Trump’s Shock and Awe Reaches the Sunday AM News Shows

Just a few short months ago, here is where we were.

Warning – some may find it offensive because it was.

Let’s get to the Sunday talkies. ABC News and Martha Raddatz:

Oh but I have news. He is not done with Raddatz. She couldn’t get off of the planes were going to keep flying. The old aperture opening…

Oh boy

CBS Margaret Brennan and Vance in his first interview since sworn in as Vice President. He equated himself well, and was a match for Brennan.

Brennan and Vance discussed several issues throughout their interview including cabinet nominations, immigration, disaster relief, and the J6 pardons. One moment that is garnering significant attention is the devoutly Catholic Vance calling out the US Conference of Catholic Bishops for their ridiculous statement on immigration enforcement.

Last week, the Trump Administration rescinded a guideline issued under the Biden regime which barred ICE from conducting enforcement in or near so-called “sensitive” areas. These areas included schools and churches, which have been known to harbor illegal aliens.

The US Conference of Catholic Bishops, which receives over $100 million to ‘resettle’ illegals every year, responded by complaining that the move will turn “places of care, healing, and solace into places of fear and uncertainty for those in need” while endangering “the trust between pastors” and “the people they serve.”

In response, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops said Sunday in a statement, “Faithful to the teaching of Jesus Christ, the Catholic Church has a long history of serving refugees.”

“In 1980, the bishops of the United States began partnering with the federal government to carry out this service when Congress created the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP). Every person resettled through USRAP is vetted and approved for the program by the federal government while outside of the United States,” the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops said.

Many resettlement refugee agencies are faith-based groups. On Friday many of these groups were also told some of their federal funding would be suspended days after Trump enacted an indefinite pause on admissions of refugees to the United States.

JD Vance just CALLED OUT the hypocrites who spent the last four years cashing over $100 million in government checks while remaining SILENT as countless young girls were sex trafficked, raped, and murdered thanks to Democrats’ open border:

Liar liar pants on fire. Biden and the Border Czar Kamala Harris.

We are now back in business.

Indeed, shock and awe arrived at the swamp.

D-Day is Here! Trump Inauguration With Some Golden Moments

What a ride it’s been this past year of so. One for the books that will be told to the grandkids and their kids. We were there. We witnessed all of the good, the bad and the ugliness of it all.

The Italians know how to treat our President.

From an Italian parade — “Donald Trump” as an emperor wearing very detailed armor. Note his Twitter Sword!

Kamala Harris Ends her Political Career this Week?

Harris made her TV rounds this week, and oh what we learned.

We learn that there was a editing on 60 minutes. Trump had figured a setup for himself and declined the interview. This as CBS spent the first minutes excoriating him not participating. Then who would have thought that going on  “The View” may have been the kiss of death for Harris?…….

Something on the lighter side for a difficult day.

Oopsie.. the old hot mike thingy.

Another question to have more insight. Get out the kleenex

Oh for the Statesmen and women such as Reagan and of course Margaret Thatcher.

Finally, Thatcher deals with the press. Kamala drinks beer.

Raskin Describes Method Congress to Use to Invalidate Trump’s Election

Raskin, who said Trump and his supporters caused an insurrection on Jan 6, 2020, says he and Congress can cause an insurrection on Jan 6, 2025 to keep Trump out of office if he wins. Just invalidate the election.

That is if the court doesn’t jail him prior to the official election day. Just breaking: Sentencing September 18, 2024 now.

US Supreme Court declines to halt Trump’s sentencing in hush money case

WASHINGTON, Aug 5 (Reuters) – The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday rejected a bid by the state of Missouri to halt Donald Trump’s upcoming sentencing for his conviction in New York on felony charges involving hush money paid to a porn star and left a related gag order until after the Nov. 5 presidential election.

The decision by the justices came in response to Missouri’s lawsuit claiming that the case against Trump infringed on the right of voters under the U.S. Constitution to hear from the Republican presidential nominee as he seeks to regain the White House

But if that doesn’t work, a re-discovered video has surfaced describing what could happen if all else fails and Trump is elected.

