Harry Reid before: ‘No sane country would reward illegal aliens’

Harry Reid was against illegals before he was for them. No surprise with dirty Harry.

Thank you C-Span!  Here’s Harry hoisting himself by his own petard!  Next time some liberal starts whining about how only those e-vile Conservatives oppose illegal immigrants, just send ’em this link! In this footage from 1993:

Sen. Harry Reid speaks forcefully that “no sane country” would reward illegal aliens with citizenship for their off-spring.

Last week, the Senate Majority Leader was asked about Republican calls for hearings on the birthright citizenship issue: “They’ve either taken leave of their senses or their principles.”

RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid hasn’t been very vocal about the cattle battle showdown in recent days, but says “it’s not over.”

Reid tells News4’s Samantha Boatman his take on the so-called cattle battle in southern Las Vegas. “Well, it’s not over. We can’t have an American people that violate the law and then just walk away from it. So it’s not over,” Reid said.

Senator Reid made his comments after the unveiling of four brand new battery-electric buses for the RTC fleet.

Harry Reid says it not over. What could possibly go wrong? Here is the video of the real conclusion.

Here is the video you WILL NOT SEE on the mainstream media. The BLM did NOT simply “leave” and return the Bundy cattle. They were going to KEEP the cattle.

UPDATE:  Breaking: Sen. Harry Reid Behind BLM Land Grab of Bundy Ranch

The Bureau of Land Management, whose director was Sen. Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) former senior adviser, has purged documents from its web site stating that the agency wants Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s cattle off of the land his family has worked for over 140 years in order to make way for solar panel power stations.

Deleted from BLM.gov but reposted for posterity by the Free Republic, the BLM document entitled “Cattle Trespass Impacts” directly states that Bundy’s cattle “impacts” solar development, more specifically the construction of “utility-scale solar power generation facilities” on “public lands.”

“Non-Governmental Organizations have expressed concern that the regional mitigation strategy for the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone utilizes Gold Butte as the location for offsite mitigation for impacts from solar development, and that those restoration activities are not durable with the presence of trespass cattle,” the document states.

The first segment of the document pulled by the feds from BLM.gov.

Another BLM report entitled “Regional Mitigation Strategy for the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone” (BLM Technical Note 444) reveals that Bundy’s land in question is within the “Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone and surrounding area” which is part of a broad U.S. Department of Energy program for “Solar Energy Development in Six Southwestern States” on land “managed” by BLM.

Impound Operation Concluded

Statement from Director of the Bureau of Land Management Neil Kornze on the Cattle Gather in Nevada:As we have said from the beginning of the gather to remove illegal cattle from federal land consistent with court orders, a safe and peaceful operation is our number one priority. After one week, we have made progress in enforcing two recent court orders to remove the trespass cattle from public lands that belong to all Americans.

Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public.

We ask that all parties in the area remain peaceful and law-abiding as the Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service work to end the operation in an orderly manner.

Ranching has always been an important part of our nation’s heritage and continues throughout the West on public lands that belong to all Americans. This is a matter of fairness and equity, and we remain disappointed that Cliven Bundy continues to not comply with the same laws that 16,000 public lands ranchers do every year. After 20 years and multiple court orders to remove the trespass cattle, Mr. Bundy owes the American taxpayers in excess of $1 million. The BLM will continue to work to resolve the matter administratively and judicially.

National Park Service Closure Maps and Updates

It has been reported that there were over 50 ranchers in the Bunkerville area. Now down to one. The story to be told has yet to be revealed. What is clear is that this story is more than a rancher not paying the BLM grazing fees. What we do know is that Harry Reid has his long dirty fingerprints in this story. While the Bundy family may not be the most articulate, soon we hear from others what the BLM has been doing to ranchers. You betcha. Here we go:

The son of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), Rory Reid, is the primary representative for ENN Energy Group, a Chinese energy company seeking to build a $5 billion solar panel plant on a 9,000-acre Clark County desert plot in Laughlin, Nevada.

