1) If you'd like to play along, reply to this post and I'll assign you a letter.
2) You then list (and upload, if you feel like it) 5 (or 6 or 7) songs that start with that letter (feel free to explain why you chose the songs).
3) Then, as I'm doing here, you'll post the list to your journal with the instructions.

Got the letter 'c' from dreamer_98. :)

Yea. I went overboard. ;)

The show was good. The compliment I got was stunning, to say the least.
Not sure how I made it home, because my head was lolling around the whole time. Slept until almost three, but the overwhelming heat in my bedroom woke me up.

Great time out yesterday with Justin & Travis. Had a Red Stripe and some sweet potato fries... and some garlic knots... and some really tasty chicken wings in an arrabiata sauce. We went the finger-food route.
Will be meeting the boys on the 25th in Asheville for dinner, drinks and - finally - club dancing. YES.

Saw Bri for the first time in years. Went surprisingly well.

So glad I have tomorrow off. Might go for a hike around Price Lake with my mother.

Oh! Saw a deer and two foxes. It was pretty awesome. :D

I should have taken a picture of how long the line was.
Because it was INSANE.
I got there an hour before the doors opened, ticket in hand, and the line was about 100-200 ft. from the entrance. By the time I was half-way to the entrance, it had already filled up again behind me.

Absolutely crazy.

But still. Excellent show. Would definitely go see them again (it was their first time in Asheville, so I hope they come back now - they said that we, as a crowd, 'rejuvenated' them). Ridiculous amount of lesbians there, from the couple beside me who would randomly engage me in their conversations (and I never really knew what they were talking about, except that they come from Winston-Salem and one of them wanted to lean on me for support) to the couple in front of me, where one girl was way into PDA and the other one... not so much (my mother thinks she was staking her claim...lol). It was a lesbian free-for-all, with some random guys and one of my college professors (Go Jay!).

Oh. And a super-cool chick behind me requested 'Speak Slow', to which we both gave each other the thumbs-up... and then sang out to the song. ;)

What follows is very image-heavy and isn't even half of what I took last night.

i'd spend the night and i'd lose my mindCollapse )

And they sang my favorite, hence the lyrics used in this post! :D

'Twas a struggle to be in class today.
I didn't get home until after one and proceeded to put photos on my PC, so I didn't get to bed until two-ish. And my father woke me up at 6:30 in the morning. I can't even tell you what I said to him on the phone - it's a blur.

[sigh]

Managed to stay awake, though. Pass my quiz (mostly...lol). Did my commercial idea. And got to leave early thanks to my years of ARC experience. Sweet. :)

Now, time for more homework.

...Perhaps not tonight, though. I am way too tired.

Gah, Being Human tonight was just too much.

as always, there are spoilersCollapse )

Finally watched most of Hard Candy. Good god, Ellen Page kind of owns my heart now.
Wickedly intense film.

Also got to see some of one of my all-time favorite films in this world, Lawrence Of Arabia. Got to marvel at Lean's epic cinematography and the prettiness of Peter O'Toole's eyes and the over-whelming amounts of gay love.

Damn school exercise is just not working out well for me. I've got some kind of block going on, 'coz I am hyper-creative... normally. But I am letting some inconsequential paragraph trip me up. MEH.
I'll hope for better as Sunday officially comes to light.

Yea, you need to own this. If just for 'Switchblade'. Damn good song.

As I sit here, glancing every so often to my notebook (where I have to describe something using different/creative terms) and then do 'why not...' exercises, I am still going to put this section of homework off until tomorrow.

And don't look at me that way! I already did some today. Sheesh.

I have a rec, though. And that is important! :D

Waking Up was so much better than I thought it might be. And my longings for good & angsty XWP fic were high from the get-go.
Still, even with the tone this story takes and some of the things that occur, I really liked this fanfiction for a few key reasons:

-Xena actually seems static at first (painfully so), which is rare in this aspect of XWP fandom. It was oddly refreshing.
-Gabrielle is not a child. Or innocent. Or naive. She is not some nick-name spewing girl, tripping over her own feet and being 'pouty'. She's a little bit of everything. She's real.
-The ending is so fucking bittersweet. I love endings like that. LOVE THEM.

Go. Go read. :)

I had forgotten how tiring just sitting can be. Oh school, you are a funny little world.

-Three broadcasting classes today and the last one was the best, because it was totally about doing shows/recording shows/performing for ARC. Of course, the other two courses were not bad at all (I will take any pointers for speech/delivery) - but they were not the most interesting to me.

-Found out that Rutherfordton is a hot-bed of drugs & drug activity. Apparently it is the #4 city in the USA for drug-related crime. Seriously? Rutherfordton?! I find it hard to believe... but those guys seemed pretty sure.

-Met some dude named Esteban, who was so completely baked. Baked in the sense that he is never not baked, so there is a sense of tripped-out functionality to his brain. And because we all had to do a 30 second promo, I know a lot about him now.

-Also met Ian, this little guy with red hair and Buddy Holly glasses, who - inadvertently - made me feel every single one of my thirty-one years [lol]. Still, really cool guy and he knows his music and he puts everyone to shame with his ambition.

But yea, one thing I did not miss about the school experience is desk chairs. Jesus, my ass hurts. XD

Dinner with Tori tomorrow night.
HOMEWORK.
Classes on Thursday.
And in between all of that, actual work of the hard labor kind.

I'm happy, but tired.

Being Human. And Courage/Insanity Wolf.

I was slightly... disappointed with tonight's episode. In a way. I'm not sure I can explain it, to be honest.
It had it's funny moments. It had a sad moment or two. I don't know.

The stuff between Mitchell and that police guy, though - that was good (in a horrible way).

i'll still spoil you with picturesCollapse )

This is really just for morningafter2. I looked for a looooooooong time and I still could not find the one I was looking for. Bleh. These will have to do.

Not sure why, but I am really fucking tired. I'm going to have to crash.
Birthday party tomorrow for one of my aunts.
And then... the work/school week shall return...

Beautiful.

Turned on the television and got to see Being Human, so yea me! :D

Absolutely great show this morning. Loads of new stuff (some of it quite good) and a whole bunch of what I usually play - 80's, jazz, quirky indie rock/pop, electronica.

Next show is September the 5th. ;)

//

Wrote on YGTHYLA. Finally.
Thought about Day By Day as I struggled my way home from the station.
Love it when my brain gets this kind of energy - all creative and such. Makes me happy.

THIS SONG IS IT. There is something so nice about how I listen to songs, it's like I kind of fall in love with them - like an embrace that I can have at any time.
And not only is this track full of dreamy pop, but the Roman Ruins remix version is much the same.

BLISS. PURE BLISS.

Up all night, sleep all day.

Awesome is my favorite word, I think.

'don't say lovers and liars
like you know what you
are talking about'
but her voice rushes
around, not like a stream,
just like a girl
who runs about
so i don't listen much

yea, i made a wish
or two
yea, i think about you
yea, i do

And now I can say good-night, thanking those three shooting stars and happy to be alive.
