Gov Katie Hobbs Says Arizona Should Prosecute Trump For Questioning The Election.

The purge begins. Legal beagles have suggested that the RICO charge brought against Trump in Georgia may in fact strengthen a case for the Federal courts to assume authority. The twist now apparently is since Georgia brought in evidence from other states those states are thinking, “why not us too?” We might as well file charges against Trump as well. Not to stop there though, two years have passed so just now they go after Arizona electors too?

So are we to have a traveling circus with Trump and his group of merry men wandering the State courts, charged because he ever questioned the legitimacy of the election? Perp walks? Mug shots? Here we go:

Katie Hobbs (D-AZ) said on Tuesday that President Trump should be prosecuted by Arizona for challenging the 2020 presidential election.

Hobbs’ comment was reported by KTAR-FM. Hobbs said in response to being asked if she would like to see Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes follow Georgia and file charges against Trump, “Absolutely. I have been an advocate for holding folks involved in trying to overturn the will of the voters of, in the 2020 election accountable and this is part of that process.”

Notes from the video.

As legal troubles mount for former President Donald Trump and his allies, there are now questions as to whether criminal charges will be filed against people who falsely declared Trump as the winner of the 2020 presidential election in Arizona. On Aug. 16, Arizona’s Attorney General is speaking out on the matter. FOX 10’s Nicole Garcia reports.

Longer conversation about Hobbs’ comment by KTAR hosts Larry Gaydos and Chad Benson:

Hobbs is trying to back track on her statement, but its clear the intent of her statement. Yes, time to go after all the “little people” as well.  This discussion is something to behold.

This is what we have come to apparently in the USA.

The best of the swamp today.

AZ Democrat: I Want My Generation to Kill Golf, ‘Self-Interested Parts of the Agriculture’ Industry

Something for a Saturday to remind us just how far left the left can go. I was looking forward  to sitting down and enjoying watching a round or two of golf on the golf channel this weekend.

Next weekend, Tiger Woods will be back at it, and we will see if he can do a repeat and continue his winning streak. I have many happy memories of a round of golf with my father on a Saturday. Enjoy it while you can.

Democratic state senator Juan Mendez (Ariz.) on Monday called for Arizona to adopt provisions of the Green New Deal because he wants to be “part of the generation that kills golf” and the “greedy parts of the agriculture business industry.”

Mendez participated in a press conference on “Earth Day” with Democrats and environmental activists, where he touted his support for the Green New Deal.

“I’d rather be part of the generation that kills golf and self-interested, greedy parts of the agriculture business industry than the one that killed the planet,” Mendez said. “I have no concern for just one industry’s future. I’m here to protect our shared future, and that does not have to include alfalfa just because it’s safe market choice and has high yields.”

The Green New Deal is a 14-page economic stimulus resolution that was released in February by self-described democratic socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) and Sen. Ed Markey (D., Mass.) that aims to fight income inequality and climate change. The American Action Forum study offered an estimate in February of the Green New Deal costing up to $94.4 trillion, or over $600,000 per household in the United States.

Songbird McCain Sings No More – His Toyko Rose circa 1969 audio

Just who was John McCain? I for one am done with the McCain extravaganza. Let’s take a look at a few myths. First his song and then a bit of his life. What we are watching is the making of a myth.

Apparently this recording was not released officially by the US Government, but was discovered inadvertently by someone searching through the US Archives and was mislabeled as something else. Notes to follow.

Transcript: To the Vietnamese people and the Government of the DRVN I’m John Sydney McCain 624787, Lieutenant Commander US Navy. Born 29 August 1936 Panama, home state (unaudible) Shot down 26 October 1967 A4 Aircraft.

I as a US Airman am Guilty of Crimes against the Vietnamese country and people. I have bombed their cities, towns and villages and caused many injuries, even death to the people of Vietnam. I was captured in the Capitol of Hanoi while attacking it.

After I was captured I was (inaudible) for the hospital in Hanoi where I received very good medical treatement. I was given an operation on my leg which allowed me to walk again and a cast on my right arm which was badly broken in three places.

The doctors were very good and they knew a great deal about the practice of medicine. I remained in the hospital for sometime and regained much of my health and strength. Since I arrived in the camp of detention, I have received humane and (inaudible) treatment. I received this good treatment and food, even though I came here as an aggressor and the people who I injured have much difficulty in their living standards.

I wish to express my deep gratitude for my kind treatment and I will never forget this kindness extended to me.

How about a little about his first wife? Written when he was running for President.

