Senator John Fetterman on Fracking ‘They’re Eating Dogs and Cats’

In a once in a lifetime interview with John Fetterman, the interviewer decided to put  Fetterman’s feet to the fire regarding a whole host of unpleasant topics. None of the questions could have been any finer that the question on fracking in Pennsylvania.

PA Sen. John Fetterman  joined Meet the Press –

Things went south for Fetterman when he was hit with some surprisingly tough questions from Welker on fracking. Welker started by noting Kamala Harris’s long history of supporting a ban on fracking, going back to her days as California Attorney General when she sued the Obama regime over it and asked why people should trust Harris now.

Instead of answering directly, Fetterman said that it was “strange” they were talking about fracking at all and started rambling about a series of issues not remotely related to the question at hand.

To Welker’s credit, she refused to let Fetterman off the hook and brought up his own flip-flop from supporting a ban on fracking before suddenly backing it just before he decided to run for Senate in 2022. Once again, Fetterman refused to answer, calling it a “gotcha” question, laughably taking Harris at her current word on fracking and bragging about his win over Dr. Oz in the Senate election.

At 5:17 we get into the good stuff on fracking.

Harris Flubs and Flip Flops in Interview

It is hard to pass by the opportunity to take a swipe at the infamous faux interview of Harris by CNN. For those of us who have been following her gaffes and folly, it was no big surprise. Carving out the best 18 minutes of the interview, leaving the worst of the nonsense on the cutting room floor, didn’t save her. Nor the often multiple choice answers offered her.

Of course those of us in Pennsylvania appreciate her “fracking position.” Thus one of the high points for myself. Here first is her position back in the day.

Let’s see if we can follow the story line. Thanks goes to the interviewer for prompting Harris to recall her memorized line:

I think Jesse did a good job of summing up the spectacle. Even down to the strange furniture set up.

Fox News host Jesse Watters calls out the vice president for flip-flopping on issues on ‘Jesse Watters Primetime.’

Any one else recall the days of the “Flip Flops” that were brought to Kerry’s Town Halls? Everyone chanting Flip Flops holding them up in the air? How about this ad?

Watch out for Biden’s next land grab via the Monuments Act

In the waning days of the Obama administration, Obama  finished off his ravaging the land taking control  of more land to make sure we would be energy dependent and finish off tens of thousands of good paying jobs. I listened closely to Biden’s first day of E.O.’s and a close ear would have heard him add  he wanted to “expand the Monuments land.”

Let us be clear what that is suppose to be:

What did the National Monuments Act do?
In 1906, Congress passed the General Antiquities Act. The Act, drafted by an archaeologist, gave the President the power to set aside objects and structures of historic and scientific interest as national monuments. 54 U.S.C. 320301.

No surprise, it’s been abused to grab tons of federal land. Once land is set aside and cannot be reversed.

So we ain’t see nothing yet… Let’s take a look at just how devastating has been so far.

Flashback: Obama eyes taking control of the Arctic, adding to Monuments Act

We learn that Obama has eyes on the Arctic. Of course, to remove any opportunity for oil and gas exploration and adding to the larder of government controlled land and water. In the last year alone added 750,000 acres. All under the Monuments Act. The result? No turning back. Of course he will do this and much more. Here tis;

In September President Obama created the first marine national monument in the Atlantic Ocean, roping off around 5,000 square miles in waters near the coast of Cape Cod. The month before, he designated over 440,000 square miles in the Pacific off the coast of Hawaii.

Now, as the president begins his lame duck stint, environmental groups are pressuring him to turn his focus to Arctic waters, with the goal of permanently banning oil and gas development in the region. And that prospect has become even more likely following last week’s election result and the advent of a Trump Administration, which has pledged to provide industry with greater access.

President Obama‘s use of the 1906 Antiquities Act is already unmatched. In an effort to secure his environmental legacy, his administration has created or enlarged 26 national monuments since 2011, including 14 in just the past year and a half, collectively totaling more than 750,000 square miles.

Any national monument designation is effectively final. That means portions of America’s Arctic Ocean bestowed with monument status would be removed from oil and gas development forever, even if a later administration, with the benefit of hindsight, wanted to reverse the order.

If environmental groups are successful in banning offshore oil and gas development, it will have dire and lasting consequences. More at Washington Examiner

Obama gobbles up 400,000 square miles for the government

President Obama, with the stroke of a pen, created the world’s largest ocean reserve on Friday off Hawaii, 400,000 square miles, days after designating a massive federal monument in Maine – moves that have angered local lawmakers who accuse the president of disregarding the impact on residents.

