I have cried twice today… once was in the tub… that’s the best place!
Anyway, the edits on paper were completed last night and they have now been entered. The beta copy is ready for printing and distributing.
I’m feeling apprehensive because on one hand I want to print another copy and dig in with my pencil again but at the same time I just want to close my eyes and remain blind to any of the minor issues that may still be hidden in the print!
I was thinking of posting the Prologue for you but it’s 900 words ling which makes for a long post. If I get comments asking me to do it I will post it either later or very soon and probably do it as a second post in the same day.
I have just watched the leaves on the tree outside go from blowing quite hard to nothing… I think the thunderstorm might be on the horizon… it’s about time. I’ve been suffering for two days with head pain related to exactly that!
I also gave someone some of my short stories and she put a post on Facebook yesterday that she loved one of them! That felt really good yesterday considering how I was feeling.
I can’t believe that Haven of Secrets is entering the final stages before going into “production”. I want to have it out far enough ahead of Christmas for it to be purchased as gifts! I think my timing is pretty good because I always have to order copies to double-check the cover and layout and make any changes.
That’s the process… oh and I want to write an author’s note.
This book tells two stories. Both heroines carry grief from their families. Both have been burned by love before and both have fallen in love. The book also tells the story of a tragedy. A tragedy that this author was able to turn around despite the actual tragedy being exactly that. It’s exciting being an author to have that control.
I am also going to include a summary of the actual story from back then because I put such a spin of my own on it. That way readers will know and understand the origin.
Lots of little acknowledgements and notes that I need to express. And I need to work out the wording of my dedication though the person is a given.
