Events occur in real-time. Continuous flights of fancy and distraction may not be applicable to your own play-through.
min: 40 gb’s of space required! Looks as though my PS4 will have to go on a diet.
mins: I must agree to Activisions terms or else, apparently.
mins: “Transferring data.” This could take a while. May as well invest my vestigial time efficiently and have that shower.
mins: All right, it’s finally time to choose my class.
mins: Hmm, let’s try Warlock.
mins: Great, my customisable character looks like the fifth member of the Beatles. Suppose I shouldn’t touch this intergalactic follicles. Rather I should “Let It be”. I’m so sorry.
mins: What, no beard option?!
mins: Mars is such a desolate location, never suitable for human conservation or expedient for habitation. What is fictions obsession with trying to colonise it?
mins: This game really likes to remind me that I’m playing Destiny.
mins: According to the diagrams depicted, the enemy is a giant ethereal, space serpent. I knew it!
mins: Apparently this little floating robot should be referred to as a “Ghost”. And bears no resemblance to Wheatley from Portal 2. Nope. Not one bit.
mins: Currently exploring darkened corridors. Clearly exploring every inch of this expansive galaxy.
mins: Of course they are after me Wheatley, sorry ghost; you alerted them to my presence by turning on the lights!
mins: Don’t worry about me, I’m proficient with any automatic firearm.
mins: Well its advantageous that the button configurations are essentially a duplication of every fps I’ve ever played.
mins: Have some fists of fury alien arthropod thing. Hadouken!
mins: Shotgun. Oh yeah!
mins: These aliens have placed trip mines everywhere. How rude.
mins: I realise this isn’t exactly a pressing matter, but why would these aggressors be secreting ammunition specific to my gun, especially considering their own lack of manufactured weaponry?
mins: Ok; spacious, modestly lit room and lots of cover. What could possibly go wrong?!
mins: See nothing to worry about. Phew
mins: It appears I’m in Russia. Could explain the benign committee that has greeted me.
mins: Now that’s a big ass ship! I’m gonna need a bigger gun.
mins: Still not entirely sure why this cursor arrangement has been inducted into the menu’s? It’s really antiquated.
mins: Hadouken right to the face!
mins: Whoa! Level 2 and acquired a vortex grenade. Score!
mins: Damn Vandals! Why wont you remain stationary so I can shoot you!
mins: Was beginning to wonder why this Captain alien wasn’t dying. Curse your regenerative capabilities.
mins: Successfully escaped. But who was that mysterious figure observing my departure?
mins: There’s certainly no denying that this is a visually resplendent experience.
mins: Looks as though I’m off to acquaint myself with the guardians of the galaxy……Sorry citadel.
mins: Wow. Even after my meticulous intervention and customisation, this character resembles my swollen toe more than me.
mins: Oh no! Real people.
mins: This is what the future of gaming is really about; Post offices.
mins: Sorry how much and what level? Won’t be using that vanguard for my wares then.
mins: Just realised that the guy who played agent Broyles in Fringe has lent his larynx to a character. Yes!
mins: Just checking some of the creative pseudonyms players have adopted as their virtual identifications. Not sure I want to associate with scuttlebutt?
mins: I have a new assignment and new attire. I’m now looking sharp and ready for orbit.
mins: Now its time to see a guns smith. Bazooka please proprietor. One that suits my clandestine endeavours. What do you mean I must have a rifle?!
mins: How can you not trust someone who augments your ship with a name like Amanda Holiday.
mins: Good to know I’m not the only level 2 running around. Time to fly.
Some time later…..
I’m surprised about the lack of clarification after the 77 minute mark, simply because I’m really engrossed in what Destiny has provided thus far. Even though it reference’s the “power of the dark…….ness” and doesn’t demonstrate anything definitively original. Hopefully there is much more to come.
What do you think of Destiny so far?
