This week, we tour my Founder’s Point house.

I wanted the house to face out toward the sea rather than in toward the cliff, which makes for a bit of a walk from the entry to the plot to the front door of the house.

I’m rather pleased with the skylights I made out of Goldshire Windows for the front room of this house!

This room has sort of a Dwarven aesthetic, except for the Pandaren kitchen corner 😛

The main thing I wanted to do in this house was give my boys a playroom. I told them that they can put whatever they want in there, but if I want to use something that they’ve put out in that room somewhere else in one of the houses, I will take it.

At first, I gave them a small octagonal room, which they promptly stuffed to the gills. When I got more room budget, I upgraded the playroom to a large octagonal room. The boys rearrange the stuff in there every time I let them play in it, of course, so I’m not going to document all of its configurations.

My 8yo made this construction with the Midnight fountains and gazebo; he may have gotten the idea from one of my neighbors, whose similar construction you can see in the background of one of the exterior shots.

On the other side of the front room, I made a suite of Human-cultures-themed bedrooms:
Stormwind (the default Founder’s Point vendor style)

Gilneas (with a few pieces from Lordaeron)

and Boralus.

Although my Houses are now level 5 and I have the room budget to expand this house further, I’ve decided to keep it at this size and focus my decorating attention on the Razorwind Shores house.

I’ve got 51 hours of /played in Hogwarts Legacy now. Kinevra is about halfway through, as far as level and story content go:

She’s level 24; when I look on the world map at the farthest away places where she hasn’t yet been, the maximum enemy level is 40.

I rolled up a third character and crossed my fingers. With a third character created, a fourth character slot did indeed appear, so I can have a character for each House!

Each of them is named after and has her appearance loosely based on one of my Human/Human-derived WoW characters: Kinevra is my Human Mage, Kivrinne is my Forsaken Mage, Kayliddia is my Kul Tiran Mage, and Kymberlea is my Worgen Mage.
After creating the last two characters, I let my 8yo play through the introductory sequence with one, up to the Sorting Hat, and I let my 6yo play through the introductory sequence with the other, again up to the Sorting Hat. I’ll probably let the boys play more with those characters later on, perhaps after I’ve completed all the quest content with Kinevra.

Well, well, well.
Invites for the War Within public alpha are going out, and the NDA on the War Within select content creators alpha has lifted, and information from the alpha is flooding Wowhead.

Between Blizzard Watch revealing this in their spoiler-coy headline and Wowhead revealing that in their spoiler-coy headline, the first major story beat of War Within is pretty well spoilt even without reading the articles.

I am quite excited about the Warbands concept, and I also quite like the Warbands group picture character selection screen idea. I’ve gotten really used to using the character selection screen to take nice clear pictures of outfits for the Sunday Mog Show, though — even if many of them have really terrible backdrop lighting and need levels adjustment — and I’m going to have to think about where is a place in the game with good, clear, even lighting that I can use to take outfit pictures for the Sunday Mog Show after the Warbands character selection screen goes live.

It seems that Dracthyr will be allowed to be more than just Evokers at some point in War Within. I’ll confess that I haven’t properly played my Evoker enough to understand how her abilities fit together, and that for me, the most fun thing about being a Dracthyr is Soaring. So if I can be a Dracthyr Mage (or Druid or Shaman) and Soar around, that might make being a Dracthyr more appealing to me than being a Dracthyr Evoker has been.

Customization previews for the new Allied Race, the Earthen, are up, and I find myself just as uninterested in rolling one as when they were first announced at Blizzcon. There’s another new race, which I don’t recall from Blizzcon coverage, that has enough customization options to potentially be a later-in-the-expansion Allied Race. They’re called the Harronir, and they appear to be some sort of bat-eared… porcupine? people. Not interested. In fact, I’m Not Interested enough in either of these new Allied Races that I’m once again, as I was right after Blizzcon, contemplating pruning the Minor Mages roster down to characters whom I’ve had for a very long time, characters I have written stories about, and characters of races whose Heritage Armor I would like to maybe get someday — just to break out of the “gotta catch ’em all”/”must have one of everything” mindset.

The most intriguing thing, to me, of what’s fountained out of the alpha thus far is some new ear customizations. Half-Elves are well-established in WoW lore: the High Elves Vereesa and Alleria Windrunner both have Human husbands and Half-Elf children, and Kalecgos is a Half-Elf in his Visage form. With the “Short” ear length customization currently available, Blood Elves and Void Elves can already RP as more elf-like Half-Elves. The “Pointed” ear customizations that have been discovered for Humans and Kul Tiran Humans will allow for RP as more human-like Half-Elves. Or, perhaps, they could allow someone to RP as a full-blooded Eversong Elf with a stouter body shape. The “Round” ear customizations that have been discovered for Blood Elves and Void Elves seem like a workaround to allow someone to RP as a Human with a more slender body shape.

