Good evening, brethren.
1. Evening devotion for the day.
i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)
*DATE:*
TUESDAY 14TH APRIL, 2026
*SUB-THEME:*
THE CROSS: CULMINATION OF GRACE.
*TOPIC:*
ESTABLISHED A NEW COVENANT.
*TEXT:*
LUKE 22:20-23.
20. In the same way, after the supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is poured out for you.
21. But the hand of him who is going to betray Me is with Mine on the table.
22. The Son of Man will go as it has been decreed. But woe to that man who betrays Him!”
23. They began to question among themselves which of them it might be who would do this.
*TOPIC:*
ESTABLISHED A NEW COVENANT.
*THE MESSAGE:*
A *covenant* is a solemn agreement or promise between two or more parties. In this text, Jesus established a new covenant with humanity, sealed with His blood, a profound shift from the old system of sacrifices. This covenant brings about forgiveness of sin, transformation of hearts, creates a personal relationship with God, and secures eternal redemption. The new covenant is a package with healing, liberty, prosperity, security, joy, peace, and the like. It is incumbent on the believer to appropriate the promises of the new covenant. Are you a partaker of the new covenant? Do not betray Jesus like Judas (Mt. 26:14-16). Sadly, some Christians partake in the Lord's Table but also participate in traditional practices that are idol worship without remorse (1 Cor. 10:21). This should not be so.
*REFLECTION:*
The New Covenant is open to all.
*PRAYER:*
Lord, help me not to betray You. Amen.
*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
COLOSSIANS 2:15.
"And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross."
*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
2 KINGS 23-25.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23
Loathsome Reward
A workman is worthy of his hire and an employee expects to receive remuneration. A worker earns the salary he is paid and a craftsman has a right to receive his pay. A man in receipt of his wages is given what he has earned and has what he deserves. In the same manner, sin has its own particular price and the wages of sin is death. The just and fair deserts of sin is death – and death is the loathsome reward for sin.
Fair Reward
The just deserts of the sinner are not a negotiated salary but are ordained of God. No sinner will be unfairly treated, but all will receive the only fair reward for sin.. and the wages of sin for every sinner is death.. and death is non-negotiable.
Faces of Sin
There are many faces of sin and different kinds of sin but every sin deserves death. There are open sins committed in the body and veiled sins that mature in the mind. There are hidden sins and visible ones, for man’s very nature is streaked with evil – and the just decree of a holy God is death – for death is the reward for sin.
Terrible Master
The terrible master of man is sin and man is the slave and servant of sin. This profound reality is a devastating truth that touches every strand of humanity – and every man deserves his due reward and each must be paid their just desert.
Pleasure of Sin
The pleasure of sin maybe sweet for a moment but its bitter taste is never-ending. The seeds of evil are vanity and the buds of iniquity bear the bitter fruit of sin, for the wages of sin is death…. BUT the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Payment for Sin
The price for all sin was paid for in full by the blood of the sinless Lamb of God. The sins of the world were paid for by the blood that flowed from Christ’s veins – mystery of mystery that God’s own Son should die for me – and die for you.
Forever Forgiven
And from His unblemished sacrifice.. streams out God’s grace to a fallen race of man. And from His justifying righteousness issues forth regeneration for those who believe. And Christ received the wages for my sins and yours so we could be forever forgiven. And He paid the price in full so that we could receive the gift of eternal life instead.
Salvation in Christ
The gift of God is salvation through Christ and eternal life is a beautiful consequence. Salvation is offered to all and given to those that believe on the Son of God: for all have sinned and the wages for all is death – but God sent His Son so that all who believe in His work on Calvary would be saved.
Total Righteousness
And His gift to all who trust on His name is a justifying righteousness:- regeneration; sanctification; glorification; a new creation in Christ, and the grace of God and peace with God, and faith and hope and love and joy, and the indwelling Spirit and a heavenly inheritance – and eternal life: for He washed us from our sins in His own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father, to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen!” Rev 1:5-6
Redeeming Blood
The wages of sin is our due, but salvation is God’s gift to all who believe – and it comes singularly through the redeeming blood of Christ. Mystery of mystery that God’s own Son should die for me – and for you.

2. Eve ing prayer for today.
i. Evening Prayer
So teach [us] to number our days, that we may apply [our] hearts unto wisdom. ⏤ Psalm 90:12
Prayer makes a godly man, and puts within him the mind of Christ, the mind of humility, of self-surrender, of service, of pity, and of prayer. ⏤ E.M. Bounds
Evening has come again, O God, and we gather back at Your feet. You’ve kept us safe through the day and given us many blessings. We’re grateful to You for all of them. Help us hold onto every good thing that’s come to us today—the good thoughts that have warmed our hearts, the gentle impressions from our friends, and all that’s come to us through books or nature. Teach us to value our days so that we may gain wisdom from the experiences we go through. We want to grow wiser with each passing day. So we ask You to teach us everything we need to learn from this day before it ends.
We remember our friends tonight. Some of them may be anxious or struggling with temptation. We pray that they will experience the holy things of life. We may not be able to help them much, but we can pray for them, and You can reach down and help them in true, wise, and holy ways. We place all our dear ones in Your care, trusting You to do what is best. Lead them on paths of Your choosing.
We also lift up the world before You. It’s lost in sin. Above us is the heavenly city, but all around us is darkness, with dangers ready to harm and destroy us. We pray tonight for the lost, asking You to have mercy on them and save them. Show us where they are and send us out to find them, so that we may carry Your blessing to them in Your name. Bless us as we go to sleep, and give us Your protection and Fatherly blessing. We ask all this through Jesus Christ. Amen.
