the guiding force unknown

an itch needing action
words spilling haphazardly
but with determination

life rarely takes a direct line
to an efficient conclusion
we are offered inviting passages
leading to thresholds
providing possible transitions
if we pick the right doorways
do make wise choices
and properly understand directions
this life
a constantly oscillating wave
to the very end
things are mostly out of our control
but hopefully we recognize
what we can take charge of
our impacts and those intentional interventions around us
may they bring desired outcomes
for a life we won’t regret

Love me so hard
I forget the pain
I came with.
Free the me
who wants
to return love.
It’s there deep within.
I promise.
I have it to give.
Please occupy
the space
between my molecules.
Filling this
empty,
tainted soul.
Please help me
to release
these demons.
To make the room
inside for all
you can share.
Your strength
meets mine
and helps me rise.
When you’re where
I finally leave;
I’ll be here, dear.
Then it’s my turn.
Your slide to the dark,
my cross to bear.

a tender embrace

The flutter overhead was of birds heading south. With my impatience, my fidgeting grew stronger as I waited for the bell to sound, hoping to be dismissed from class soon. Finally, I could emerge from the classroom to deal with the anxiety and still crash if I needed to. My attention drifted towards the sparrows outside the window, and flashed memories that seemed to stretch from my youth all the way to my high school years. Something ominous was preparing for battle.
I could see the puma slinking in the background as the birds continued to migrate towards warmer branches.
Here is this week’s image to get your creative juices flowing!
This image is an underwater shot, featuring varying degrees of blue, large rocks on the sea floor, and light shining through from above into the underwater scene. This was taken in Pula, Croatia.
Please create one senryu and one haiku to accompany this image prompt. Remember that a traditional haiku describes nature or a season, while a senryu focuses on human nature and emotions.
Then, provide a link in the comments below or ping back to this post on your blog.
Here is a wrap-up of last week’s prompt. I appreciate each of you for sharing your thoughts!

drained while supporting others
arduous but necessary
still, it’s hard
those who lean on you
see only their needs
their dependence required
you’re not a saint
only a giving human
a natural state of being
it’s exhausting
but it’s loving
we all do the best we can