I’ll save my thoughts on Transmogrification stuff that’s been previewed so far until the Season 1 Class sets for my three favorite Classes have all been shown; so far, only one of them has been written up.

A collection of Transmogrification Kits actually worn in-game by my Human Mage. Outfits are listed from most recent to least recent. Items that are no longer obtainable are marked with an asterisk (*).

117) Winter Finery

The Noble’s Winter Collection with Crown of the Icy Blue Rose and Sin’dorei Magister’s Shard
When Jaina Proudmoore’s new look for Battle For Azeroth debuted, I thought that the devs should have given Humans the long braid pulled over the shoulder hairstyle to go with it. Now, with this outfit, even more so — and a platinum blonde hair color, too, which I hadn’t quite realized that Humans don’t have until I wanted to use it with this outfit.

116) Lionguard

Lion’s Heritage with Crimson/Snowy/Deep Wanderer’s Scarf, Human Crest, and 7th Legionnaire’s Stave
Kinevra is originally from Westfall, though her family followed Lady Proudmoore to Theramore while she was yet a relatively young age. She returned to Westfall after the Shattering and met Hope Saldean there… It was good to see Hope return to Westfall.
As I don’t like either of the Human Heritage Armor helm styles for a cloth-wearer, I’ve used the coordinating colors of the Wanderer’s Scarf.

115) Twisting Netherwinds

Wayward Chronomancer’s Chronocap (LFR), Eternal Netherwind Mantle, Sparkburnt Welder’s Cloak (H), [Dranei] Recruit’s Robe, High Scholar’s Gloves, Eternal Netherwind Belt, Netherwind Boots, Aluneth (default, tint 2)
Although I am not fond of the Netherwind robe, I do like the shoulders and belt with a more attractive purple and blue robe.

114) High Scholar of the Kirin Tor

High Scholar’s Arcana with High Scholar’s Grand Staff
The High Scholar’s Arcana first appeared on the cash shop at the beginning of September 2023, with the matching staff available from the Trading Post in the same month. The armor set was on the cash shop until the end of October 2023, with the promise that it would later become available from the Trading Post. I waited, with increasing impatience, being as careful with spending Tender as I could so I would be sure to have enough, until the armor set at last appeared at the Trading Post in November 2024 — a whole year after it was removed from the cash shop.
In the Appearances collection, this armor set is subtitled “Kirin Tor Regalia”. I’d love to give it a “Mage Class Sets” page, but it’s neither Class nor Armor-type specific — it is entirely Cosmetic.

113) Sleek Waveborne Diplomat

Waveborne Diplomat’s Regalia with Twisted Sisters Handwraps, Riven Priesthood Slippers, and Plundered Oracle Fin Staff
The Waveborne Diplomat’s set, including the puffy shoulders, has grown on me as it’s sat in my Wardrobe. I still think the set gloves and boots are pretty silly, though, so I thought I’d try to find some gloves and boots that I might like better. Because the set uses a unique hue of brown, it was easier to find items that would coordinate with the darker of the olive green shades in the stripes of the pants and the lower sleeves.
I’ve been using my Human Mage’s original appearance as her primary appearance again for some time now, so it felt right to change her name back, too. Fortunately, her original name was still available.

112) Modern Darkmoon Mystic Mage

Watcher’s Cap, Dueler’s Lively Shoulder Cape + Dueler’s Violet Shoulder Cape, Cloak of the Darkmoon Faire, Disciple’s Robe, Fabulously Flashy Finery, Archmage Slippers, Terokk’s Shadowstaff
I made a version of this outfit long, long ago (see Blood Elf Warlock #5); with all the Wardrobe QoL changes since then, and new Cosmetic items, it was overdue for an update.

111) Frost Comes First

Eternal Blue Rose, Corrupted Mantle of the Felseekers (LFR), Mage’s Robes, Mage’s Mitts, Mage’s Sash, Mage’s Slippers, Icicle Rod*
Why else would Mages start out wearing blue and white?
See also Tauren Priest #98 and Tauren Mage #10.

110) Blue Satin Sash

Eternal Blue Rose, White Wedding Dress, Mage’s Sash, Mage’s Slippers, Durak’s Wand, Spring Flowers
One evening while I was singing “My Favorite Things” to my children during their bedtime routine, this Mog idea suddenly popped into my head.