The wife U.S. Republican John McCain callously left behind

McCain likes to illustrate his moral fibre by referring to his five years as a prisoner-of-war in Vietnam. And to demonstrate his commitment to family values, the 71-year-old former US Navy pilot pays warm tribute to his beautiful blonde wife, Cindy, with whom he has four children.

But there is another Mrs McCain who casts a ghostly shadow over the Senator’s presidential campaign. She is seldom seen and rarely written about, despite being mother to McCain’s three eldest children.

And yet, had events turned out differently, it would be she, rather than Cindy, who would be vying to be First Lady. She is McCain’s first wife, Carol, who was a famous beauty and a successful swimwear model when they married in 1965. …snip

But when McCain returned to America in 1973 to a fanfare of publicity and a handshake from Richard Nixon, he discovered his wife had been disfigured in a terrible car crash three years earlier. Her car had skidded on icy roads into a telegraph pole on Christmas Eve, 1969. Her pelvis and one arm were shattered by the impact and she suffered massive internal injuries.

For nearly 30 years, Carol has maintained a dignified silence about the accident, McCain and their divorce. But last week at the bungalow where she now lives at Virginia Beach, a faded seaside resort 200 miles south of Washington, she told The Mail on Sunday how McCain divorced her in 1980 and married Cindy, 18 years his junior and the heir to an Arizona brewing fortune, just one month later.

Snip

‘My marriage ended because John McCain didn’t want to be 40, he wanted to be 25. You know that happens…it just does.’

Some of McCain’s acquaintances are less forgiving, however. They portray the politician as a self-centred womaniser who effectively abandoned his crippled wife to ‘play the field’. They accuse him of finally settling on Cindy, a former rodeo beauty queen, for financial reasons.

McCain was then earning little more than £25,000 a year as a naval officer, while his new father-in-law, Jim Hensley, was a multi-millionaire who had impeccable political connections.

He first met Carol in the Fifties while he was at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis. He was a privileged, but rebellious scion of one of America’s most distinguished military dynasties – his father and grandfather were both admirals.

But setting out to have a good time, the young McCain hung out with a group of young officers who called themselves the ‘Bad Bunch’.

His primary interest was women and his conquests ranged from a knife-wielding floozy nicknamed ‘Marie, the Flame of Florida’ to a tobacco heiress.Fulls story at Daily Mail

Then let’s throw this in for good measure:

John McCain and George Soros – happy together, won’t say where $6 Mil came from

What we do know, thanks to an investigation by The Daily Caller, is that the McCain Institute for International Leadership received a VERY GENEROUS donation from none other than George Soros.

The institute is intended to serve as a “legacy” for McCain. It “is dedicated to advancing human rights, dignity, democracy and freedom”. It is also a tax-exempt non-profit foundation with assets valued at $8.1 million and associated with Arizona State University.

John McCain turned over nearly $9 million in unspent funds from his failed 2008 presidential campaign to a new foundation bearing his name, the McCain Institute for International Leadership.

Sarah Palin Banned from McCain Funeral

Now I have had enough of the McCain traveling casket road show. Not wanting any bad juju, I was determined to stay off the topic. Alas, I did stray and left a comment over at Always on Watch called Insufferable Self-righteousness

Just imagine if a U.S. Senator or other major federal governmental official had designed his funeral to exclude Barack Hussein Obama!

My comment :

It shows even in death his ego rides on. First he lies in the AZ State capitol.  Then on to the D.C capitol. He must think that the mass of humanity wants to witness the event,

Instructions that will be sure to catch media attention as he tries to stick it to Trump one last time. It ends as contemptible as the rest of his saga.

Now the final coup de grâce. Embarrasses the one person that added some zing to McCain’s otherwise moribund Presidential Race. My Sarah.

John? You there? How about the first wife and kids? Did you banish them too as an unfortunate happening and not to be part of your side-show? You left her and the kids after her severe accident. After she tolerated your womanizing?

John McCain’s First Wife on the Pain of Him Leaving Her for Cindy …

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, who was Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)’s running mate in the 2008 presidential election, has been excluded from his funeral.

Breitbart News has independently confirmed an earlier report in People magazine, which reported that Palin was not sent an invitation, and was told through intermediaries to stay away from the ceremony.

McCain fundraiser Carla Eudy confirmed to People that Palin had not been invited — possibly, People speculated, at the behest of the McCain family.

The news comes on the tenth anniversary of the date in 2008 when Palin was announcedas McCain’s pick for Vice President.

Palin now joins President Donald Trump on the list of those barred from the funeral.

