Class Offerings
Abs, Butt and Core
A fitness class based on using pilates, barre and strength training techniques to strengthen the core, legs and glutes.
Barre
Barre classes are a total body workout that combine ballet-based movements, strength conditioning, core-focused exercises, and stretching.
Boot Camp
This class incorporates high intensity intervals, running, athletic drills, plyometrics and body weight exercises.
Bosu
The ultimate in functional training, incorporating the BOSU in cardio, strength & balance exercises for a total body workout.
Cardio Fusion
This upbeat 45 minute class will challenge you with a combination of cardio, core, strength, and functional movement. Expect to sweat, activate and utilize your deep core muscles, and develop full-body strength in this class. Every class will be structured slightly different and there will always be a baseline for each exercise and ways to progress the movements based on your current level of fitness to keep you motivated, engaged, and challenged. Appropriate for all levels.
Cardio Kickboxing
A freestyle (no bags) Kickboxing class with a focus on proper Kickboxing technique and cardiovascular training.
Cardio Mix
Mix of various types of Cardio and Strength training.
Core & Stretch
This class is a combination of our core class and stretch class. The class will focus on exercises to strengthen your core followed by static and dynamic stretching to increase flexibility.
Dance Fitness
This fun and easy to follow cardio dance class combines high-energy and motivating music with moves that make you feel like you are partying on the dance floor.
Family Fit
Join this cardio and core class designed for the whole family to participate.
Family Open Workout Time
Family Open Workout Time is an opportunity for families to workout together in the Active Living Center. This designated workout time is for parents and children ages 10-15.
Fluid Strength Fusion
A fluid, challenging strength class incorporating techniques drawn from Pilates & utilizing gliding discs, resistance bands, stretching and more to activate and strengthen your core and enhance your body’s strength, posture, alignment, balance and flexibility.
Interval Training
A circuit/stations based interval training class combining cardio and strength exercises for a total body workout.
Kettlebell Training
This class utilizes Kettlebells for an emphasis on total body functional training.
Kickboxing
Kickboxing class using free-standing Wavemaster punching bags. Boxing gloves and wraps required. Participants MUST bring their own gloves and wraps to class.
Lift
This class uses weighted bars and plates to improve total body strength utilizing the 3 major lifts: Squat, Dead Lift and Bench Press, as well as incorporating other strength training exercises.
Pilates
Pilates exercises concentrate on the core muscles of the abdominals, back, and lower body. Performed on a mat and often with small equipment.
Pilates Stretch Fusion
This class uses Pilates mat exercises to concentrate on strengthening the core muscles of the abdominals, back, and lower body while incorporating static and dynamic stretches to enhance mobility and stability.
Pound
In Pound class instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements. Using Ripstix®, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out.
Power Strength Circuit
A circuit/stations based interval training class combining strength and power exercises to maximize energy output and strength gains.
Row Intervals
Utilizing Concept 2 Rowers, this total body circuit combines different rowing intervals with resistance training intervals to inspire a results-driven,maximum effort workout. It is cross-training at its best!
Spin
Spin 45, Spin Abs, Spin Express, Beginner Spin
The original indoor cycling program is an unmatched way to make your fitness goals a reality.
Step and Strength
Classic step aerobic patterns mixed with intervals of resistance training. This class is for all levels.
Strength Training
Build a strong body by utilizing a variety of strength training exercises using free weights and body weight.
Tabata
This HIIT style class incorporates plyometrics, cardio and strength movements following the Tabata Protocol of interval training. 20 seconds of max anaerobic effort with 10 seconds of rest for a total of 8 rounds = 4 minutes of a powerful training set.
TRX
The total body conditioning class using the revolutionary method of Suspension Training.
Yoga
Vinyasa, Hatha Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Foundations, Power Yoga
We offer a wide variety of yoga classes for every level. From gentle stretching and mindfulness to power flows that build strength and balance. Whether you’re new to yoga or deepening your practice, our certified instructors create a welcoming space where you can breathe, move, and grow at your own pace.
Zumba, Zumba Gold
Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic workout system. The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat.

Group Exercise Policies
Registration for group exercise classes is REQUIRED on the MV YMCA app. Registration opens at 6 a.m. three days before your selected class. Members who register but do not attend will face reservation restrictions on the app. You will receive a penalty if you do not check in, even if you participate in the class. Three offenses in 60 days will result in a one-week restriction from making any class or child watch reservations.
- Your YMCA Membership must be ACTIVE in order to sign up for and attend classes.
- Class size is limited to:
- 30 participants in Studio 1 & 2
- 40 participants in Studio 3
- Some classes may have a smaller capacity based upon equipment
- Classes may be held outside weather permitting and at the discretion of the instructor.
- Group exercise classes are open to members ages 16 and up, or ages 13+ when accompanied by a parent.

Checking In
Members must “check in” for each class they are registered for. You can check in 1 hour before class, and up to 1 hour after class to avoid penalties. If a class is full, members not checked in within 10 minutes of class will lose their spot to the wait list. There are two ways to check in for class.
- Turn on your Location Services on your cell phone app. Checking-in within a mile of the Y secures your spot in class.
- If you choose not to turn on Location Services, please use one of the kiosks located inside the YMCA. You can check in at any kiosk.