109) Curse of Regret

Vestment of the Honored Valarjar with Bartered Vrykul Hood, Gwyneth’s Runed Dragonwand, and Fetid Bouquet
When the Trading Post Class armor and weapon sets were officially announced, I thought about how much Tender I’d need and almost immediately wished that I hadn’t bought this set and off-hand and still had that Tender to spend — particularly since I hadn’t yet had any Mog ideas that specifically made use of them.
The flavor text on this off-hand says “some roses are best left unsmelled” — but I bet the Niffen would absolutely adore it!

108) Raven’s Apprentice II

Feathered Cowl of the Guardian, Snowblind Mantle, Feathered Drape of the Guardian, Necrology Robes, Girdle of Tirisgarde, Hu’rala’s Slippers, Calenda Fighting Stick/Standard of the Guardian
Update of a previous loosely-Medivh-inspired kit (Human Mage #26) with the Guardian items from the Trading Post. I had to make sure to do the kit during November 2023 so I could use the Trading Post preview window to take pictures with the staff, since at the time, I wanted to save Tender for class set items that would be coming in December and didn’t feel like I could afford to spend 650 Tender to actually purchase the staff.

107) Granny Witch

Granny’s Old Hat, Simple Black Dress, Sorcerer Slippers, Blackwood Ritual Stick, Fire Runed Grimoire
This new color of the Crooked Tree hat, from the October 2023 Trading Post, is a reference to the Witches sub-series of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld, of course.
The Headless Horseman’s Hearthstone provides the SFX for the pumpkin-head picture.

106) Pretty Fly

Square Holders, Drake Racer’s Shoulderpads, Red Mageweave Vest, Stylish Black Shirt, Earthmender’s Bracer of Shattering, Phoenix Gloves, Drake Racer’s Belt, Phoenix Pants, Drake Racer’s Boots, Farmer’s Broom
The chestpiece worn by Classic Alliance Flight Masters found in Stormwind and a few other Classic flight point locations is clearly the chestpiece that ought to go with the Classic Tailored Phoenix Pants & Gloves. Alas, like so many wonderful pieces, it is unavailable to players — only NPCs get the privilege of wearing it.

105) Plumed Harlequin

Fearless Gladiator’s Silk Cowl (A), Fireplume Plumage, Darkmoon Harlequin’s Tunic, Fireplume Claws, Darkmoon Harlequin’s Belt, Darkmoon Harlequin’s Tights, Fireplume Talons, Staff of Dominance
This fun, flashy mashup of the Fireplume and Darkmoon Harlequin sets was just the thing when Kimmellynn wanted something new to wear.

104) Pupellyverbos Port

Red Tricorne Hat/Plundered Crimson Captain’s Hat/First Mate Hat, Curtainfire Mantle, Cloak of the Shadowed Sun, Sinfall Venthyr Vestments, Hexweave Gloves, Gem-Inlaid Velvet Cinch, Leggings of Mischief, Buccaneer’s Boots, Freeport Falchion + Deep Core Lantern
Yo ho ho and a bottle of…

103) Rosy Reminiscence

Historical Perspective Shifters, Corrupted Mantle of the Felseekers, Runecloth Tunic, White Swashbuckler’s Shirt, Belt of the Sage, Resplendent Sarong, Archmage Slippers, The Staff of Twin Worlds
In my previous search for tunics to coordinate with the Resplendent Sarong, I somehow completely overlooked the Runecloth Tunic.
Kimorene thought she’d give the Curly Bun hairstyle a try.

102) Order of Embers

Simple Glasses, Almost New Shoulderpads, Wild Combatant’s Silk Robe, Order of Embers Tabard, Blanched Ravenfeather Gloves, Willow Belt, Blightbitten Steps, Fighter Broadsword, Tome of the Dawn
Kinevra quested through Tiragarde Sound and Stormsong Valley, but it was Kaelyla who quested through Drustvar; she only got as far as the reorganization of the Order of Embers at Arom’s Stand. Hence the poor photoediting seam in the picture with Lucille Waycrest.

101) Avatar

Tasteful Eyeglasses, Stylish Blue Shirt, Squallshaper Leggings, Stickyfoot Sandals, Fighter Broadsword + Tome of the Dawn
An attempt to make my Human Mages look like I do in the Real World, sort of. I wear my hair in a tail like Kaylynda most of the time, but it curls like Kayliddia’s hair when I wear it loose. My hair color is somewhere in between the orange of Kaylynda’s hair and the reddish-brown of Kayliddia’s hair. My body shape is definitely more Boralus than Stormwind.
The sword I chose is meant to represent these play swords that my husband spent much of the last year or two making.