ENN scored big when Clark County commissioners unanimously voted to sell the Chinese company the public land for just $4.5 million, despite the fact that it was appraised at $38.6 million.

Sen. Reid has been one of ENN’s biggest supporters, having recruited the company during a 2011 trip to China. According to Reuters, last month Sen. Reid tried to “pressure Nevada’s largest power company, NV Energy, to sign up as ENN’s first customer.”

This isn’t the first time the Reids have come under fire for alleged cronyism. In 2003, allegations emerged that Nevada industries frequently lobbied Sen. Reid through his well-connected relatives.

Reid’s son, a lawyer with a prominent Las Vegas firm that is representing ENN, helped it locate a 9,000-acre (3,600-hectare) desert site that it is buying well below appraised value from Clark County, where Rory Reid formerly chaired the county commission.

NEVADA’S LARGEST LAW FIRM

To advance the Nevada project, ENN retained the state’s largest and most prestigious law firm – Lionel Sawyer & Collins, where Rory Reid works. It is headed by Richard Bryan, a former Nevada attorney general, governor and member of the U.S. Senate.

‘Dirty Harry’ Reid: “Why would we help one kid with cancer?”

Harry Reid: ‘Why Would We Want To’ Help One Kid With Cancer?

Dirty Harry can’t even imagine a reporter, and this time one from CNN, would dare to even question him on behalf of the regime, of any position or action. It is easy for us to forget that these Progressives do not share the value we place on life. A child with cancer? Just a sacrifice. World War Two vets? Look, they have done their thing and the regime hates any reminder of the military anyway. Shut them out of seeing the monument dedicated to them.

But this isn’t the first time Reid showed his contempt for us. First the CNN reporter’s question. Then, what he thinks about smelly tourists.

Boxer and Reid accused of bribery and intimidation by Vitter

On the face of it, one could easily say this is politics as usual. But this goes far beyond anything that is usual. What with all of the spying capabilities, there will be few Congressmen left who will be so whistle clean that they cannot be intimidated. We can only hope that this receives the adjudication it deserves. Boxer and Reid. Perfect together. Here we go:

Louisiana Republican Sen. David Vitter on Friday accused Senate Majority Leader  Harry Reid and California Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer of engaging in a  “intimidation and payoff scheme” to “bribe” colleagues to vote a certain way on  a bill, after it was reported Friday morning that Democrats were trying to  rekindle Vitter’s 2007 prostitution scandal to stop him from opposing an energy  bill.

Politico first reported that Democrats were  drafting legislation that would deny any lawmaker government contributions to  their health care, a perk of life in Congress, if there is “probably cause” that  he or she solicited prostitutes.

In 2007, Vitter’s phone number was found in an investigation into the “DC  Madam” prostitution ring, and he apologized for committing a “sin,” but did not  elaborate.

The draft legislation is in retaliation for Vitter holding up a floor debate  this week on an energy efficiency bill by trying to attach an amendment to the  bill that would take away government contributions to lawmakers’ health-care  coverage.

Another version of the bill would take away the benefits from anyone who  voted to end such benefits, meaning Vitter, and anyone who voted for his  amendment, would lose that government contribution.

He asked that the Ethics Committee launch an investigation into Reid and Boxer.  He asks that Boxer, who chairs the committee, recuse herself from the  investigation, and suggests she be removed from the committee if found guilty of  an ethics violation.

ACLU attacked Reid’s gun law, cites privacy and civil liberties

UPDATE

My modem is down, so have not been able to post. keep in mind, the ACLU was opposed to the gun bill. So while everyone is in a tizzy about the NRA… These are the facts. Here is a repost ..trying to do it from my iPad.

While the talking heads seem to blow off any concern about universal background checks as nothing serious and the “at least” we can do, it is a trojan horse according to the ACLU as they looked at the Reid bill that is floating around in the Senate.

