Round Three… done

The edits are done, for the third time!  And entered.  It’s ready for printing and, with all the luck in the world, just in need of a proofread!

Anyway, little has changed otherwise.  Can’t even seem to get a visit in edgewise.  He has switched hospitals as it’s officially been diagnosed with a stroke.  I’m struggling with what to do and what steps come next given all of the circumstances.  These last days have put me and my own health in a compromised spot as I have an extremely painful cold sore, am not eating a lot and have managed to lose about 4lbs since Wednesday.

After a really rough and tiring night, today was the most normal as I was at least able to concentrate on my manuscript.

As I read it through for the third time and got to the only sex scene I wrote in any detail I started to wonder if I truly wanted all of it there… that’s probably the first time I’ve had those thoughts and I don’t. understand. why.

I’m pretty certain the title is going to be Haven of Secrets and I’m looking forward to completing it and finally getting a couple copies out to people who want to read it.

Hopefully tomorrow will be similarly normal.

I think all those 4:00 and 6:00 a.m. mornings have caught up. Last night was worse… I heard my daughter come in at 12:30 or so and I was awake for a couple of hours and then I woke at 6:30!

It’s like the fatigue gremlins have it in for me! If I get a single good night’s sleep they take it away from me threefold and make me feel even worse and I join their ranks once again.

What’s crazy is this morning I didn’t feel so bad. Then 3:00 and I wanted to step in front of a bus! I have to knock on wood but at least I didn’t end up with a headache!

In that time this morning I managed to enter 67 pages of edits and then spend time with my pencil editing up to page 84! Then I fell off the wagon!

By the time I got home I didn’t want to move off the couch even though I was hungry… didn’t even want to find something to eat.

So, my friends, my readers, I’m calling it a night. I hope that since the next two days are MINE that maybe I will actually sleep tonight, and tomorrow night, and that will translate to better nights again.

I hate feeling this way. I’m tired of feeling this way. I LOVE summer and it’s a month over already and I just have felt like doing much…

And I don’t know why!

I’m sorry!  I’m late!  Well, later than usual and it was my day off so you’d think I would have done this hours ago but…

Well…

I did a marathon edit and I have now edited my entire novel the second time through!  I need to start thinking of the synopsis and a title.

Anyway, there were 217 pages before I started and I had already expanded that to 227 pages after I had entered the edits from the first 92 pages.  I have entered edits up to page 132 on paper, 140 in the computer document.

Tomorrow I will finish entering them and then I will get another copy printed off.  Hopefully it will be satisfactory to me this time and the proofreads should be fairly easy since I have been picking up on so many of those.  Once I review the next copy I will then print a copy off and get it to my volunteer beta reader… or readers?

Because it’s so much later than usual I’m going to bid you all goodnight as last night was another so-so night for sleep and it seems like now is about the time I start to get really sleepy.

I wish I could say so far, so good but it’s a bit better.  My head has not been hurting today and I slept better last night… I slept the entire night anyway but I had to take some meds to accomplish that.

I’m still really tired now but at least my head isn’t pounding.

I managed to get most of that article written but I’m not sure I’m going to get much further than that.  I do need to give myself a bit of a break from this stuff.

Christmas movies are on for Christmas in July on W Network here but Hallmark elsewhere.  I think Hallmark is actually running it for two weeks in the US however we get two measly weekends.  This weekend and next weekend.  It’s just not fair!

However, they ran a new movie this weekend that was enjoyable.  The male lead character is actually a popular kids author who goes by a nom de plume but he has writer’s block! He hasn’t been inspired and the female lead, an event planner, teaches him that creativity can’t always wait and that often times it’s a case of having to plan work time and often the creativity just falls into place.

I have been finding that, at least with my article writing.  I still feel the need to be inspired when writing my fiction but at least the article writing thrives no matter the mood!

I am tired tonight, among other things.  I turned out the light last night at 9:55 and will likely do that again tonight.

I’m keeping this short for a number of reasons, number one being yet another headache!  I woke with this just before 6 this morning… yeah, that’s right, I bypassed 4 a.m. but I have been awake since 5:50.   I took meds, the headache went away and started to come back shortly before lunch and is just progressively getting worse.

I have tried to ignore it, I did some work on the final article but I was really struggling with work and articulating words.

I had a glass of wine last evening, that didn’t work.  I think I will have to resort to some of my mightier sleeping pills that I keep for these occasions especially.

I know what I really need but… well, maybe someday!

I am off to a birthday party… with kids… IF I can manage it.  I’ve tried some oils and I’ve just taken my migraine meds so with a little luck in an hour I will be feeling MUCH better.

I hate 4:00 a.m.

Today was the third, or fourth day that I have basically woken at 4 a.m. and only dozed until I had to get up.  No, that’s not quite right, the other morning I managed until 6 a.m. but didn’t go back to sleep at all so it’s probably about the same.

So, at this point, I HATE 4 a.m. because it doesn’t leave me alone!