They have an aluminum bar core encased in cardboard and/or foam, held together with wood glue or caulk or sewn cord, and, obviously, duct tape.

Shadowlands is worth getting just for all the wonderful new customization options!
Here’s how the appearances of my Human characters changed.

~*~*~

Kaylynda (Primary Alt; toon name on server)

skin tone 4; face 6; hair style 18; hair color 4; eyebrows 6; face shape 3; eye color 14
Kaylynda appeared mid-Warlords when I decided that I wanted to have my Human Mage be an Alliance doppelganger for my Blood Elf Mage — and also a closer avatar of myself. She is several years older than Kinevra. She’s originally from Redridge Mountains. She was at Theramore during the time that Kaelinda was there, in Human disguise, during which time the two became firm enough friends for the friendship to survive the reveal of Kaelinda’s actual identity. She was not at Theramore during the events of Tides of War, however, because she had already moved on to another project or assignment.

Kinevra (Alter-Ego)

skin tone 3; face 9; hair style 4; hair color 6; eyebrows 7; face shape 1; eye color 17
Kinevra was my Human Mage’s original name & appearance. She was born in Westfall; after the great drought that occurred when she was still a small child, her family moved to Stormwind and from there followed Jaina Proudmoore to Kalimdor and the founding of Theramore. After growing up in Theramore, she escaped the mana-bomb by virtue of having been assigned, despite her youth, as a guardian mage to the ship taking Theramore children and families to safety in Gadgetzan (see Tides of War p 173). She had an enormous crush on Prince Anduin for many years. Because of her Theramore history and strong loyalty to Jaina Proudmoore, Kinevra returned as my primary Human Mage identity for Battle for Azeroth, though I didn’t officially change the toon’s name back.

Kimorene (Alter-Ego)

skin tone 12; face 19; hair style 27; hair color 11; eyebrows 11; face shape 2; eye color 5
This character was originally a Priest alt who was dismissed during an alt-fatigue pruning episode. I liked her appearance enough that I later revived her as a Mage Alter-Ego. Originally from Tirisfal Glades, she traveled to Southshore to see her oldest son Robert’s new baby just before the Plague hit. As soon as the first news of the Plague came to Southshore, Robbie put everyone on his fishing boat and they sailed across Baradin Bay to Menethil Harbor, arriving before that town closed its port. Later, they moved to Stormwind.
(I forgot to do the piercings when I updated the rest of the appearance, but they are still intended to be part of her look!)

Kimmellyn (Alter-Ego)

skin tone 11; face 22; hair style 30; hair color 12; eyebrows 11; face shape 2; eye color 3
Kimorene’s youngest daughter, who traveled with her mother to Southshore to see her brother Robbie’s new baby and thus became the only other member of her family to escape the Plague.
(I forgot to do the piercings when I updated the rest of the appearance, but they are still intended to be part of her look!)

~*~*~

Kerithian (Primary Alt; toon name on server)

skin tone 3; face 7; hair style 8; hair color 8; eyebrows 1; ears 1; eye color 1; markings 10; markings color 6; earrings 2
Kerithian is the granddaughter of my Night Elf Mage, Keriluna. She is about a millennium and a half old. She didn’t care much for Teldrassil itself, but was horrified and furious over the loss of her people.

Kivrin (Alter-Ego)

skin tone 2; face 9; hair style 20; hair color 4; vine color 3; eyebrows 1; ears 3; eye color 1; markings 3; markings color 3; headdress 2
A decade ago, when I was first beginning my journey in Azeroth, after creating our Tauren Shaman & Druid and playing with them for awhile, BTH and I thought it might be fun to create a pair of Alliance characters, too. We decided to make Super Stealth Buddies: he made a male Night Elf Rogue, and I made a female Night Elf Druid named Kivrin. We didn’t have as much fun with our Night Elves as we did with our Tauren, however, and eventually Kivrin got pruned from my growing alt roster.
Kivrin returned in Battle for Azeroth as a Feral-specced Alter-Ego of Kerithian. The original Kivrin had the “Short Tail” hairstyle (6) and this color. She also had the “shadow” tattoo style that Kerithian now wears, but to further differentiate the two characters (because I initially kept the skin tone and face the same), I changed her tattoo style to the “blades” design that matches the markings on the face of the Night Elf Cat Form.
With the numbers to help me keep track, I’ve now changed Kivrin’s skin tone and face to be different from Kerithian’s.