Breitbart brings us this:

In the video, which was filmed at the Politics and Prose bookstore in Washington, D.C. on February 17, 2024, Raskin predicted that the Supreme Court would block Democrats’ efforts to exclude Trump from the ballot in several states on the basis of Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment, and would instead say that Congress had that responsibility

Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment was adopted after the Civil War to bar former Confederates from holding federal office. Trump-haters on both the left and the right tried to argue that Trump had committed “insurrection” under the language of that section, and therefore was barred from running for president again.

Raskin went on to say that given the likely Supreme Court ruling, Congress would hypothetically have to take matters into its own hands, in the event that Trump won the election, triggering “civil war conditions”

And the greatest example going on right now before our very eyes is Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment, which they’re just disappearing with a magic wand, as if it doesn’t exist, even though it could not be clearer what it’s stating. And so they want to kick it to Congress, so it’s going to be up to us on January 6, 2025, to tell the rampaging Trump mobs that he’s disqualified. And then we need bodyguards for everybody, and civil war conditions, all because the nine justices — not all of them, but these justices who have not many cases to look at every year, not that much work to do, a huge staff, great protection — simply do not want to do their job and interpret what the great Fourteenth Amendment means.

H/T: Breitbart

For the complete video and set up that includes more of his remarks:

Raskin went on to say that given the likely Supreme Court ruling, Congress would hypothetically have to take matters into its own hands, in the event that Trump won the election, triggering “civil war conditions” (emphasis added — see 58:39 in the video below):

So which hat trick will the Dems pull over the next months to keep Trump from office? No wonder the stock market is crashing. The market is starting to see the precariousness of the situation.

Oregon Set to Vote on Ballot Initiative of $750. A Year for Everyone with 3% Tax on Corporations

Here is a ballot initiative that portends Oregon’s final throes into becoming the socialist utopia so many have hoped for. Take from the rich and give to the poor and why stop at $750.00 a year? Why not per month or per week? After all, the job creators should be punished. And why not. Outside the state groups are salivating and donating in support of this initiative. Here we go:

Oregon voters will likely decide in November whether to establish a historic universal basic income program that would give every state resident roughly $750 annually from increased corporate taxes.

Proponents of the concept say they likely have enough signatures to place it on the ballot this fall, and opponents are taking them seriously.

The proposal, Initiative Petition 17, would establish a 3% tax on corporations’ sales in Oregon above $25 million and distribute that money equally among Oregonians of all ages. As of Friday, its backers had turned in more than 135,000 signatures, which is higher than the 117,173 required to land on the ballot. The validity of those signatures must still be certified by the Secretary of State’s Office.

“Yes, the funders are from California, but these are not like nefarious outside interests here,” Martinez said. “These are people who are committed to basic income.”

Oregon business groups are preparing to fight the measure. State business lobby Oregon Business and Industry and tax policy research nonprofit Tax Foundation say raising corporate taxes would harm companies and lead to higher costs of goods and services.

“(The proposed measure) would impose a massive tax increase in Oregon,” Oregon Business and Industry said in a statement.
“It’s looking really good. It’s really exciting,” said Anna Martinez, a Portland hairstylist who helped form the group behind the campaign, Oregon People’s Rebate, in 2020. If approved by voters, the program would go into effect in January 2025.

Scotland’s Muslim Prime Minister ‘s Government Toters – Call for Confidence Vote -UPDATE

UPDATE:

Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf Resigns Less Than One Month After Introduction of Hate Speech Censorship Law

In a spectacular act of political self-immolation, far-left censorship czar Humza Yousaf announced his resignation as Scottish First Minister on Monday morning before facing the prospect of being forcibly removed by a vote of no-confidence.

Infamously censorious, race-baiting Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf has announced he is stepping down, a victim of his own political machinations after he summarily dismissed his coalition partners in an apparent bid to avoid them doing the same to him, first.

Back to the post:

Wind the clock back. Say a year. Scotland has a new Muslim Prime Minister. His name Humza Yousaf. It is said:

“Scotland’s New Prime Minster, Muslim Humza Yousaf (Pakistani origin), spends his first night at the Bute House performing the tarâwîh prayer for Ramadan. Yousaf and his family have ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, and terror-tied organizations. Yousaf has fought to usher in sharia blasphemy in Scotland. Furthermore, he is racist that is known to hunt down whites in Scottish Institutions so it’s claimed

Scotland’s governing party elected radical Humza Yousaf as its new leader on Monday, making him the first “person of color and the first Muslim” to lead the country of 5.5 million people, celebrated the left-wing media.” (Source)

Is what they claimed true? I have no proof at this point.