It wasn’t as bad on my days off because I was able to putter and shift my focus but today was brutal as it all caught up and I was forced to focus over and over on itineraries.  It ended up not being too bad a day because I had one person come in and we rescheduled her and her son and another appointment didn’t show up. But it took its toll anyway.

I came home with my head pounding.

By supper my daughter was asking me a question and I would start to answer and then actually had to stop and ask her what she had asked…

Tomorrow will be another long day for me so by Sunday I might end up in bed all day!

I did manage, somehow, to finish that third article and got it sent off after supper.  One left to go and I have my research notes on that.

I am going to go and pour at least half a glass of wine.

I am at the end of my day and found myself having to pull myself away on the article I’m writing about Pressure vs. Stress!  Talk about pressure!  I ended at 1,371 words and need to reach 1,500… not bad.  At least I’m really close.

I’m also incredibly tired and suddenly in a lot of pain.  For some reason my incision is hurting and my back is hurting more.

It has been a productive day, but tiring.

I’m sorry that I’m not going to keep you this evening but, since it was my day off, I do owe you a post.

So short and sweet it is and I bid you all a goodnight.

Vacation has begun…

And I’m feeling incredibly depressed… I’m trying to figure out why though because I’m on vacation.

Why? Why? Why?

I haven’t written or done any editing in days?

I am now done work for a week so perhaps I’m just letting it all go?

I’ve been in a lot of pain this week… back pain, neck pain, repeated headaches as well as a large canker on the underside of my tongue that is not healing and rests on a nerve that, I believe, is causing me to feel pain in my jaw and my right ear.  Like I needed the last two with all of the other pain?

I started to feel this way around the time the rain started?

Maybe I need to write myself as a character in order to figure it all out.

Tomorrow I have a couple of choices… I could go to the trailer and visit my parents for the day, or I could do that on Sunday… either day the weather looks better at home than it does there.

I guess I’m not getting any of my assignments so when that will happen is beyond me… I wanted them so that I had the extra time to work on them… I even reached out to both and have had no response in return, again.

I will just carry on with my own writing then… no complaints there!

I’m extremely tired, have been all day… you know you’re tired when you try to put your make-up on in the wrong order.

Today… well today was just today.

I had a consult appointment with a patient around the corner at the wellness studio and have been struggling with headaches for four days now.  Today it did go away on its own but I’m noting that it might actually be returning and seeing thunderstorms in the forecast for tomorrow is very likely the cause of that.

I managed to get a manuscript into a binder and will hopefully be able to deliver that sometime this weekend.  I never got mine done though… transfer the original manuscript to another binder and get the fresh copy in so I can start proofreading.  I wonder how much I will change despite the edit not being for that!

My 30 days experiment with daily blogging is almost up and I’m not sure how I’m feeling about it.  There have been a few days that I have posted because I made a pact that I was going to blog for 30 days.  Is it worth it?  Has it been worth it?  I have enjoyed it for the most part.

There have been a couple of days that it’s all I have written so it has kept me writing daily no matter what.  There have been a couple of days when I’ve literally stuffed in a post near the end of my day for the reason above.

This month has been significant in that I finished writing a new novel and vowed to write 30 blog posts in 30 days.  I have also managed to edit that novel I finished writing and it’s probably the first novel I’ve ever written and edited in this short a time frame.  I also had my first two patients at the wellness studio and had my very first articles run in the Waterloo Region Rural Post!

With all of that it has been exciting to share the news with my readers.

So do I proceed and continue this daily blogging?  I am on vacation next week so what I might do is continue blogging daily through next week and then decide next weekend if I will continue after that… so that means after Sunday completes my 30 posts in 30 days I will post at least seven more times before I decide if I will continue or be able to continue.  It will still be 37 posts in 37 days which will still be a record for me no matter what.

I bid you all a goodnight as I prepare to go to bed soon as I’m getting more tired as it gets later!

Up until now I haven’t written a single word today; in fact I haven’t looked at anything writing related today.  It seems that I am in need of these days to regroup and I don’t know why exactly because two weeks ago I had no issue.  Last week I had to force myself just to do some editing on Wednesday but was out of the starting gate at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.

I have still not been feeling great.  Headache came back, still have this canker and sore ear and this afternoon I had to stop part way down the stairs as pain shot through my back.

It’s also hot… this is fabulous and I will never complain but, as we all know, it’s hard when the weather jumps from 22-23 degrees to almost 30 overnight and we aren’t entirely prepared.

I hooked up the air conditioner upstairs this afternoon so that maybe my sleep will be better?  Maybe I will end up headache free tomorrow?

Tomorrow I have a few things I want to do before I reach my vacation starting at 4:30 on Friday… just tidy up the work space/dining room and prepare a manuscript for a reader.

I will have lots of writing to do and I do want to sink my pencil into my manuscript and start my proofreading at the same time as I start on some articles that I don’t have titles for yet… and hope I get really soon!

I’m going keep this short as it’s time for me to go jump in the pool!