Kivrin-Night Warrior (Alter-Ego)

skin tone 13; face 9; hair style 20; hair color 16; eyebrows 1; ears 3; eye color 10; markings 3; markings color 1; headdress 2
Kerithian didn’t love Teldrassil enough to be affected by the splash from Tyrande’s transformation into the Night Warrior, but Kivrin did.

~*~*~

If in the future I make changes to any other characters’ appearances, I will add their before-and-after looks to this post, below.

A collection of Transmogrification Kits actually worn in-game by my Human Mage. Outfits are listed from most recent to least recent. Items that are no longer obtainable are marked with an asterisk (*).

100) Blue Queen

Crown of the Righteous, 7th Legionnaire’s Amice, Sorcerer Robe, Shadowlace Cord, Sea Sculptor’s Cuffs, Eelskin Flippers, Crafted Cloak of War, Blue Linen Shirt, Court of Farondis Tabard, Replica Lion’s Fang, Sinister Combatant’s Etched Vessel
This coloration of the crown originally dropped by Opulence in the Battle of Dazar’alor raid is a Shadowlands Jewelcrafting design.
My original Human Mage, Kinevra, gets to wear this special outfit because it is outfit #100 for “Things my Human Mage Wears”!

99) Shadowfrost

Crown of Eternal Winter, Frostwind Mantle, Cataclysmic Gladiator’s Silk Robe, Deckhand’s Rope Belt (N), Primal Combatant’s Gloves of Prowess, Hu’rala’s Slippers, Wild Combatant’s Energy Staff
I’d had the notion of pairing these shoulders with this robe, and then I had to figure out what else would look good with it. The crown surprised me a bit; I do rather like how it looks when it’s not in the creepy phase of its animation.

98) Mage Flames

Fire: Firehawk Hood (N), Mantle of Closed Doors (N), Black Velvet Robes, Belt of the Hero, Sorcerer Slippers, Felo’melorn (default, tint 1)

Frost: Frostwind Cowl, Frostwind Mantle, Black Velvet Robes, Sorcerer Sash, Sorcerer Slippers, Felo’melorn (default, tint 4)

Arcane:
Firehawk Hood (H), Mantle of Closed Doors (H), Black Velvet Robes, Nesingwary’s Sash, Sorcerer Slippers, Felo’melorn (default, tint 2)
This is an idea that’s been percolating more or less ever since Battle for Azeroth‘s Island Expeditions introduced a blue coloration of the Firelands Mage Tier set — now there was a coloration for each Mage specialization! I couldn’t make it a reality, though, until Shadowlands expanded Transmogrification to allow Artifact appearances to be used cross-spec.

97) Glam Grandma

Rhinestone Sunglasses, Buccaneer’s Robes, Aboriginal Sash, Cushioned Treads of Glory, Wound Dressing, Void-Warped Oshu’gun Staff
When the Rhinestone Sunglasses became a cosmetic, Moggable item in Patch 9.0.5, that seemed like the opportunity I’d been waiting for to show off Kimorene’s new look with the Shadowlands customization options.

96) Eternal Traveler

Vestments of the Eternal Traveler with Fearless Gladiator’s Silk Cowl, Purifier’s Silken Cape, and Pillar of the Dreamgrove
For at least one character, I wanted to use the entire Eternal Traveler set… more or less. I still swapped out the hat (because I like to see my character’s face) and the cloak (because this one is prettier).
I’ve been waiting for a good opportunity to show off Kimmellyn’s gorgeous new look, and this seemed like a fabulous one. I’m not sure which of my Human Mage personas will actually end up being “prime” in Shadowlands, though.

95) Scholar of the Highborne

c

Orchid Amice*, Highborne Robes, High Councillor’s Sash, Resplendent Sarong, Archmage Slippers, White Swashbuckler’s Shirt, Celestial Stave*
This outfit is a modernized appearance of the outfit Kaelinda is wearing in “Kaelinda at Light’s Hope Chapel”. I wrote that story almost ten years ago, at the beginning of Cataclysm. Although Transmogrification hadn’t been introduced yet, I think the outfit shown in the pictures in the story is likely to be an RP-Clothes kit rather than her actual at-level questing gear at the time. At any rate, the robe was definitely chosen for the RP quality of its name, as the story is about Kaelinda searching out and studying an ancient Highborne manuscript. Because Kaelinda spends much of the story exploring Alliance lands in Human disguise, Kaylynda gets to wear this outfit, too.
The robe has triangular skin windows on the hips, which I have filled in with the Resplendent Sarong to bring in a little more of the magenta color from the bodice.