Yousaf narrowly defeated rival Kate Forbes after a bruising five-week contest that exposed deep fractures within the pro-independence Scottish National Party (SNP) as it faces an impasse in its quest to take Scotland out of the United Kingdom.

Yousaf, just 37 years old, became the leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP) on Monday after receiving 52% of the vote in a second ballot.

One thing is for sure, the Scots seem determined to destroy their culture.

1.4% of people said they were Muslim. That’s an increase of 0.6 percentage points since 2001. Buddhists, Hindus and Sikhs made up 0.7% (2021) Source

Logically his expectations that follow in the argument below is a bit unrealistic. His first screed out of the box.

He sure started out on a fast footing. Hugely anti-Israel, he bemoans in a video that his wife’s parents are now trapped in Palestine. Which only raises more questions.

Why is it that this generation of “immigrant” or whatever insists that the host country is expected to bend to their requirements of culture? That they must be represented as major influencers? Scotland is not exactly on the main trade route for immigrants finding their way to a new “homeland.” Yet Yousef promises that he will be more than happy to accommodate.

The Scots are in a quandary today. The headline

Scotland’s under-pressure leader insists he won’t resign before crunch confidence vote next week

Scotland’s leader has insisted that he won’t be resigning amid the fallout of his decision to pull the plug on a three-year power-sharing agreement that has made his Scottish National Party a minority government

The pressure on First Minister Humza Yousaf has ratcheted up sharply since he abandoned the power-sharing deal with the much smaller Greens on Thursday following a clash over climate change policies. He is set to face a no-confidence vote in the Scottish Parliament next week.

“I intend absolutely to fight that vote of no confidence, I’ve got every intention of winning that vote of no confidence,” he said in a hastily arranged trip to Dundee.

Following his decision to ditch the deal with the Greens, the Scottish Conservatives put forward a motion of no confidence in Yousaf as first minister.

I am a bit rusty on my Scottish history. “Brave Heart” is where I last left off.

I doubt this fellow is steeped in Scotland’s rich history. As far as the culture? Not so much either.

Warning: Brace Yourself For What’s Coming in 2024 – Victor Davis Hanson

More Americans are coming to the conclusion that the next election may indeed determine the fate of the United States. In an unforgettable talk, we hear the unvarnished opinion of what is at stake, and how those who have so much at stake with the status quo, have it all on the line and the lengths to which they will go to maintain the status quo. One not to be missed, and a transcript link of the full video is included here as well. Here is part of it.

Conservative historian and professor Victor Davis Hanson has released a new video and it is basically a warning for America.

The essence of Hanson’s message is a reminder of how far the left went to stop Trump last time and that people should be prepared for them to do anything this time.

It’s an ominous warning but it’s important to think ahead and be mentally prepared for anything, because that’s what is on the table.

A report at The Gateway Pundit summarized his comments with: “The essence of Hanson’s message is a reminder of how far the left went to stop Trump last time and that people should be prepared for them to do anything this time.”

His comments include: “They look at Trump as a vampire and they put a stake in his heart but they’re afraid that that stake could come out any time. That he’s undying and they’re afraid of him. They are terrified of him.”

He explained, “They are terrified of him because they think he’s smarter this time and he has just cause to really get angry because of what they did to him. They can write all of The Atlantic Monthly and New Yorker clever, glib little essays about ‘Donald Trump is a threat to democracy,’ and their little Molly Ball in Time Magazine essays how clever and brilliant they were with their cabals and conspiracies to get rid of him.

“But deep down inside they know that if the right ever did that to Barack Obama or Joe Biden, they could have really made something out of the fact that Barack Obama had a hot mic expose where he told the president of Russia, ‘You tell Vladimir that I will be flexible on missile defense.’

That’s the security of the United States of America. ‘If he gives me space in my last election.’ Putin did do that. That’s an impeachable offense if a phone call to Ukraine is. So they understand that, the right could have done that to them, and they understand now the right probably will do that to them for their own survival, and they are scared.”

