New Executive Order – food, gas prices to skyrocket

Here is a White House Executive Order that should raise the price of food and gas to be prohibitive. Enough rules and regs and most businesses bend under the weight. An outright ban? Not sure about that, but farmers will bear the cost and burden. We will no doubt end up riding bicycles and foraging for food if Obama has his way.

Just as Stalin starved millions in the Ukraine as part of his consolidation of
power this administration with Obama as it’s figurehead are planning on
starving their intended subjects into submission.

Obama issued an Executive order on August 1, 2013 that will effectively ban Ammonium Nitrate in the USA. It will become too expensive and create too much possible civil and criminal liability to manufacture, store, or transport it.  Clinton did the same thing to Anhydrous Ammonia dealers in 1999.  It put most Anhydrous dealers out of business.  Obama is imposing the same regs and adding explosives regulations on top of OSHA and EPA regulations.  It’s all there if you know how to read bureacratese.

Tannerite will probably be banned outright as soon as DHS & BATFE finish making policy based on this E.O.  Whether or not they can criminalize it I don’t know.  You can count on it being taken off the market though.  The government has had it’s sights on Tannerite for a long time now.

Food and Fuel prices will skyrocket because Ammonium Nitrate forms the basis for almost all nitrogen in granular fertilizers used in American farming.  There are no cost and ease of manufacture/use equivalents for ammonium nitrate.  Supply and demand economics are going to be the harsh lesson of the day.  Crop yields will go down.  Corn is the basis for the American food supply and the fuel additive ethanol.  A.N. is critical in corn production.

This is my take on the first step in the E.O. to gain control of this commodity. Always a pilot program first.

(a) Within 45 days of the date of this order, the Working Group shall deploy a
pilot program, involving the EPA, Department of Labor, Department of Homeland  Security, and any other appropriate agency, to validate best practices and to  test innovative methods for Federal interagency collaboration regarding chemical  facility safety and security. The pilot program shall operate in at least one region and shall integrate regional Federal, State, local, and tribal assets, where appropriate. The pilot program shall include innovative and effective methods of collecting, storing, and using facility information, stakeholder outreach, inspection planning, and, as appropriate, joint inspection efforts.
The Working Group shall take into account the results of the pilot program in developing integrated standard operating procedures pursuant to subsection (b)  of this section.

Soviet born Boris Bershteyn, Cass Sunstein’s replacement a sleeper cell

Recall my post Cass Sunstein replaced by Soros’s Soviet born Boris Bershteyn? He never got brought forward for a Senate confirmation hearing as required apparently. Or so we thought. But Obama seems to have managed a round about way of letting him slip by without one. First a bit of the back story, then the update. Just where are our GOPers on this? His position more powerful than the EPA. This sure will put energy on a fast track now won’t it?

Boris Bershteyn, the budget office’s general counsel, will replace Sunstein as acting director. Bershteyn is a natural choice. He was born in the Soviet Union, earned his law degree at Yale, and was selected as a 2001 “fellow” by the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans. Paul Soros is the elder brother of the notorious globalist and darling of the financial class, George Soros.

Boris Bershteyn

Between his tours at OMB, he served as Special Assistant to the President and Associate White House Counsel, with responsibility for legal issues in regulatory, economic, health, and environmental policy.ACUS Gov

The new Administrator of OIRA will have powerful influence on any proposed energy and environmental policies, in addition to proposals or new regulations in any other sector. The OIRA has already exercised plenty of revisions to Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Agency proposals involving issues such as coal mining, fracking, energy exports and renewable energy sources. The Administration’s proposed new regulations involving air quality, emissions controls on power plants, and regulations addressing climate change increase pressure on Obama to choose a new administrator as these issues need to be addressed quickly

President Obama is now under pressure to appoint a new administrator at the OIRA. The position of OIRA administrator has been unfilled since August, when Cass Sunstein stepped down after serving for three years. A lawyer named Boris Bershteyn has been serving as Acting Administrator in the interim, but there is a time limit on how long the position can remain vacant. Bershteyn is approaching his limit of 210 days as acting Administrator, and Obama must soon appoint someone to the position permanently. The appointment also needs to be approved by the Senate. Because Bershteyn’s 210 days will be up sometime next week and no successor has been named, the White House may simply remove his “Acting Administrator” title.

Obama unleashes 608 Regulations in July, costs $9.5 Billion

Oh the wringing of hands. What to do, what to do, what to do about this Economy. Why can’t we get those nasty Capitalist Pig business men and women to “unleash” their Capital instead of hoarding their stash? Perhaps there is a connection? Hmmm? Yes, indeed. Obama and his pivoting is really getting rare.