I just got done posting on August 22, 2016 Obama and the Greenies seeking massive land grab in Utah

Obama used a presidential proclamation to expand the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument off the coast of Hawaii by over 400,000 square miles. The preserve now stretches 582,578 square miles, the world’s largest marine protected area. .

Trump overturns Obama’s ‘fracking’ rules but the story is not what you think

I slid over to one of the “other” news channels for a sec…. of course I heard all of the doom and gloom that Trump was over turning Obama’s fracking rules and would allow undisclosed chemicals into God’s green earth… then I caught this from the Daily Caller which gives us the back story,. (Trump has as well solved the coal regs problem already) I nominate this as one of the best fake news stories of the year….

President Donald Trump’s administration will give a belated gift to American energy producers and repeal former President Barack Obama-era regulations for hydraulic fracturing operations on federal lands.

The Interior Department is expected to publish a repeal of the rule in the Federal Register on Friday, and already the oil and gas industry are celebrating. Producers challenged were locked in court battles over the rule since it was finalized in 2015.

“It was clear from the start that the federal rule was redundant with state regulation and politically motivated, as the prior administration could not point to one incident or regulatory gap that justified the rule,” Kathleen Sgamma, president of Western Energy Alliance, said in a statement.

Interior will publish the repeal of the rule two days after the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals dismissed an attempt to revive the Obama-era regulation. The court gave Interior until mid-January to repeal the rule.

Soviet born Boris Bershteyn, Cass Sunstein’s replacement a sleeper cell

Recall my post Cass Sunstein replaced by Soros’s Soviet born Boris Bershteyn? He never got brought forward for a Senate confirmation hearing as required apparently. Or so we thought. But Obama seems to have managed a round about way of letting him slip by without one. First a bit of the back story, then the update. Just where are our GOPers on this? His position more powerful than the EPA. This sure will put energy on a fast track now won’t it?

Boris Bershteyn, the budget office’s general counsel, will replace Sunstein as acting director. Bershteyn is a natural choice. He was born in the Soviet Union, earned his law degree at Yale, and was selected as a 2001 “fellow” by the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans. Paul Soros is the elder brother of the notorious globalist and darling of the financial class, George Soros.

Boris Bershteyn

Between his tours at OMB, he served as Special Assistant to the President and Associate White House Counsel, with responsibility for legal issues in regulatory, economic, health, and environmental policy.ACUS Gov

The new Administrator of OIRA will have powerful influence on any proposed energy and environmental policies, in addition to proposals or new regulations in any other sector. The OIRA has already exercised plenty of revisions to Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Agency proposals involving issues such as coal mining, fracking, energy exports and renewable energy sources. The Administration’s proposed new regulations involving air quality, emissions controls on power plants, and regulations addressing climate change increase pressure on Obama to choose a new administrator as these issues need to be addressed quickly

President Obama is now under pressure to appoint a new administrator at the OIRA. The position of OIRA administrator has been unfilled since August, when Cass Sunstein stepped down after serving for three years. A lawyer named Boris Bershteyn has been serving as Acting Administrator in the interim, but there is a time limit on how long the position can remain vacant. Bershteyn is approaching his limit of 210 days as acting Administrator, and Obama must soon appoint someone to the position permanently. The appointment also needs to be approved by the Senate. Because Bershteyn’s 210 days will be up sometime next week and no successor has been named, the White House may simply remove his “Acting Administrator” title.

Boom times for Mining in Pennsylvania

Things are looking up in Pennsylvania. What were previously becoming ghost towns or bedroom communities for New Yorkers, are now providing jobs for locals. How long will the EPA allow the drilling? Who knows. New York has essentially shut it down. Hopefully there will be found safe and effective methods for drilling and a rational approach to our energy requirements. This goes to prove that “Drill Baby Drill” is a way out of our tax revenue problems and high unemployment.

Under the headline “Marcellus Shale drilling creates 48000 jobs, report says,” the Patriot-News reports this: (Click to enlarge image)

“Nearly 48,000 people have been hired in the last year by industries related to drilling in the Marcellus Shale, and 71 percent of those people were Pennsylvania residents. Nine thousand of them were hired in the first three months of 2011. The average salary was higher than the statewide average. And the rate of hiring is accelerating.”