Hanson noted, “They’re saying that if a MAGA candidate wins, and they win the House and Senate, they’re cooked because they’re going to get special prosecutors and go after the Biden family like they’ve never gone after anybody.”

He turned blunt, “You’re never going to see anything like what they’re going to do in 2024.”

And he charged that Democrats simply cannot run on their record, so their only pitch to Americans is a “hate-Trump” ideology.

Did Trump Win Two-Thirds of Election Lawsuits Where Merits Considered?

Elevator Charles takes to Twitter aka X and runs one heck of a thread on Trump’s history of court actions. He reports that 30 cases decided on their merits, Trump and his allies were victorious 22 times.

The story has been around the horn for more than a year, but it’s worth taking a look.

Politifact takes issue with the headline and graph produced by Epoch Times and claims it’s false.

The Epoch Times, “Trump Won Two-Thirds of Election Lawsuits Where Merits Considered,” Feb. 7, 2021

In its article, the Epoch Times cited an analysis of “81 lawsuits that were filed in connection with the Nov. 3, 2020 presidential election.”

Droz and a team of volunteers spearheaded that work and published their findings in a public spreadsheet. It includes cases spanning from March to December 2020 and links to copies of lawsuits published by the Healthy Elections Project, an initiative from Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

When I checked it out, Politifacts includes in making their opinion:

The Feb. 7 headline of an article from the Epoch Times, a media outlet backed by the Falun Gong religious movement, said: “Trump Won Two-Thirds of Election Lawsuits Where Merits Considered.”

The article was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Facebook.

The Epoch Times attributed the tally to John Droz Jr., who it described as a “physicist and environmental advocate in Morehead City, N.C.” Droz is a political activist who has denied the science of climate change and advocated against legislation aimed at mitigating sea-level rise.

(Bunks earlier post: Southern Poverty Law Center secretly policing content for YouTube)

What does anything of that have to do with the truth of the matter? The graph they acknowledge comes from: copies of lawsuits published by the Healthy Elections Project, an initiative from Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

So let’s give the story a whirl since I perked up and decided to run with it anyway, after reading the above.

Keep in mind the Wayback copy of the Epoch post clearly states:

The findings do not necessarily suggest that if the lawsuits had all been decided before Joe Biden was certified as the official winner of the presidential election by Congress on Jan. 7 that former President Trump would have won the hotly contested election.

Nor would they necessarily have affected many of the Electoral College votes won by Biden in the disputed battleground states. Some of the legal victories took place in states like Colorado and Iowa where the popular vote counts for the respective winners of those states –Biden in Colorado and Trump in Iowa— were not close.

I will let you decide at this point.  Here is Elevator Charles’s tweet:

There have been 92 total court cases brought by Trump questioning the stolen 2020 election. More than two-thirds were dismissed on technicalities—with lack of standing being among the most frequently cited. Worth a look:The Epoch Times, “Trump Won Two-Thirds of Election Lawsuits Where Merits Considered,” Feb. 7, 2021

Best of the swamp and this surely was a deep dive. One thing, we learned a whole lot about Politifact. Also, Trump believed that he won the election which counters the charge of the GA DA who claims he knowingly fought to win an election he knew he lost.

Gov Katie Hobbs Says Arizona Should Prosecute Trump For Questioning The Election.

The purge begins. Legal beagles have suggested that the RICO charge brought against Trump in Georgia may in fact strengthen a case for the Federal courts to assume authority. The twist now apparently is since Georgia brought in evidence from other states those states are thinking, “why not us too?” We might as well file charges against Trump as well. Not to stop there though, two years have passed so just now they go after Arizona electors too?

So are we to have a traveling circus with Trump and his group of merry men wandering the State courts, charged because he ever questioned the legitimacy of the election? Perp walks? Mug shots? Here we go:

Katie Hobbs (D-AZ) said on Tuesday that President Trump should be prosecuted by Arizona for challenging the 2020 presidential election.

Hobbs’ comment was reported by KTAR-FM. Hobbs said in response to being asked if she would like to see Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes follow Georgia and file charges against Trump, “Absolutely. I have been an advocate for holding folks involved in trying to overturn the will of the voters of, in the 2020 election accountable and this is part of that process.”