Last year, when McCain was reported to have said that he regretted choosing Palin instead of Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-VT), Palin described the news as a “gut punch” but refused to blame McCain personally, telling the UK Daily Mail that she blamed his “ghostwriters” for such reports.

Still, Palin never took offense, and always honored McCain. Even after being excluded from the funeral, she declined to criticize him.

People quoted a source close to the Palin family: “[O]ut of respect for Sen. McCain and his family we have nothing to add at this point. The Palin family will always cherish their friendship with the McCains and hold those memories dear.”

Bizarre Tucson Memorial

Humor me while I throw in my two cents. Perhaps it was the raucous whooping. Perhaps it was the opening ceremony with the Chief blessing all above, below, here, there, everywhere. Maybe it was the Holder and Napolitano reading the scriptures. No one of the cloth this time to invoke the spiritual. Janet shouting out “hello Tucson, hello Arizona” didn’t awaken my empathy, but perhaps it was her reading of Isaiah. “Make straight in the dessert a highway” that came to mind and did not bring up a good visual.

His speech rang hollow for me, for I know what the man is about.

“Yes she can, yes she can, she opened her eyes” coming from the messiah. That was the pivotal moment for me.

Family members who had lost loved ones, must have been stunned at this pep rally. Their loved ones will never, ever open his or her eyes again. What must they have felt? The first salvo in the forth coming re-election campaign.

Have times changed this much since George Bush and his moment of condolence at Virginia Tech?

Supreme Court Hears Challenge to Arizona Immigration Law — The One Signed by Former Gov. Janet Napolitano

I had read last night that Sotomayer was recusing herself from the case since she had commented upon it while working in the Justice Department that it was illegal. Thus a 4-4 vote tie could result in the Court suporting Arizona. Some good news perhaps, in an otherwise stressful day.

Gov. Jan Brewer came to the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday to hear arguments on an Arizona immigration law signed in 2007 by then-Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano, a Democrat.

From    How Appealing Law : The Associated Press has a report that begins, “The Supreme Court appears likely to sustain an Arizona law that threatens to take away the licenses of businesses that knowingly hire workers who are in the United States illegally.”

Update: You can access the transcript of today’s U.S. Supreme Court oral argument in Chamber of Commerce of United States v. Whiting, No. 09-115, by clicking here.

The 2007 Legal Arizona Workers Act calls for employers who knowingly or intentionally employ illegal aliens to be fined for the first violation and to have their license suspended or revoked for a second violation.

Both governors signed laws that the Obama administration opposes. Napolitano is now part of the Obama administration, serving as Homeland Security Secretary.

Napolitano called the bill “flawed” but signed it anyway on July 2, 2007 because – as she said at the time – “It is now abundantly clear that Congress finds itself incapable of coping with the comprehensive immigration reforms our country needs.” In the same 2007 statement, Napolitano said the flow of illegal immigrants into Arizona was “due to the constant demand of some employers for cheap, undocumented labor.” More at CNS News

Arizona Jan Brewer Denounces New Border Signs

Jan Brewer – you go girl. Yes indeed. We will clean it up on November 2.

The new sign now reads, “Visitor Information Update- active federal law enforcement patrol area, clean-up and restoration crews at work, contact BLM rangers for current area status.” In smaller print in the lower left-hand side of the sign provides the Bureau of Land Management district office phone number and encourages residents to call 911 for emergency.

Arizona’s Governor, Jan Brewer just published an updated video on the situation at the under patrolled Arizona border. She calls the brand new signs posted by the administration a “Holloween trick,” which does not give warnings to stay out of the area from the international border to upwards of 80 plus miles inside Arizona as it had before.  Instead, the new billboards declare the area a “patrolled area”. Brewer is not amused. She informs everyone that no changes in security have taken place but that in reality the strip of Arizona along the border has become the land of amnesty.

The “trick” as Brewer puts it, at the border is more than a little chilling, even past the ghouls of October and onto November 2nd, when supporters of an Administration blatantly ignoring the plight of border states like Arizona and Texas may fill the chill themselves.  More at Examiner

DOJ to Monitor Arizona Elections

Anyone want to bet the DOJ will be interested in “white” voter intimidation?  What is this with the Feds and Arizona? Is it something with “Big Sis” that she has this thing about her AZ? I keep thinking we are missing something since it seems that the feds have this “fatwa” against Arizona. What about the illegal registrations going on everywhere? No interest from the DOJ.

Federal observers and officials from the U.S. Department of Justice will monitor polls at Maricopa, Apache and Navajo counties on Election Day as voters cast their ballots for congressional, state and local candidates and 10 ballot propositions.

