Good signing, great birthday

Hi everyone,

I enjoyed myself as always, signing books on the front porch of Sundog Books in Seaside. Not sure how many copies we started with, a nice stack of three titles, but only two were left when I finished. It was a cool day but not too bad. Lots of Spring Breakers, mostly young women, who were determined to wear their short in spite of the mid-60 day. Miles of legs. Some came over and bought books for mothers, nieces, etc. The last picture in this string is of ROBIN and JEFF at Redd’s the singing barmaid, singing along to the lyrics of a song she was performing with gusto. I loved it!

Next day was my birthday! I was so happy with SANDY, ROBIN and TIM, and JEFF around me. Much love, laughter, wonderful food, generous gifts, and did I mention love?

Signing at Sundog today

Hi everyone,

Forecast for this morning at 11:00 on the front porch of Sundog Books in Seaside is 64. Early rain should end by then. It’s the coolest day we’ve had in quite a while so there may not be many people out and about. But you never know. It is spring break. I’ll dress warmly and wait with a smile at the ready and a pen near my hand.

By the way, TIM RASINSKI and I are getting a lot of readers of our post article on The Robb Review. Here’s the link again. https://shorturl.at/8M1hT

Sundog Books signing this Friday

Hi everyone,

I look forward to returning to the famous book store in Seaside, Florida — Sundog Books — this Friday starting at 11:00. I have sat on the front porch more than a dozen times over the years, visiting with people coming and going and signing books. Here are a few pictures from past visits. This Friday I’ll add more.

This time I’ll be signing at least five titles, including A Tree is a Community, Wild Brunch, The Dirt Book, After Dark, and Now You See Them Now You Don’t.

Book signing coming up

Hi everyone,

I look forward to returning to Sundog Books in Seaside, Florida next Tuesday, July 8 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. I’ve been signing there once or twice a year for the last dozen years or more. It’s not a large store but it has a strategic location and a friendly, knowledgeable staff. Most days you have to squeeze through shoulder-to-shoulder customers. There’s no room to sign books inside so authors are placed on the front porch a few feet from where customers come up the steps to enter.

This time I’ll be signing two of my 2024 titles, Wild Brunch, Poems About How Creatures Eat and A Tree is a Community. Now and then someone I know drops by the porch to buy a book or say hello. That’s always a highlight.

Off to sign some books

Hi everyone,

Today from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. you’ll find me at Sundog Books in Seaside, Florida. I’ll be on the front porch of that wonderful store, looking wistfully at patrons coming up the short flight of steps leading into the store, hoping that a few will stop to ask about my wares.

The temperature will be cool; it’s 47 at this early hour. I’ll be signing for the first time copies of 40 Poems for 40 Weeks as well as Wild Brunch and, I think, A Tree is a Community. Our place, where we started coming sixteen years ago, the same year I started my blog, is four miles down the road from Sundog Books. I believe I’ve signed on the front porch at least once in every year.