94) Esquire

Duskhaven Top Hat, Duskhallow Mantle, Shadow Council Tunic, Keyton’s Sash, Godfrey’s Britches, Gloves of Abhorrent Strategies + Shadow Council Bracer, Duskhaven Boots, Obsidian-Flecked Cape, Clear Crystal Rod*
I used to have one of my bank alts wear an RP-Clothes outfit similar to this, only with the Noble’s Monocle from Outland fishing dailies for the headgear and Black Ice for the bling. The Antique Silver Cufflinks, also from Outland fishing dailies, which were part of my bank alt’s ensemble, match these cloth bracers.

93) Alodi’s Heir

Cataclysmic Gladiator’s Silk Armor with Brutal Gladiator’s Silk Cowl, Black Swashbuckler’s Shirt, and Ebonchill (upgraded, first tint)
When I finally figured out that this set is what Alodi and Archmage Karlain (in the Elite recolor) are wearing, then I had to get it. It needed a less complicated hat, though. It also looks rather smashing with the Crown of Eternal Winter.

92) Tirisgarde Apprentice in Pants

High Councillor’s Tunic, Felcast Cord, Ravensun Britches, Zaetar’s Gloves, Mountainsage Sandals, Formal White Shirt, The Staff of Twin Worlds
The Auxiliary’s Robe worn by the Tirisgarde Apprenticies in the Hall of the Guardian is acquired from low-level PvP. I don’t want to endure low-level battlegrounds, so I’ll have to make do with an outfit using the matching pants (which are acquired from a normal leveling quest).

91) Azerite Arcanum

Empyrial Cosmic Crown, Heroes’ Frostfire Shoulderpads, Robes of the Exalted, Runed Spell-Cuffs, Sandswept Sandals, Cloak of Tranquil Clouds, Spectral Censorite’s Staff
During the last patch of Legion, I made an Azerite-inspired outfit for Kamalia (Shaman #83). Now, at the end of Battle for Azeroth, I wanted to make an Azerite-inspired outfit for one of my Mages.

90) Silver Thread

Silver-Thread Armor with Warmage’s Spire
I’d been playing around with elements of this Classic set in kits for other characters and thought to myself that I ought to have someone wear the whole ensemble for awhile.
The Afterlives: Maldraxxus short prompted me to contemplate the Necrolords as a viable Shadowlands Covenant affiliation for this character — and to use the Orb of Deception to visualize this outfit on an Orc.

89) Blackwater Buccaneer

Red Tricorne Hat, Black Swashbuckler’s Shirt, Captain Sanders’ Sash, Seafarer’s Pantaloons, Buccaneer’s Boots, Freeport Falchion, Mok’Morokk’s Grog Bottle
The Blackwater Raiders are the pirate gang, led by Baron Revilgaz, who run Booty Bay.
I originally wanted to do an all-red outfit using the Corsair’s Overshirt and Buccaneer’s Pants —

— but all the reds are different hues and it felt clashy rather than coherent.
See also Priest #11 & #73.

88) Tinker II

Flying Tiger Goggles, Corrupted Mantle of the Felseekers (LFR), Elemental Raiment, Cord of the Slain Champion, Godfrey’s Britches, Zaetar’s Gloves, Gnomish Inventor Boots, Rustbolt Resistance Tabard, Neural Synapse Enhancer
Kinevra is the only other character, besides Kamalia, to have actually gone to Mechagon (which she did primarily to be able to do the Mechagnome recruitment questline), so I decided to update her previous “Tinker” kit (#33) to use the Rustbolt Resistance Tabard and the staff from Operation: Mechagon.
Kinevra’s professions have been Herbalism and Inscription for a very long time. But darnit, I wanted to have one of my high-level Mages be able to wear the Engineering goggles, so Kinevra unlearned Inscription and picked up Engineering in its place.

87) Tirisgarde Field Marshal

Ceremonial Crown of Karabor, Vestia’s Pauldrons of Inner Grace, Field Marshal’s Silk Vestments, Light-Woven Slippers, Aluneth
I was a little bit disappointed to discover that the Order Hall Campaign titles are not automatically awarded to alts of the same class upon reaching level 110; each character must complete the Order Hall Campaign for themself to be able to use the corresponding title. Kinevra finally got around to returning to the Broken Isles to finish the Mage Order Hall Campaign in late Battle for Azeroth, after she’d finished all the things she wanted to do in Kul Tiras.
Kinevra also acquired the Field Marshal’s robe with Honor gained by running Northrend dungeons while the Alliance held Wintergrasp; she also has it equipped for this outfit to celebrate finishing the Mage Order Hall Campaign and acquiring the Archmage title at last.