H/T: Gateway Pundit

Notes from the video.

As legal troubles mount for former President Donald Trump and his allies, there are now questions as to whether criminal charges will be filed against people who falsely declared Trump as the winner of the 2020 presidential election in Arizona. On Aug. 16, Arizona’s Attorney General is speaking out on the matter. FOX 10’s Nicole Garcia reports.

Longer conversation about Hobbs’ comment by KTAR hosts Larry Gaydos and Chad Benson:

Hobbs is trying to back track on her statement, but its clear the intent of her statement. Yes, time to go after all the “little people” as well.  This discussion is something to behold.

This is what we have come to apparently in the USA.

The best of the swamp today.

Prosecutors Signal Criminal Charges for Trump

Sickening … Soros prosecutor in Manhattan using novel legal theories to possibly charge the former president?  Trying to create legal theories to indict a former president!  What kind of third world crap is this!?!

Has the Manhattan DA’s office ever signed Non-Disclosure Agreements with any employees?  As a condition of employment, or upon departure?  HUSH MONEY?

So go the above tweets by Mark Levin.

“The former president was told that he could appear before a Manhattan grand jury next week if he wishes to testify, a strong indication that an indictment could soon follow.” so go the New York Times.

So for five long years the New York D.A. has “investigated” Donald Trump and this is the best they could do?  Recall the world of Trump was suppose to collapse when “they” achieved his tax returns? Nary a word since the documents dropped and “they” now have moved on to rehash Stormy Daniels? All on falsifying business tax returns which at the worst is a misdemeanor.

Here we go with the New York Times:

(By the way this article was a freebie. Now making an offer offer of $5 bucks a month to read their rag.)

The Manhattan district attorney’s office recently signaled to Donald J. Trump’s lawyers that he could face criminal charges for his role in the payment of hush money to a porn star, the strongest indication yet that prosecutors are nearing an indictment of the former president, according to four people with knowledge of the matter.

In New York, potential defendants have the right to answer questions in the grand jury before they are indicted, but they rarely testify, and Mr. Trump is likely to decline the offer. His lawyers could also meet privately with the prosecutors in hopes of fending off criminal charges.

Any case would mark the first indictment of a former American president, and could upend the 2024 presidential race in which Mr. Trump remains a leading contender. It would also elevate Mr. Bragg to the national stage, though not without risk, and a conviction in the complex case is far from assured.

…….
In Georgia, the Fulton County District Attorney is investigating whether Mr. Trump interfered in the 2020 election, and at the federal level, a special counsel is scrutinizing Mr. Trump’s effort to overturn the election results, as well as his handling of classified documents.
The Manhattan inquiry, which has spanned nearly five years, centers on a $130,000 payment to the porn star, Stormy Daniels, who said she had an affair with Mr. Trump. The payment was made in the final days of the 2016 presidential campaign by Michael Cohen, Mr. Trump’s former fixer, who was later reimbursed by Mr. Trump from the White House.

Even if Mr. Trump is indicted, convicting him or sending him to prison will be challenging. The case against the former president hinges on an untested and therefore risky legal theory involving a complex interplay of laws, all amounting to a low-level felony. If Mr. Trump were ultimately convicted, he would face a maximum sentence of four years, though prison time would not be mandatory.

Mr. Trump’s lawyers are also sure to attack Mr. Cohen, who in 2018 pleaded guilty to federal charges related to the hush money.

…..

In New York, falsifying business records can amount to a crime, albeit a misdemeanor. To elevate the crime to a felony charge, Mr. Bragg’s prosecutors must show that Mr. Trump’s “intent to defraud” included an intent to commit or conceal a second crime.

Conclusion.

Regardless of one’s position on Trump, these are dangerous waters we are treading. If the method to subvert political candidates from being able to run, or damage them is such a way is to file questionable criminal charges, we are doomed as a Republic.

Trump Response:

Former President Donald Trump, in an interview with NEWSMAX Chief White House correspondent James Rosen, blasts the “witch hunt” of lawsuits against him, if they will impact his 2024 campaign, & a problem he has with Vice President Kamala Harris.

So the beat goes on. The best of the swamp.
