Recently, there was an exciting new FDA approval of CAR T-Cell Therapy for certain populations of lymphoma patients. We've broken down how this innovative therapy works so you can be in the know.
Image contains infographic illustrating Car T-Cell Therapy step-by-step. Text says, "1. Collect patient's white blood cells through process called apheresis. 2. Isolate the patient's T-Cells. 3. Modify the patient's T-Cells to help them recognize and target cancer cells. 4. Increase numbers of fighter T-Cells. 5. Infuse new fighter T-Cells into patient. This process uses CAR (chimeric antigen receptor) T-cells, which are genetically modified to recognize cancer and signal an immune response to fight off the disease."