86) Knight-Captain of the 7th Legion

Mountainsage Hood, Mantle of the Champion, Knight-Captain’s Silk Tunic, 7th Legionnaire’s Cord, Warmongering Gladiator’s Gloves of Prowess, Sandswept Sandals, 7th Legionnaire’s Stave
I was finally ready to go do the Pride of Kul Tiras questline and recruit the Kul Tirans. Kinevra needed something special for the occasion. Years ago, she acquired this robe using Honor gained by running Northrend dungeons while the Alliance held Wintergrasp (see also “Hero of Stormwind”, her outfit #5). Not having done PvP in Classic, however, I haven’t got the requisite Legacy Achievement to Transmogrify its appearance, so she has it equipped.

85) Orome

Crown of Infinite Prosperity, Willow Vest, Councillor’s Sash, Elunarian Sarong, Goldenvine Wraps, Kurkenstoks, Torch of Austen, Suntouched Flowers
This festive summer beach ensemble is named after a song by European ethnopop star Oonagh.

84) Topaz and Peridot

Crown of the Seducer, Imbued Silkweave Epaulets, Opulent Robes, Night Dreamer Handwraps + Fen Spirit Wristwraps, Shattrath Jumpers, Crystalfire Spellstaff (stage 3)
Fortuitously, and fittingly, Kinevra won the crown from Opulence straight up — without using a Seal — when she went to defeat King Rastakhan for the Alliance War Campaign quest.
I couldn’t resist the pun of using the Opulent Robes with an item dropped by a boss named Opulence. I also liked how the green moderated the brightness of the orange, which led to my choice of shoulders. Overall, I’m very happy with how this turned out.

83) Duskhaven Lupin

Blue Tricorne Hat, Duskhaven Dress, Duskhaven Boots, Lupine Longstaff
The Duskhaven Top Hat is generally ridiculously expensive when it shows up on the AH, so I’m happy that this hat coordinates so nicely with the Duskhaven Dress.

82) Under The Sea

Pearlescent Spaulders, Siren Mystic’s Vestments, Belt of Blind Devotion, Gloves of Unshackled Arcana, Eelskin Flippers, Tabard of the Dreamweavers, Plundered Oracle Fin Staff
These are the pieces I wanted out of the Eternal Palace LFR set, so when I’d gotten them all, I was done. I like the design of the skirt of the robe but not the blouse, so it’s a good thing that this pretty tabard has just the right coordinating color to cover it up. It’s fun that the dimensional pearl brooch still shows over the tabard.
Nazjatar has some pretty spots, but it can’t beat Vashj’ir for gorgeous undersea scenery.

81) Tidespeaker

Tidespeaker/Sagehold set with Squirgle’s Deepstone Wand and Tortollan Traveling Lantern
It was this robe that, when datamined in a Legion patch PTR, gave the first clue that we’d be going to Kul Tiras in the next expansion.
Fittingly, this set is obtained by questing in Stormsong Valley, where the Tidesages have their major settlement.

80) Port Authority

Grey Tricorne Hat, Bloodbough Mantle, Nobleman’s Coat, Standard Issue Airborne Belt, Nobleman’s Pantaloons, Archaeologist’s Quarry Boots*, Nola’s Shawl, Hacksaw Skinning Knife, Crow’s Nest Spotlight
When I first discovered how small the average amount of Seafarer’s Doubloons awarded for a single Island Expedition run is, I thought I’d just settle for getting this faction-neutral version of the Tricorne Hat. By the time I’d gotten this hat, though, I was really quite enjoying the relatively mindless run-around-and-smash-things gameplay of Island Expeditions — so I think I’ll eventually collect enough Doubloons to get the other two colors of the Tricorne Hat, too.

79) Amisi’s Amiga

Nightvale Cowl, Mantle of the Champion, Vestments of the Shifting Sands, Amaranthine Leggings, Nightvale Wristwraps, Kurkenstoks, Eye-Blinder Greatcloak, Rolfsen’s Ripper, Symbol of Transgression
Amisi Azuregaze and her husband Arille are the proprietors of the Legerdemain Lounge in Dalaran. Since their introduction in Wrath, I’ve been quite fond of them for being a mixed-race couple not only as in High Elf + Human but also as in fair + dark.
Ha, I didn’t even realize until I went to take the pictures how much Kimmellyn looks like Amisi!