Recent surveys indicate the vast majority of Americans appear to be ok with this. The Daily Caller has a post that gives us a heads up. Let’s not fall asleep on this one. Here we go: As Senate Democrats struggle to build support for new gun control legislation, the American Civil Liberties Union now says it’s among those who have “serious concerns” about the bill. The inclusion of universal background checks — the poll-tested lynchpin of most Democratic proposals — “raises two significant concerns,” the ACLU’s Chris Calabrese told TheDC Wednesday

. “The first is that it treats the records for private purchases very differently than purchases made through licensed sellers. Under existing law, most information regarding an approved purchase is destroyed within 24 hours when a licensed seller does a [National Instant Criminal Background Check System] check now,” Calabrese said, “and almost all of it is destroyed within 90 days.” “[U]nfortunately, we have seen in the past that the creation of these types of records leads sometimes to the creation of government databases and collections of personal information on all of us,”

Calabrese warned. “That’s not an inevitable result, but we have seen that happen in the past, certainly.” “As we’ve seen with many large government databases, if you build it, they will come.” “And existing law also bars the use of those records for other purposes,” Calabrese continued, explaining that the government is supposed to be barred by the Privacy Act from transferring database information between agencies without the consent of the individual citizen. “Contrast this with what the existing [Reid] legislation says, which is simply that a record has to be kept of a private transfer,” Calabrese highlighted, “and it doesn’t have any of the protections that we have in current law for existing licensees.” “And they come to use databases for all sorts of different purposes,”

Calabrese said. “For example, the National Counterterrorism Center recently gave itself the authority to collect all kinds of existing federal databases and performed terrorism related searches regarding those databases. They essentially exempted themselves from a lot of existing Privacy Act protections.” “So you just worry that you’re going to see searches of the databases and an expansion for purposes that were not intended when the information was collected.” “

Regulations … shall include a provision requiring a record of transaction of any transfer that occurred between an unlicensed transferor and unlicensed transferee,” according to the bill. The ACLU’s second “significant concern” with Reid’s legislation is that it too broadly defines the term “transfer,” creating complicated criminal law that law-abiding Americans may unwittingly break. “[I]t’s certainly a civil liberties concern,” Calabrese told TheDC. “You worry about, in essence, a criminal justice trap where a lawful gun owner who wants to obey the law inadvertently runs afoul of the criminal law.” “They don’t intend to transfer a gun or they don’t think that’s what they’re doing, but under the law they can be defined as making a transfer. We think it’s important that anything that is tied to a criminal sanction be easy to understand and avoid allowing too much prosecutorial discretion.” “For example, different gun ranges are treated differently,” Calabrese said. “You’re firing a firearm in one geographic location, you’re OK, but in another, you’re not. And those kind things, it’s going to be hard for your average consumer to really internalize and figure out the difference.” “Criminal sanctions shouldn’t hinge on those kinds of differences,” he said. Separate from the ACLU’s concerns with a universal background check system, Calabrese flagged another provision of the legislation invented by Sen. Boxer that the ACLU is “worried about” — school tiplines for the reporting of “potentially dangerous students” “We’re worried about this tip line,” Calabrese admitted. “We think we already have a phone number for reporting dangerous situations — it’s called 9-1-1.” “The tip line doesn’t have any guidance for who should be included, how we should vet these requests, who should be included in the system, what you should do with this information once you get it,” he warned. “It just seems like a dangerously unregulated avenue that’s going to risk pushing more kids into the criminal justice system.” “What’s a school supposed to do if they get an anonymous phone call that some kid is dangerous?” Calabrese went on. “How are they supposed to treat that? Do they have liability if they ignore it? Should this kid be suspended? Or should he be scrutinized by a school safety officer because of an anonymous tip?” Read more: Daily Caller Here is where the information will remain: Filmed from Redwood Road, you can see the progress of the NSA’s Utah Data Center also called the NSA Spy Center FROM:  NSA Spy Center Revealed: 100 years worth of data

Harry Reid to change Senate rules so he can be a dictator too

I am trying to get myself off the ledge and remain a warrior. Not a happy one, and feeling more like a Historian at the time of the Roman empire. That said, as they say, the higher the rise, the faster the fall.  Now it is Obama’s tenure. No longer can Bush be blamed. So here we go in the new bi-partisan approach that will bring us all together.