The Lonely Conservative snags this one

US News has the story:

At Tuesday’s GOP Senate caucus lunch, the lawmakers said that they will renew their efforts, supported by business groups like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. In a memo Barasso handed out to the lawmakers, he claimed that the administration in July only has put in $9.5 billion in new regulatory costs by proposing 229 new rules and finalizing 379 rules. Among those he cited were EPA, healthcare reform, and financial regulatory reform rules.

New England fishermen flotilla protests off Obama’s Martha’s Vineyard over more fed regulations

As explained by the ever-thoughtful Ed Morrissey, the move by Obama appointee Jane Lubchenco, the head of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, is designed to replace private fishing with new government-regulated operations:

“They want to close the fisheries into ‘commodities markets’ where the government essentially licenses fishermen and then allocates the catch based on a predetermined distribution plan. The ‘commodities markets’ will kill many fishing-based jobs and essentially turn fishermen into government employees, and they’re not happy about it.”

We first posted back in March:

Obama readies Executive Orders on Fishing and Energy: Read here   Dan Pfeiffer, the White House communications director. “In 2010, executive actions will also play a key role in advancing the agenda.”

“The challenges we had to address in 2009 ensured that the center of action would be in Congress,” said Dan Pfeiffer, the White House communications director. “In 2010, executive actions will also play a key role in advancing the agenda.”

From ESPEN “Every angler needs to be aware because if it’s not happening in your backyard today or tomorrow, it will be eventually.

As more evidence of collusion, the green groups began clamoring for an Executive Order to implement the task force’s recommendations even before the public comment period ended in February. Fishing advocates had no idea that this was coming.

“In spite of what we hear daily in the press about the President’s concern for jobs and the economy and contrary to what he stated in the June order creating this process, we have seen no evidence from NOAA or the task force that recreational fishing and related jobs are receiving any priority.”

Consequently, unless anglers speak up and convince their Congressional representatives to stop this bureaucratic freight train, it appears that the task force will issue a final report for “marine spatial planning” by late March, with President Barack Obama then issuing an Executive Order to implement its recommendations — whatever they may be. “The government wants control of all water — that also means that they want control over all of our land including the private property rights of people from the Rocky Mountain west, the western caucus and the entire United States.”

Michelle Malkin has an update as Fishermen protest over new regulations

Fishermen Flotilla Showdown at Martha’s Vineyard.

Michelle Malkin Update here

Having successfully shut down an estimated 23,000 American oil drilling jobs off the Gulf Coast, citing possible environmental concerns, the Obama administration is now moving on New England fishermen

The immediate boating protest is about their claim the feds are using bad science to set extremely limited area fishing allotments, certain to wipe out many traditional private family businesses.

The fishermen maintain that once-threatened stocks have returned naturally under existing regulations and don’t require the newly shaped government-run market system favored by President Obama. Elizabeth Scalia calls it: “So Soviet.”

Minister of Propaganda: Contest why Fed Regs are Great!

Yes, best to get to know how our new dictatorship works. Fed Regs will be coming down the pike as our Czars dictate proper living. Obamacare? It will be endless. Obama and his “Executive Orders”-be prepared.

EPA Contest Seeks Videos Promoting Government Regulations
President Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency is encouraging the public to create video advertisements that explain why federal regulations are “important to everyone.”

The videos must also remind viewers that regulations are the law and that they actually outnumber laws passed by Congress on the order of 10-1.

“Regulations have the power of law. Breaking them can result in fines and even jail time. Regulations outnumber Congressional statutes. For every statute passed by Congress and signed into law by the President, federal agencies create about 10 regulations, each of which have the force of law.”

The videos must also explain to viewers how regulations affect the everyday lives of Americans, showing just what the government does that has a “direct impact” on the lives of “every American citizen.”

The contest, which ends May 17, will award $2,500 to the makers of the video that best explains why federal regulations are good and how ordinary citizens can become more involved in making regulations. The videos must be posted on YouTube and can be no more than 60-90 seconds in length.

In the current contest, each video must include the slogan “Let your voice be heard,” and it must direct viewers to the government’s regulatory website www.Regulations.gov. The winning video will then be used by the entire federal government to promote the regulatory process and enhance the public’s participation in it.

As explained in the EPA press release announcing the contest, the purpose of the videos will be to remind the public that federal regulation touches “almost every aspect” of their lives and to promote how important those regulations are.

“The contest will highlight the significance of federal regulations and help the public understand the rulemaking process. Federal agencies develop and issue hundreds of rules and regulations every year to implement statutes written by Congress. Almost every aspect of an individual’s life is touched by federal regulations, but many do not understand how rules are made or how they can get involved in the process.” http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/64297