78) Wrathful Moonpriest

Ceremonial Crown of Karabor, Wrathful Gladiator’s Silk Amice, Imbued Netherweave Tunic, Felcast Cord, Moonpriest’s Legwraps, Sunfrost Handwraps, Inferno Breath Sandals, Moonpriest’s Cloak, Steel Bladebreaker, Urn of Lost Memories
Kinevra’s first trip to the Darkshore Warfront rewarded her with the pants and cloak from the Moonpriest’s Vestments. I thought I’d see what I could come up with to show off these fancy pants.
Seeing the addition of darker skin tones to several races in the Shadowlands alpha datamining inspired me to see what the kit would look like on Kimmellyn.
Azshara’s palace in the Well of Eternity dungeon — and the surrounding Kaldorei city that can be seen from her balcony — seriously needs a renovation now that the art team have established what Highborne architecture really looked like. But of course, the devs will never actually go back and do that.

77) Shirakess Lieutenant

Shirakess Raiment with Freeport Falchion and Tortollan Traveling Lantern
This is the Benthic cloth armor set from Nazjatar. The name of it makes me think that the coat ought to have a second set of sleeves hanging limp below the normal sleeve location, as if it had actually been something worn by a Naga woman.

76) Blessed Waters

Khadgar’s Shoulderpads of Conquest, Sanguine Silk Robes (25H), Mindfire Waistband, Saltarello Shoes, Seafury Tamer, Chalice of Benedictus
I farmed Trial of the Crusader 10 for several months before this beautiful Alliance-specific off-hand finally dropped. This Kul Tiran wand (the first new wand style I’ve really liked for a long, long time) and this robe seemed like good items to go with it. I played around with a few different shoulders; these ones won out because of how their little orange gems coordinate with the orange gems decorating the Chalice, thus making the ensemble as a whole more coherent.

75) Ye Merry Gentlefolk

Finely-Tailored Green Holiday Hat, Swoop-Tail Shoulders, Councillor’s Tunic, Captain Sanders’ Sash, Willow Pants, Saltarello Shoes, Sawbones Shirt*, Drape of the Loyal Vassal, Stoneguard, Lantern of Hope
I wanted to make a holiday outfit with this vest, using trousers. It occurred to me that the colors and design of this cloak were quite festive, and I really liked how it looked with these shoulders.
The jolly gent in the last picture is Kimmellyn’s older brother Robbie.

74) Timewalker Archivist

Bronze-Tinted Sunglasses, Wound-Cauterizing Spaulders, Princess Poobah’s Dress, Cord of the Slain Champion (N), Zaetar’s Gloves, Kul Tiran Tidespray Linen Sandals, Keepers of Time Tabard, Lordbane Scepter, Dungeoneering Guide
A slightly fancier variation on this theme.

73) Bartered Vrykul Baubles

Bartered Vrykul Hood, Tread-Bind Spaulders, Bauble-Woven Gown, Frosthowl Cinch, Zaetar’s Gloves, Kul Tiran Tidespray Linen Sandals, Drape of the Chosen Dead, Vile Branch
I’ve long thought that this is the most handsome of the generally drab Northrend robes and have been wanting to build a kit around it. Getting this hood from the Tortollan pilgrimage scrolls quest seemed like a good opportunity to finally do that.

72) Miss Aria

Hat of the First Sister, Ravencourt Formal Mantle (N), Ravencourt Formal Robes (N), Mana-Cord of Deception (N), Handguards of Defiled Worlds, Sorcerer Slippers, Barrage Dodger Cloak, Baleful Spire
At level 115, Kinevra was just barely able to solo the first boss of Black Rook Hold to get this robe for this outfit.

71) Ice Sapphires

Fierce Gladiator’s Silk Armor with Wild Gladiator’s Silk Cowl, Merciless Gladiator’s Silk Amice, Boots of Incantations, and Ebonchill (upgraded, first tint)
This kit is named and styled in parallel with the “Fire Rubies” kit that I made with the Horde recolor of this set for Kaelinda (Blood Elf Mage #57). Perhaps in another two or three expansions I’ll feel up to soloing Normal Antorus to collect the purple version of this set for “Arcane Amethysts”.

Will I ever do more with any of these characters than enter the world and maybe manage to get through the 1-5 zone and out to their racial capital city? Realistically speaking, probably not. Nevertheless, the collector in me still wanted to have a complete set of Classic Classes.
