So I am probably the only person on the face of the Earth that is not excited about this film and that is just because... eh, well, that's just me... but I am all for multiple versions of an original idea. An original, slightly kinky, drug-laden idea with a young girl at the center of it. Oh fuck it - these girls are only a little bit more sexual than the Lewis Carroll version, right?

Been playing this on repeat since yesterday. Makes me feel joyful and I want to hit the gay clubs again - been a while since I've been dancing. The super-straight 80's club in Charlotte does not count, 'coz we didn't dance... we just watched some poor drunk girl stumble around on a balcony. The three of us did sing along to Whitney Houston... but that is more gay for the boys than for me.

Finally saw the latest episode of Skins. I don't really care much for Freddie [Freddy?], but watching Effy implode/explode was... interesting/good.
LOVED the Katie/Effy interactions. Glad to see Cook back (that last scene was aces - those boys should hook up instead).
But the whole time I just kept wanting Naomily. *sigh*

Cook's episode on Skins was pretty stellar actually.
But then I like Cook. He's the kind of character I've always written - in my original stuff.
That kiss didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought it would. THANK YOU LESBIAN TELEVISION GODS!
So sweet to see Naomi having to pay just a bit. Lovely.
And Katie's episode looks like a real treat. :D

Had the best weekend ever. For real.

Just a glance at the beach - but it was beautiful and windy and warmer than here.
Didn't get enough sleep. Got randomly sick and delirious. Ate some great food and drank some great alcohol.
I know where every bathroom is from Charlotte, NC to Myrtle Beach, SC... and the one in Orrum is the best.
Played bowling on the Wii and I was awesome - only Tony did better than me.
Bonded with my friends, as a foursome and one-on-one (Travis and I shared coming out stories -and the random sickness comradery; Liz and I realized we are food soulmates - and we kept waking up at the same time every morning).
And I met little Aubrey, who slept and ate... and then repeated those actions.
Saw a rainbow and a gorgeous sunset. Got caught in the rain and the fog. Looked for tornados.
Liz and I stayed in Charlotte one extra night due to our never-ending journey back (where there was a lot of fever and saltwater taffy and laughs).
We ate the best turkey burgers - then we all fell asleep on the couch as Public Enemies played on the television.

Yep. Best weekend I've had in a really long time.

Like, really and truly. Love to eat and love to cook and - yes - I am one of those people who can watch cooking shows for hours on end.

I am especially enamored of this one on PBS. I mean, the guy I always catch has this odd way of talking (which I think is caused by his understanding of English not being as quick as his brain wants to go), but the dishes prepared are so interesting and fresh... I'd love to have an endless pocket of cash so I could go out and buy lots of different foods and whip up a feast.

Ah well. :D




More snow here. Yippee. *sigh*
Finally have Adobe on this new hard-drive. And Java. Still can't get iTunes. And with the exception of Crunchyroll.com, videos tend to freeze up. But I guess that is better than not playing at all! ;)

Bright side, kids... there is always a bright side...






Am going to do a massive SON rec post (not to mention just a massive SON post in general) very soon.
Need to keep writing, but have found a huge fic list and am reading too much.
Currently reading this one fic that has so many things that I *don't* like in a story - yet there are other things I enjoy and I can't look away... kind of like a car wreck.

It doesn't make me want to buy jeans at all, but I do get giddy when I watch it and listen to Walt Whitman's words. Very nice, Levi. Very nice.



And now the real reason I am doing this post. Several points will be made, all of them centering on fandom/fanfiction.

The rules are:

And now a fic or two to feed the obsession I currently have with all things SON...

Ghosts And Vodka is short and dark and angst personified. I love it.

How Shall I Speak Of Doom is one of those 'Spencer got shot instead!' fics, of which there are tons, but this one has just enough angst and just enough sweetness to make it a good read. Kind of like the beach novel, this one is good for a day of 'light' reading.

OMG. I cannot WAIT for this film. GUH.



And I am so wanting to write Palex fanfiction now. Dammit. Another fandom, which is over, that is infecting my brain. As if Otalia isn't enough...lol.
Not that Otalia is over - just very frustrating and stupid right now.



I am listening to the most bad-ass remix of 'Thriller' ever. Truly.
