10. For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”
11. Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.”
12. The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.”
13. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”
14. He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
*TOPIC:*
BRINGS REDEMPTION.
*THE MESSAGE:*
To redeem is to liberate by payment of a ransom. Today's text contrasts the curse of the law with the blessing of faith in Christ. Relying on the law, which is based on performance, brings a curse because no one can perfectly obey it (Deut. 27:26). In contrast, justification comes through faith, as seen in the life of Abraham. Christ has redeemed believers from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for and bearing their punishment. Through His sacrificial death, the blessing promised to Abraham comes to the Gentiles so that all may receive the promised Spirit through faith. Therefore, Christ's redemptive work is sufficient in securing your righteousness before God.
Have you been redeemed?
If not, invite Jesus into your life today and begin to live worthy of your new identity.
*REFLECTION:*
Jesus alone redeems.
*PRAYER:*
Thank You, Jesus, for paying the price for my redemption. Amen.
*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
COLOSSIANS 2:15.
"And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross."
*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
2 KINGS 20-22.

A Peculiar Nobility
Have you faced death to self – the crucifixion of your soul? Only if you have, will you see life and living in its true perspective. Only then will a peculiar nobility, with its roots in humidity be displayed in you.. as a stately strand of godly meekness, ribbons through into your entire character. Death to self often comes through suffering and there are two outcomes of suffering.
Two Results
A man’s heart and soul may be perfected through suffering – or suffering may make that same man’s soul bitter and rebellious. For through suffering we come to an end of self – to the extremity of me – or, through that same suffering selfishness may increase as “I” takes control – and God, not the old sin nature is blamed for the problems and pain that engulf us.
Moral Calibre
We must eventually become disappointed and disillusioned with all self-effort, if we are to not to become disappointed and disillusioned in God – but one of the other will happen. The moral calibre of man is displayed in his everyday conduct and activity. In simple, commonplace tasks and in social gatherings and activities.
Spiritual Temperature
A man’s character is displayed in his words and in his attitudes. A man’s spiritual temperature is not displayed in public prayers or preaching, but at the supermarket checkout, the restaurant table, behind a steering wheel! – at the end of a telephone.
Christian Living
A man’s profound, solitary spiritual life is between himself and God alone, but life’s superficial activities may replace a Christ-centered life with a self-centred one, Am I willing to permit God to dominate both my profound and shallow activity? Am I prepared to allow Him to influence both spiritual and superficial things?
Spiritual Life
It was once written… No one ever becomes spiritual without being fanatical for a season. The shallow intercourse of our lives falls away and people object to us, because if we are right then they are wrong. It is the swing of the pendulum to the opposite extreme of what the life used to be” This is a pretty tough truth to swallow, but something we should all think about.
Be Ready
“My “right hand” may be the thing that makes me delightful to other people.. and yet Jesus said “If your right hand causes you to stumble in your walk with me then cut it off!” The maimed stage is only for a season – but remember- we are in the season of the Lord’s return. And remember that Jesus is coming at a time you think not, “Therefore be ye also ready.. for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh”
Be Vigilant
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour 1Peter 5:8 Satan hath desired to have YOU, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for you… Luke 22:31

2. Evening Prayer for today.
i. Evening Prayer
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety. ⏤ Psalm 4:8
Our prayers lay the track down on which God’s power can come. ⏤ Watchman Nee
As this day comes to a close, we come to You, our Father. Thank You for guiding us today in response to our morning prayer. Please accept whatever we’ve done to please You. Forgive us for anything wrong in our actions, attitudes, or feelings. If we’ve held onto unkind thoughts, been envious, selfish, resentful, or jealous—please forgive us and cleanse our hearts.
We sincerely want to grow beyond these faults of our old nature. We’re not content to live with these things ruling our lives. But You know how hard it is for us to overcome these struggles in our hearts. May Your grace within us help to overcome them. We earnestly pray that You will fill us with Your Holy Spirit, and help us to let go of the things that displease You, and embrace the qualities of a new life filled with the gentle affections of our Savior. May the fruits of the Spirit grow in us. May whatever is pure and lovely be found in us.
We now leave in Your care all the work of this day. If we’ve left any negative impact on someone’s life, we ask that You prevent it from causing harm. Take whatever has been good and helpful in us today and use it to bless others and to bring glory to Your great name.
As we go to rest, we commit ourselves to Your care for the night. You are our protector. We rest securely under the shadow of Your wings because You will keep us safe. We pray for the poor, the sick, the troubled, the sorrowful, and the dying. We ask all these things in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
