Rivers hold a spiritual place because of their cleansing and life-source properties.
There is a belief that Ganges water remains germ-free for decades. People store bottles at home for purification.
I am not a believer, so not the right person to comment on it.

Yes, I’ve dug a bit deeper and learned the same. And there is a reason why some part of the Ganges are germ-free, it’s a natural phenomenon because of the chemical qualities of it, but there are some areas of it that have impacted negatively because of today’s industries. Humans footprints are the reasons. Thanks for your comments, Reena!
