Inspired by What do you see #335
music, writing, crafts
the arts give us sanity
life, a to-do list
a desire to purge
mindful jumbles form in spurts
coherence the aim
using a few words
concise and extremely clear
compendious thoughts
thought after thought
shaped delicately in my mind
needs to be freed
and so begins the written
short and sweet
or long and detailed
the words drip off the end of my fingertips
as the waves of narrative escape my body
hitting the page with a purpose
the jumbled tumbles forth
as the incoherent becomes understood
and finally, the significance is shared
Redux
Feeling full
of stuff to do
things to read
thoughts to write
and falling behind
Pressured and agitated
need to step back
and organize
my normal life cycle
trying to prioritize
I hope my friends
will understand
it’s not you but me
Took on a big chunk
and catching up
Busy and isolated
stuck more in my head
than is necessary
for my health
and recognizing it
Seems I’m not the only one

the guiding force unknown
a habit requiring satiating
an itch needing action
words spilling haphazardly
but with determination
verbal truths on paper
without art, music, or writing
how does one convey
the nuances of existence
or fine-tune the feelings we all experience
those creatives born to this world
strive to master understanding
through story-telling with words, music, and images
they heal, they evoke, they help soothe the aches of living
we celebrate and can laugh with what we hear, feel, and see
artists are precious gifts in this world
their perspectives do add so much to our day-to-day
they can uplift us as well as empathize with us
and the world is a better place because of those who give us—with their words, notes, and art—a deeper meaning to our existence

with muses all around
striving for perfection
contributions yield, hopefully, the ideal
yet minute-by-minute
inspiration becomes still and gentle
only your essence remains
“then, if you are lucky, even you leave”
christening this world with some magic
for others to enjoy
wringing the mind cells
grappling with time slipping by
must meet the deadline

Reena’s Xploration Challenge #357 – Turn of Phrase
writing weaves and bobs
the many thoughts into meaning
the message at times a messy tangle
not thoroughly straightforward
laced with unique and descriptive metaphor
or maybe sweet and blunt
possibly nostalgic
perhaps even relevant to these days
whether original or a turn of phrase
the point gets across
and lands with those who want to understand