Looks like Reid is going to bore down similar to Obama. I guess the rule change regarding Obamacare wasn’t enough. Nothing like the taste acquired for those who chose power over the law. Forget that Reid refuses to let any of the hundreds of bills passed by the House ever see the light of day over at his venue, Forget no budget has been passed by the Senate. So here we go, let’s get this government dismantled and quick. First, a memory from Harry. He thinks we smell.

WASHINGTON — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) pledged on Wednesday to change the rules of the Senate so that the minority party has fewer tools to obstruct legislative business. (The GOP is so annoying-don’t you just hate having three branches)?

In his first post-election press conference, the Nevada Democrat said he wouldn’t go so far as to eliminate the filibuster, which requires 60 votes for the chamber to enter and exit the amendment and debate process. But in remarks meant to preview a more combative approach during the next session, he warned Republicans that obstructionism as a tactic won’t be tolerated — or as technically feasible. (Combative-now that is a new approach-Boehner, please don’t cry).

“I want to work together, but I also want everyone to also understand, you cannot push us around. We want to work together,” Reid said. (This is where you chuckle)

“I do” have plans to change the Senate rules, he added. “I have said so publicly and I continue to feel that way … I think the rules have been abused, and we are going to work to change them. We will not do away with the filibuster, but we will make the senate a more meaningful place. We are going to make it so we can get things done.”

Terrorist Reid pines for his Pomegrante tree UPDATE

UPDATE: Harry pines no more. The DOT found a “clause” that permits Harry to have funding for his pork. No Congress needed. Go home and smell the roses Harry, enjoy.. you just screwed the Nation once again. UPDATE II:i Bill passed by Congress extended to September. Bet DOT will take care of the union issue via the “clause”.

You would think that it is the GOP that is causing the shutdown to the FAA projects now wouldn’t you? Holding America hostage once again. Unwilling to participate in shared sacrifice. Shucks.

Meanwhile poor Harry pines for his pomegranate tree. Only in America with the MSM could you have this buffoon hold this power without questioning his mental state. Drop the Pork, Harry, give up the pork for your private airport. Give it up Harry, it is over. Here you go:

While the public was focused on the potential government shutdown over the debt ceiling debate, Harry Reid quietly forced a partial shutdown of the FAA.  For months, Reid has blocked a long-term extension of the FAA reauthorization, while forcing Congress to pass reckless short-term measures that lacked much-needed reform.

The last extension expired July 23, but Harry Reid has refused to consider the House-passed extension through September.  The House bill cut a subsidy program to three rural airports, where the cost of subsidized flights was hopelessly uneconomical.  One of those airports, White Pine County Airport in Ely, Nevada, enjoys a subsidy to the tune of $3,720 per passenger!  [Read more about it here]  Yet, Reid refused to relinquish his selfish pork, causing a partial shutdown of the FAA and the furloughing of 4,000 employees.  Additionally, the shutdown has cost the government millions in lost revenue from taxes on airline tickets.  So much for a balanced approach on revenue. Reid says ‘visitors are smelly’ and ‘Cantor is Childish’

Anyone recall Reid’s comments about the “smelly visitors”? I couldn’t resist  this video of Harry Reid. Let me think about who is childish!! Enjoy

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says House Majority Leader Eric Cantor should not be part of the debt limit negotiations. He’s calling the Virginia Republican congressman “childish.”

Reid says Cantor’s conduct during the sensitive White House talks have shown, in Reid’s words, “he shouldn’t even be at the table.” Reid says other congressional leaders are negotiating in good faith as an Aug. 2 deadline approaches for raising the debt limit. Yahoo News

Harry Reid Doesn’t Like “Smelly Tourists”

It’s Friday– and chuckle time. Let’s take a ride in the way back machine and take a look at Harry Reid and his view of us knuckle draggers who come and visit congress. Sharon– this has the makings of another good ad.

Better yet, let’s throw Babs into the story.
