Thanks @ASCO for asking me to share a #DayInTheLife as breast oncologist, researcher, leader, educator, mom. Here we capture a large piece. Other days are packed w/patient care (✨the best), and then there’a a mix of like this. I ❤️ my #oncology life. It’s the best job!
Follow along with breast oncologist & ASCO member @DrSGraff as she takes you through a #DayInTheLife, juggling cancer research, lectures & collaborations, family time, and more! On other days, her time is spent in clinic caring for patients with breast cancer.

Confession: Sometimes I write things I have completed on my to-do list just for the pleasure of crossing them off.

You’ve all seen those lectures where we thank mentors & collaborators, volunteer & advocates. But as a #WomenInMedicine #WomenInSTEM *this* is the secret to any of my success: our nanny. Who today said goodbye to my kids after ~ 12 years. The villages we create are powerful.

Today I received my first Pfizer #COVID19 vaccine - the result of rigorous phase 3 scientific trials, decades of vaccine research, & billions of dollars from numerous governments, investors, & humans. THANK YOU SCIENCE. #VaccinesWork #IGotTheShot #ThisIsOurShot

Normalize that *healthy* people can still be diagnosed with cancer. Normalize taking a step back from everything else to focus on your health. Normalize respecting the privacy of patients. Normalize that patients on cancer treatment can look normal, or not.

Early career #ProTip I learned from @ShikhaJainMD: 📸 After my session, I ask the other speakers if they want to take turns taking photos at the podium. (It was 1 speakers’ first ASCO!) Why? Speaking at a national meeting is a BIG DEAL. Take a picture! #ASCO22

October is breast cancer awareness month. You have probably seen the pretty little pink ribbons. But it is important to say that breast cancer is not pretty. An ugly thread #bcsm #BCAM /1