Officials said they will look to see whether voters are discriminated against based on race or ethnicity, whether jurisdictions are complying with the National Voting Rights Act’s minority language provisions and whether voters who have disabilities or are unable to read or write receive assistance.

More than 400 federal observers and Justice Department officials will monitor polls in 18 states on Tuesday. It will be interesting to see which polls they will be monitoring.

9th Circuit Tosses AZ Voter Proof of Citizenship Requirement

Another winning day for the 9th circuit. Judge Ikuta, joined by Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, sitting by designation, wrote the majority opinion in this case. The outrage is that Sandra Day O’Connor was brought in for this vote. Under what mandate does the 9th have to “appoint” someone to “sit in” and make a decision? Is this what we have come to? Already, voter fraud will determine the outcome of close elections in some cases, and already non Citizens are allowed to vote. Have we no respect for those who have fought and died for our freedom that we throw the ballot away so easily?

While I am on a tear, be sure and catch my earlier story back in July when the Federal Government orders “Cumulative voting” in Port Chester, NY–no longer one man one vote: Court orders to implement new voting methods. Coming soon to a town near you.

“You have to have ID to vote, so how in the world can they say it’s a hardship to have ID to register to vote? But, then, it’s not a hardship to actually complete process of voting?,” questioned Tucson Tea Party founder, Trent Humphries.

A comment: Vote in our elections? We should turn over all of our important decisions to the much more superior intelligence of the world community. How arrogant of this country to do otherwise.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals strikes again: The  AZ law requiring voters to show proof of citizenship when registering to vote and proof of identification when casting ballots. The opinion is here:

Proposition 200 requires prospective voters in Arizona to present documentary proof of citizenship in order to register to vote, … and requires registered voters to present proof of identification in order to cast a ballot at the polls…. This appeal raises the questions whether Proposition 200 violates the Voting Rights Act § 2, 42 U.S.C. § 1973, is unconstitutional under the Fourteenth or Twenty-fourth Amendments of the Constitution, or is void as inconsistent with the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA)….

We hold that the NVRA supersedes Proposition 200’s voter registration procedures, and that Arizona’s documentary proof of citizenship requirement for registration is therefore invalid.

9th Circuit Court of Appeals Allows 11 Latin American Governments to File Briefs in DOJ’s Lawsuit Against Arizona UPDATE

I caught Jan Brewer on Greta last night, Oct.14, 2010. She indicated she had just heard that the case was moving forward, and her action had been denied. I can find no mention of the details this morning.

This is absolutely stunning. How in the world did we come to this? Foreign countries interfering in our judicial system. But wait, recall how several supremo’s indicated that “International Law” could be considered, but not decisional in forming opinions. oh, we are on such a bad road. At times I do despair that we are too late. See our earlier post- Supreme Court takes into account International opinion here From the earlier post:

This observation does not control our decision. The judgments of other nations and the international community are not dispositive as to the meaning of the Eighth Amendment. But “‘[t]he climate of international opinion concerning the acceptability of a particular punishment’” is also “‘not irrelevant.’”

And do not count on Kagan, our new supremo,:

“My understanding is that she instituted three new courses to the required curriculum and, in so doing, got rid of a requirement to take constitutional law,” Robert Alt, senior legal fellow and deputy director of the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at the Heritage Foundation, told CNSNews.com.

“Currently, at Harvard, constitutional law is not required for first-year law students, or even for graduation,” Alt added. More at CNS News

Hot Air begs the question and does not answer: Where are we headed with International Law impinging on our judicial system? More at Hot Air

Jan Brewer:

“As do many citizens, I find it incredibly offensive that these foreign governments are using our court system to meddle in a domestic legal dispute and to oppose the rule of law,” the Republican governor said in a statement shortly after the state’s motion was filed Tuesday evening.

What’s even more offensive is that this effort has been supported by the U.S. Department of Justice. American sovereignty begins in the U.S. Constitution and at the border,” she added. “I am confident the 9th Circuit will do the right thing and recognize foreign interference in U.S. legal proceedings and allow the State of Arizona to respond to their brief.”

In a new twist in the fight over Arizona’s immigration law, Republican Gov. Jan Brewer on Tuesday asked a federal court to disallow foreign governments from joining the U.S. Department of Justice lawsuit to overturn the law.

The move comes in response to a 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling issued Monday, allowing nearly a dozen Latin American countries — Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Chile — to submit friend-of-the-court briefs in Justice’s challenge to SB 1070, which Brewer signed into law in April and is considered one of the nation’s toughest immigration-enforcement measures.
